$639 price is ridiculous for something this size no matter how "smart" it is. but it's Braun and they are known for high quality with good design.

the size is 17cm x 17cm x 8cm and it's a mono speaker so keep that in mind.

I would consider this a $300 maybe $350 if pushing it Bluetooth/WiFi speaker which is discounted to $152.

it supports Airplay 2, Chromecast and google voice assistant which might be a upside or downside. I prefer if it wasn't smart so I could just charge it and connect to bluetooth.

They did legit make good speakers in the 50s to 70s from memory, but I don't recall any speakers after that. Until these came out 3 or so years ago.

  • they also have LE01 HiFi Stereo Speaker with WIFI, white
    -72%
    AU $792.00
    instead of AU $2,799.00

only 3 in stock though (in white) and I think they are probably best paired in stereo. a bit rich for ozb anyway.

also smaller one only 1 available.

LE02 Premium Stereo Speaker with WIFI, black
    AU $552.00
    instead of AU $1,599.00

  • Current stock levels:

    LE01 - White - 3 @ $792
    LE01 - Black - 5 @ $990
    LE02 - White - OOS @ $1,279
    LE02 - Black - 1 @ $552
    LE03 - White - 2 @ $152

IDK how accurate levels are because I swear I saw some of them change down then up.

  • This or a Sonos of some variety for a simple home speaker?

    • At least you know who manufactures Sonos and when sh!t hits fan, you know where to vent. Who manufactures “Braun” nonsense?

These look cool.: But honestly they are old dated products with mediocre sounds. They have been this same price for the last couple months. I didn’t think it justified a post given the quality of sound.

We did sell these for 12 months and there was a number of returns and we ended up dumping all the stock back in the supplier.

The current RRP is a joke, they jacked their retail prices by around 30% when we sold these which essentially put the last nail in the coffin.

    • Why do people return them?
What do you think is better in that price range?

      • Why do people return them?

probably because they think it's not worth the money for $447 RRP.

I included it in the description but it is a 17cm x 17cm x 8cm speaker. not very big.

    • Are the LE01s worth it for $700 a pop?

    • I didn't think they looked particularly cool. I mean a bit weird for a speaker even the expensive ones look very thin? from the side.

it being square is also kinda bad because it's thin you could bump it and it would tip over. I actually prefer if it was a rectangular shape, and stereo instead of mono.

I watched a youtube review of it, they said the sound is very clean. in otherwords not very bassy compared to your usual speakers from JBL etc. some people prefer the clean sound. I prefer bass.

they jacked their retail prices by around 30%

ok so normally $639 x 0.7 = $447 RRP. to be fair I would say it should be priced at $300 to $350. and then discounted on sale.

      • It’s the style of the original Braun audio from years ago.

People returned them due to build quality mainly.

  • No Spotify connect by the looks?

    • not sure try looking up what the setup process has to offer. might be tough to find though because there is so little reviews on this speaker.

afaik it being "smart" with Google voice assistant means google home is inside (like a google home mini) and i think they support linking to spotify. but not sure it has all the functions like a google home mini which I have. you really should find out first if you want to buy.

edit: just from a quick search I found this which shows two LE03 and the Google home app. so I think at least it is an optional setup process.

Spotify on google devices : In the Google Home app, tap Account. Tap Settings. Tap Music under services. Select Spotify to set it as the default music player for your Google Home.
