Saw this while looking for a monitor for someone. This model is the same as the Dell S2721DGF with new firmware from what I’ve read. Haven’t seen them cheap for a long time. Amazing screens.

Usually dispatched within 1 to 2 months.

I can almost guarantee you will get this from amazon UK quicker than Dell Australia lol.

I'd imagine stock has dried up and price increased as they'd probably be shifting to an updated LG panel, or another panel entirely. The model is 2 years old now, and the panel in use is 3.

Their VA variant also tends to be cheaper as pretty much on equal footing when it comes to response times (more black smearing, but zippier elsewhere).

if only these were OLED, then it would have been amazing. Wouldnt mind paying higher.

    • You are free to pay LG $1500 for their monitor.

Lol not that high, you can get a C2 42 for lesser.

I miss the old days when S2721DGF was below $400 last year and this year

    • Even that is quite high. For some reason, this model is quite expensive in AU.
Saw it around 320-340$ in Europe. But the good thing is, other models are way cheaper here. ;-)

converted to AUD? Jesus christ… especially considering that they have about ~20% VAT instead of our 10%..

Yep. Got mine days ago for 300 AUD. :)

I picked up EOFY June 21 for $359, was best price and is still now.

  • Was waiting on one of these but ended up buying an lg ultragear instead, bugger

I hope this model fixes the blank screen that occasionally occurs requiring a power cycle.

    • +1

Omg, this happened to me for the first time on Sunday, and I've had the monitor for 2 years. I only decided to try a power cycle as a last ditch attempt after trying everything else (thanks 15 year's in IT).

      • Same, only happened coupled weeks ago first time for me, ive owned it for 2 years aswell, i was freaking out hahaha

Good price for a good monitor, but personally still waiting on the Dell S3422DWG to be < $540 again!

  • I have the S2721DGF and it was an amazing monitor for the price. I got sucked into the ultrawide craze but I still use it as my secondary monitor in portrait mode (it's way too big for this lol).

Ozb needs to move on. This was the 1440p budget king almost 3 years ago at $500, now its only good - not worth getting over something like the Gigabyte M27Q for cheaper.

    • Except the typical price was around $399 or even lower.

      • +2

I'm talking late 2020 when I got mine for $550 - which was considered a good price.

And yes typically $400 mid last year. ^

So $500 for non-au stock 2 years down the line is pretty hard to recommend.

      Gigabyte M27Q

      BGR subpixel layout though…

I don't have an M27Q, since this steered me away from it when looking at monitors because I'm fussy when it comes to text rendering. S2721DGF is great, 0 regrets.

I’ve got 2 of these and they really are great BFYB

  • Haven’t seen them cheap for a long time

Not to be harsh or anything, but we're not really seeing them cheap here either :/

Maybe it's still worth it for someone looking specifically for this model, e.g. to match existing screens in a multi-monitor setup, but $500 is approaching the limit of what they're worth imo and around where they should be priced normally if not for Dell's over the top RRPs.

Not saying it's a terrible deal necessarily, just not exactly a "bargain" either.
