Cheaper options on AliEx.
If your coverage on the Vodaphone network is good in the school / home area then yes, they are good for tracking, phone calls etc.
https://www.truphone.com/consumer/esim-for-watch/#plans
This is the only company offering standalone esims for cellular Apple watches in Australia (which can be used without the need for an associated phone).
I used them, the coverage was really shitty. I live in the inner west.
Truphone doesn’t seem very big on identifying its In country coverage
With their plans it includes unlimited talk n txt, but doesnt tell u how much data you get?
I think it said unlimited data
What do you mean
This seemed like a good place to ask as any: So, does the series 8 have CGM already or not? I keep getting mixed messaging between fact and hearsay.
Harvey Norman's deal was just the GPS model, not GPS+Cellular so this is a much better offer.
good deal, if you are buying for your kids or grandparents this is a good device.
And if you're buying it for yourself, go drop $1000 dollars like the rest of the apple fanbois?
I paid $1070 for the ultra after gift cards.
Best watch I have ever owned. I am even typing this off it.
agreed even at full price which I paid
You can browse ozbargain using it??
that's cool as, only thing stopping me from jumping ship to Apple is the lack of USB C on the iPhone, hopefully next year
@yikes914: Yeah that’s fair enough. Been Android all my life but than got a MacBook Pro followed by the iPhone followed by the Apple Watch haha. Integration is spectacular
Cheers OP, got the old man one for xmas to replace his old S3 with a smashed screen!
Price match with jb and pay with discounted gift cards extra 15% off
Hi everyone, can this watch be used withOUT the eSim / cell network? Any drawbacks if it isn't used? ie just bluetooth and wireless connection?
Yes, you can use without the esim, just don’t activate it. It will use Bluetooth and wifi. You must be within 50m in general for the core functionality to work well in Bluetooth range. The cellular model can call emergency services even without iPhone in range in an emergency when the esim is not activated.
Cheers, thanks for the reply!
thank you, OP.
I bought 2.
Bit of a noobie when it comes to Apple. Have iPhone 12 2 kid has iPhones, just bought my son an Apple Watch SE 2022. Any benefits getting the 2022 over the 2020? Obviously this is a good $150 saving over the 2022, to me I like. You can do everything on the 2020 as the 2022? ie apps etc
I have the Apple Watch Ultra, Series 7 and Series 5 - all in rotating use. You can pair over 7+ Apple Watches to your iPhone if need be.
Trust me when I say I’m an expert in Apple Watches. Get the 2022 SE. You lose out on heaps of features, but the core main ones are there and the new crash detection and better gyroscopes easily outweigh the $150 saving. Apple is likely to support it for 1-2 years more as well.
I need some crackers to go with all the saltiness I am seeing in the comments on this one.
Can any one recommend screen protectors and or case for a 40mm SE Watch? Just got watch and I would rather play safe and protect it? They may look a little dorky but I’m not worried about that. Any recommendations?
Amazon have complete case n screen protection for a reasonable price. Saw a 2 pack for just over $10.
Yeah saw them just debating for the price if they are ok, ie is screen sensitivity is not affected etc
Are you good, if you have tried?
Link please
I got these https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/aw/d/B0B666BK55?psc=1&ref=ppx_p…
The watches were for the kids and they havent complained yet since the protector eaa put on.
Regarding screen protectors for these Apple Watches does anyone highly recommend them or certain ones or don’t bother?
I was tempted on the ones that clip over the screen but first thing that came into my head does this scratch the watch is so seems pointless.
As with most devices nice to protect things but a watch I’m not sure if needed unless you was a tradie or something and prone to banging or rubbing watch up against things.
Day to day out and about I’m wondering if needed and looking at the reviews people said watches got scratched.
Mine is 44mm so with these might make it look even bigger.
I did notice there was ones that you can stick on the the glass area only but I’m sure was air bubbles and they was not sure if they come off in shower or swimming which again I probably not do.
I was tempted on the ones that cover who dial area and sides but scratching the watch doing so is a no no.
Wonder why you guys use or not bothered
I'm going to try the $10 ones from Amazon, based on zero information or knowledge. Gut feel screen protectors would come off too easy. I just hope these all in one (case and screen protector) don't affect the touch sensitivity…..I will find out soon
So it looks like this cellular watch from good guys sold out not sure when. I got the larger 44mm non cellular prior to this from Harvey Norman was not my ideal colour well watch part was but wrist band not so much.
In saying that it might look ok once on, as it’s a gift to me not opened up yet.
Then this good guy’s cellular one come up I did not know much about the cellular type only that you did not need phone with you where are the Harvey Norman one I got does.
But know the prices of the cellular I purchased the good guys one buy now think later.
After looking into it and as I’m with boost no esim etc I thought what’s the point of having it, if boost provides an esim soon then great.
