I see people suggest to go with Series 9. Costs $100 more though.
I've had this model for over a year. It takes a good 2-3 glides/ strokes to get the majority of hairs, I found shaving every third day is the sweet spot as my stubble isn't too long but not short enough to miss.
I purchased a Braun beard trimmer attachment and it's great for keeping my beard at a neat length, the blade attachment that comes with the model as standard is great for trimming, grooming and getting the pesky hairs I can't seem to get.
I have had an ongoing issue with the travel function, you hold in the power button for 3 seconds and it locks the razor so it can't accidentally turn on. Sometimes it automatically locks and needs to be connected with the charger and working power to unlock, Phillips said it would need to be sent back to fix- wasn't worth the down time.
There's some good advice and comparisons on this site:
Slightly OT, but I've noticed a number of non-genuine cartridges for the Series 7 popping up on ebay, at a quarter of the price of the genuine ones.
Has anyone tried these? Are they as good as genuine?
I got one of the cheap non-genuine cartridges for the Series 5 and they were absolutely useless, worse than the worn out genuine one it was meant to replace. Luckily I was able to get a refund and threw it in the bin and bought a genuine one. Someone else may have had better luck, but I would avoid.
Just some feedback on a non-genuine cartridge for Series 7…. they aren't great.
Lots of missed hairs, even after going over multiple times.
I would avoid.
Is this good?
