    Note Lithium Ion not LifePO4

    • Not at all clear what the chemistry is.
There are inconsistencies between the seller's website and the distributors website. Then there appears to be things that don't make sense in the specifications.

its an nmc battery, meaning low number of recharges before it degrades. Echoflow just came out with the river 2, which is an lfp battery, should be available in oz in a few months.

  • Thinking of buying this for my parents, they live in an area with regular destructive storms that can knock out power for hours if not days at a time. Primary use would be having their NBN equipment and router plugged into it 24/7 to ensure that stays running almost like a UPS, and then also having the option to plug the fridge for a bit to avoid having to get the generator out unless it's a long blackout… I know 576Wh isn't that much, but with the solar panel kicking in during the day does anyone reckon this would work?

    • Wouldn't nbn go down also if they have a black out?

      • Not if you have an ups running, you’ll be sweet!

      • FTTC connection which means passive fibre all the way to the end of the driveway and then the modem inside the house powers all the connection equipment. As long as the house has power the connection will stay up and running, which is useful for long blackouts where the mobile network starts dying when the tower batteries run out (usually after about 10 hours or so).

People with other NBN technologies aren't so lucky though, FTTN will die after a few hours once the batteries at the node go flat, and HFC won't work at all during a blackout.

This is ok for NBN but won’t handle most fridges. It doesn’t have much capacity and can’t do high powered equipment (like compressor start on fridge)

      • Cheers for the info, didn't even consider the draw of the compressor start to be honest, may have to abandon the fridge idea then. Another commenter said the new ecoflow units coming next year will have LFP batteries which are a lot better for charging and storing at 100% (which will be the case if it's to act as a backup for the home network) so I may hold off until next year anyway.

      • This is incorrect. During the last blackout in Adelaide I used this to power both my chest freezer and full size family fridge for two hours. Maximum draw on the battery was 250w. But that wasn't the best part.

Once it was depleted I was still able to use it while it was plugged into the car (while the car was running) to power our gas hot water system enabling the whole family to have hot showers. And then because it had charged a bit on the car was able to recharge all of our devices.

These "were" great. There's a few different flavours at this price point - most good ones use LiFePo as others have pointed out - NCM batteries (i think these use them) are good for about 800 times before hitting 80%, vs LiFePo at 3000 recharges.

Bluetti and Ecoflow generally are your coke vs Pepsi brands. Generally Ecoflow is a bit pricier.

For 560Wh this is expensive. I bought the Bluetti EB70 which gives you 760Wh for $800 recently.

This is an old version - they've introduced the Ecoflow River 2 in the US so it will hit here in the new year - River 2 has LiFePo - and also has a bentley price tag too.

  • I wonder if this would be able to power a fish tank air pump, heater and filter in an off grid fashion..

  • I own these sets (w/ 160W solar), great for camping and great customer service

  • Anyone got their order shipped yet? Looks like they have allocated everything except the solar panel for me but nothing has been shipped yet.
