I've had issues with phone calls cutting out in the first few seconds of calling someone. Not sure what the issue is but a restart helps. Anyone else having issues with theirs? Purchased from the Optus/HN deal a month ago
Went to two Officeworks. First one was a flat "no". The guy was all over the Telstra customer / plan requirement.
Second place the door person looked it up and said yes, but then referred me to front counter to verify. Guy behind counter was also "no" because customer / plan requirement.
At that point I had had enough of the exercise. Glad others had better luck than I.
I will wait and see if another more accessible deal comes up.

The guy who told you "no" was wrong. There is no pan requirement by Testra. There is an option of outright price $749.
You should try again. I think there is no excuse for them to not beat Telstra's price.
Anyone managed to get price match at JB Hi Fi or price beat at Officeworks in Sydney? Kindly list the shop and suburb where it was denied and accepted?
Tried at Officeworks Liverpool who have the 256 Pro in stock but said no because they wanted Telstra to clearly list "in stock"? Bit interesting but didn't push it. They were fine otherwise, even with gift cards

The phone probably is in stock, but there was no clear writing or sign on the website saying that it is in stock. They were ok with everything else including needing a Telstra ID which I had.
@AnotherAsian: I see now in Telstra website they mention 128GB in stock. May be that information is unavailable in Telstra page for a 256GB pixel 7 pro version?

I had no probs to buy 2 x Pixel 7 @ Officeworks. Their price beat price was $711. I used Ultimate gift cards which I had bought at 15% off. These cards I bought using HSBC who give 2% cashback. So the final price for each Pixel 7came to $592. What a BARGAIN!

Bondi store. They had 3 phones in stock last Sunday. I bought 2 just before the store closer. So they might have none left by now unless they recieved new stock.
No, they didn't ask for a Telstra connection or ID. They just checked that it was available for sale on Telstra website for outright purchase.

@jairichi: If you go to any Officeworks, I suggest you first tell them that you want to buy this phone. Wait until they bring it and only then ask about the price beat.
Also, in case they ask about Telstra ID, you may say that nearly all Australians have it as they either have or used to have land line or mobile with Telstra, Boost, etc. And you don't lose your ID when you disconnect. So the sale really is not restricted to a specific category of customers.

@jairichi: Thanks @bob19. I was able to buy a Pixel 7 at Office works, Auburn for $711.5 by following the steps you had mentioned. I used 17 ultimate gift cards which I bought with 15% discount from Coles. Final price for the phone was $605. Thanks to all

My daughter went to officeworks, got the 256gb version for 711 somehow! you milage may vary :)
She was probably lucky that they didn't look at Telstra listing properly.