So I was planning on returning the hood guy’s cellular one in coming days but I see it sold out and many places including jb hifi sell it for close to $500 so I’m thinking I maybe silly to return it.
Do I really need two apple watches this good guy one yes has cellular but screen is smaller than the Harvey Norman 44mm non cellphone one.
I’m not sure how long you get from good guys to return but seeing that this can’t be purchased from gg and it’s at least $200 more elsewhere I am hesitant to return it now.
Was wondering if you guys owned more than one Apple Watch?
As the gg one is cellular but my boost does not do esim can I use the gg watch in the same way as the non cellular one without the need for esim etc as non cellular you just need your phone lose by.
As i could use the two watches for different occasions one work and non work for example and if or when boost for esim I can then use that feature.
Did you ever try the screen protectors either ones you place on glass itself or the plastic ones that clip over face which I be worried it scratch the watch up.
I ended up buying a spigen all in one, its the band and watch protector in one. No screen protector though. https://www.spigen.com/products/apple-watch-40mm-case-rugged…
Only used for 1 day so far, so far so good
Not sure what you mean it has no screen protector is this not the reason to protect the screen.
Had a quick look so do you have to remove not install your strap on your Apple Watch and put this on so basically it’s providing a strap and what’s it protecting on the watch part itself.
At first I thought it was just for particular apple phones but it was just fancy names but was for apple se 2021.
Mine is 44mm so I’m sure I be limited in choice do you think this is better than ones sold on Amazon which provides ones that I think is plastic and might scratch the areas around face of watch.
I was thinking something simply like the ones you get for phones etc just a film that just goes over the screen.
It’s just so that face areas is more protected but I’m sure reviews said it bubbled or came off.
I do want to put something on it for protection to make it last longer keep it like new.
I yet to take mine out box as found out I need wall chargers so ordered them from bigw.
It’s a band and case all in one. You don’t use your Apple band provided. Since the case is slightly raised the screen is not as exposed but no idea how well it will be without a screen protector. A lot of screen protectors don’t sit right etc from what I’ve read so I’m but getting one ….. yet…. Probably will after I scratch it lol
@dazzza: A few things I read about protectors the film type ones not this brand is the peel off or lose sensitivity when on.
Yes this is just adding to my overall cost buying extras on which I got the apple se 2021 on offer.
But it was the Apple Watch SE 2021 44mm Silver Aluminium Case with Abyss Blue Sport Band - GPS I got.
I was not to keen on the blue colour but might be ok when on, I thought the face part of it looked ok but might have preferred a black band or something but as said the apple se 2021 can’t remember it’s name more of black colour was already gone by time i decided to buy.
Wife said if I did not like colour i could always change the band but as said it might look ok once on.
I do like protection on screens no matter what it is m, as once screen is scratched there is no turning back.
Even devices I have always owned be is Samsung phones, iPads, iPhones have all had some rugged or all over protection.
The iPhone SE I use now has the supacase which has all over protected.
iPads in house all have rugged ones can’t remember the actual brand names.
But devices always look like new still underneath.
This watch would not be used for work im in that industry it would just get damaged an old cheap watch does job for that.
It’s just keeping the watch clean, protected and last longer which is key.
Yes maybe these film protector is all I need but on what I have seen don’t really work that well.
There is I’m sure not heaps of choices for the 44mm types but was drawn to this one which I think is similar or same as yours I believe you have a different Apple Watch?
But when it comes to compatibility it says se 2/se
I take it means these are for the se new release 2022 and the older 2021 or should I say 2020 even though it was sold as a 2021?
https://www.spigen.com/collections/apple-watch-series/produc…
I read some reviews maybe one or more about band being to big and had to punch in more holes and was still same, does it provide wrist size do you know?
Last thing you need is strap to loose.
Most reviews are great but you do get the odd few bad ones I suppose you can never keep everyone happy.
Is this an Australian site or from USA I am familiar with the company but can’t remember where they are from as if was to order getting it sooner than later would be good.
Yes as per your comment no protector on that item not sure if it’s a good or bad thing it has the edge on it to protect it but still very exposed.
But it does bring a new look to the watch, I not been into these bulky style watches you get that look similar so I’m not sure if I will like or not I suppose it hides your wearing an Apple Watch which might be a good thing. But then it nice to show off your watch also.
But with my colour of band that’s with mine yes might look fine on but it was not my number one choice I just had to grab the deal at time and face part looked nice to me.
So with this one I’m thinking that sorts that out my watch have the blue band and this item will make it black.
Is it soft material not going to mark and scratch your actual watch when installed then removed.
I’m not sure how these screen protectors would be.
https://www.syntricate.com.au/collections/apple-watch-series…
As for the Armor rugged case I see I was on the usa site now it’s finding best place to get within Australia the site above had the green one on offer but not black one.
no ecg no deal
but is this good for a preschool kid for tracking purpose?
