Seems like a great deal for those of us not looking for a laptop. Barbone system converts to aud$850 including free shipping. Can pick up 32gb ddr4 ram and a 512gb ssd here for about $200 so $1050 for a solid computing system. There are some gaming options too like ryzen 9 + 3060 on special but I only need computing power so works well for me. Looking at benchmarks, this is seems to be on par with a desktop i5 (12th gen).

The product page is extremely detailed. What i5 do you want a comparison with?
As the post description above 12th gen i5. This CPU is only 45 watts, being the h type. So the transformer doesn't need much amps.
Still seems to me that an i9 should be somewhat more powerful than an i5? Meh.Desktop i5 mate. This is not a desktop cpu.
Can't compare a mobile CPU to a desktop one.
@Aeongrave: Correct.
Different strokes for different folks.
It uses less than half the power, but has 14 instead of 10 cores, and has almost twice as much L2 cache.
I'd personally pretty something like this for work, than a beast burning through power for no real value.
Intel Core i5-12600K
Single Thread Rating: 3977
Average CPU Mark: 27745Intel Core i9-12900H
Single Thread Rating: 3864
Average CPU Mark: 28756Yep that's what I meant.. in terms of benchmarks. Overall the system seems cheaper than i5 systems I've seen with comparable specs.
Mobile CPU's are no were near as fast their desktops counterparts with the same name in performance.
Power limited.. not the same ammount of cores ext ext
If it had a desktop i9-12900, the power adapter alone would be around the same size as this entire PC.
Great name op😊😂
What, Misinform-U ?
Where's the gaming one ?
It says order will be shipped Mid-Jan and they seem to be located in Hong Kong. The pricing is in USD. I'd rather take a local vendor anyday.
just curious about the tax. It is USD, and how much will be charged if we ship it here?
Same thoughts. Because this is less than AUD $1000 I don't think there'll be any import taxes or customs fees.
https://www.abf.gov.au/buying-online/buying-onlineI think I might get this…
Thanks! It looks like if you only order one, it will be under $1000 AUD and will not be charged with GST.

What a small form factor beast. I have the Minisforum HX90 (5900hx, 64gb RAM), and run Unraid on it with multiple running VMs with GPU passthrough on one of my VMs to my TV which I use as a emulation gaming PC.
This 12900H outperforms it quite comfortably https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/4728vs3903/Intel-i9-129…
I got the EliteMini X500-5700G Barebones a few months ago for work from home duties and it has been an awesome little productivity box…
Depends on the chassis, cooling and TDP. Anything below 45w TDP and performance tanks on the 12900h. If you want something low power from 10w to 45w TDP, AMD Ryzen is the only real option in the X86 space with similar performance.
But can it run Crysis?
Yes, as soon as you can accept 540P or even lower resolution.
Just saw rep on i9 12900h is usd617… More than this entire system

is it a good gaming choice for 1080p?
Sorry I got no idea.. I need computing power for number crunching. It has an igpu and I linked a YouTube video further up showing it playing games
This is an i9 on par with an i5?
It seems short on detail and limited.
