Flew with them 2 weeks ago and they didn't charge for meals. Although not as great as I'd like but better than the nothingness of a budget airline.
They don’t charge for meals even now. It’s for extra luggage or lounge access..
I meant to reply to wildweasel - 'They' referred to full-service airlines; some like Virgin Australia are now charging for meals
I wonder if your luggage goes missing as easily as their planes.

Very disappointing experience in my recent travel, they diverted the route to different airport in India where no one from Malaysian Airline to help or any arrangement for 10hrs of layover. It was difficult with Kids. Flight from Malayasia to Indian (different city than destination) airport was also poorly managed they went over capacity and were asking to carry all your laptop and electronic items in hands while checking in the cabin bags! Very bad!
Delays and mess do happen, but they way they refuse to manage it was pathetic.
I can't seem to get the discount for Golden Lounge, they're charging the normal price.
