  • awww :(

  • Damn just missed out on this. Thanks for sharing op

Buy lodge cast iron pan and you will never look back at these non-stick pans.

They are bit heavy but no coating crap.

Stainless steel like Estelle brand is also excellent.

    • cast iron pans are not non-stick, are they?

      • +4

Just season them and they work like a charm.

      • +3

It is somewhat non stick thanks to the rough surface which makes it hard for things to stick.

    • +10

Nobody is cooking scrambled eggs in cast iron. Not even professional chefs. But for some reason the internet is obsessed with cast iron like it's the answer for everything

      • +1

Well i make my omelette in them and they are the best and i do not have to worry about black bits flaking after some time.

They work best in cooking meat in them and can also be put in oven for that matter.

      • I cook eggs (omelette or fried) in a stainless steel frypan. With good technique, nothing sticks

      • +2

Cooking that takes a while to simmer and uses wine or acids (vinegar etc) should never be done in cast iron because while simmering a slight bitter taste from the iron can become present.

As mentioned by Adam Ragusea for his ragu bolognaise that takes a few hours.

I decided to ignore Adam because all the internet folks keep banging on about cast iron so surely they must be right. And that's how I (profanity) up my first ragu bolognaise. I've got a stainless steel scanpan now it's magnificent.

      • So they're not non-stick?

        • +1

The layer of burnt on oil is non-stick, but you need to maintain it. Re-season it every so often and never use detergent.

  • +3

These are crap , overheat once and you may as well bin , not to mention all the poison you just cooked into your food.
    Cast iron all the way.

    • +1

Don't you have to heat these to ridiculous temperatures for there to be harmful fumes? And I understand that if the coating peels it just passes through the body?

      • +3

Wait 30 years until we find out what this era of Teflon non-stick coating does to the body.

The original Teflon was a chemically harmful lie despite the company originally supporting it. I don't trust Teflon the company

    Tefal Titanium Fusion Induction

Steel clad aluminium pans are not that great for induction.
Skip the aluminium and get proper steel cookware if you have induction.

  • Bought this as I wanted a bigger frying pan than my current Circulon set. The reviews are not the best on Amazon for the actual frying pan and the oven max temp is quite low for a “premium” line.

  • +2

    "RRP $199.95" hah

    • +1

Hah….it’s 32cm for a start. Let’s say it’s RRP would be better set at $99.95. Still a saving of 60+%. A bargain is a bargain.

  • +2

Lol at the RRP maybe a 1/4 of that.

  • Not to start a "frying pan thread"… But, I have a old scanpan where the nonstick has worn off, at this point it's seasoned fantastically and way better than lodges CA pans.

Anyone else tried this? I wonder if there is any negatives…There's no flaking or chips
