    • I didn't follow the links above and instead just purchased the $200 SIM for $170, I went via 'Shop Now' in the top left of the Cashrewards Boost page. This should still track, yeah?

Edit: I got an email from Cashrewards saying the $30 has been tracked so it should be fine.

      • +2

Great to hear re tracking. Ye, what you did is totally fine. Posted the links above to avoid issues with members clicking away or having other tabs open etc. Just want to ensure everyone gets their cashback :)

        • Thank you!

    • Will there be any upsized cashback for Woolworths mobile this Black Friday?

    • +1

Very near to $199 mark for the 260GB 12-month pack. Still waiting on sideline to hit $199 and eSim become available

      • Happy New Year!

  • +1

How long does it take to receive one of these sims in Melbourne?

    • one week for me

    • Ordered twice in this month. Took 4 and 5 days respectively, including a weekend in between.

    • Hi! Once dispatched, you should receive your order within the following business days:
Metro Areas – 2-5 business days for capital cities – Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Canberra, Darwin, Hobart & Brisbane (order before 4pm).
Non Metro or Regional / remote areas – 3-7 business days

i a risk of not been pay. My previous cashback is tracked but not approve. Still waiting for respond.

    • +3

Every Cashrewards Boost cashback up to and including Sept 30 has been approved - provided you activated within 30 days of order. These are done in blocks, and all orders made since Oct are nowhere near estimated approval dates yet - unsure what your concern is. Thanks.

      • Hi @tightarse, I activated the boost sim purchased in the previous deal. However, there was some problem with the sim and I had to get a $2 blank sim and get my number activated on the new sim instead of the one they sent me. Will I still get my cashback? Apparently, the original sim was activated at their end correctly, but it wouldn’t work in my phone. So the call Center advised that it was probably a faulty sim and I had to get a replacement. Will be good if you can advise what happens to the cashback in such cases? Thanks!

        • +2

If it happens to decline down the track, please let me know and I'll go it batting for you as I/we have a very strong relationship with Boost. And after all, it wasn't your fault :)

          • @tightarse: Thanks TA ! Love your work!

          • @tightarse: @TA - came here to report that my boost cashback for the bad sim has been approved by the system.

    • All my Boost CR had approved. Not one missed.

  • +1

Seems you'll need to activate by 28 November (clipped from Things you need to know)

All data offers are valid for new customers only who activate or first recharge by 28 November 2022. $30-$70 Offers: First recharge by 28 November 2022 and third recharge by 24 January 2023.

    • +4

This is only for the additional data advertised by Boost. For cashback, you need to activate within 30 days of ordering. Thanks.

      • Ordered the 240GB SIM today (NSW). Any idea how soon should I get it? Aiming to activate it so I can get the additional 20GB data on it. And does it need to be activated before 28th November or can it be activated on 28th November to get the additional data?

        • +1

Sorry, I'm a rep for Cashrewards (not Boost). Hoping their rep will jump on here at some stage to answer questions. Many thanks :)

        • I have the same question, would love an answer on this from Boost ^

          • @Anon257: From my chat with Boost:

If you will purchase the $300 sim, it has an activation data of 20GB extra. Data offer valid for new customers only who activate by 28 Nov 2022. That means, if you activate it on or before 28/11/2022, you can get the 20Gb activation data.

If you activate it after 28/11/2022, only the 240Gb that you will be getting.

            • @Trishool: Thanks for the info! I'll activate mine tomorrow then

      • Would you happen to know what happens if you activate after 28 November? It does not say on the Boost website or I must have not seen it, do I just not get any data on my 40GB 28 day sim?

  • Probs stupid question but I can swap my number onto this right and it counts as activated? Like I don’t have to activate some brand new number and be stuck with it?

    • +1

      Yes you can port in

  • +1

Can i top up existing with this? Or is this a case of having to port out/in?

    • F

    • fairly sure port out and in is the only way

      • +1

I'm not sure this still works. As of recently, Boost now require you to do the license/ID check at purchase time, so seems to me you can't purchase a new Boost plan while you are an existing customer.

        • +1

Actually just checked with a Boost rep and it appears it is a new constraint now that anybody who has been a Boost customer in the last 3 months (even after expiry) can not get any new subscriber deal. So goodbye Boost!

          • +1

@bulletmark: Maybe your experience is only related to 12 mths plan.

  • +2

TA, bring back this deal please!!!

    • Maybe Friday or Monday.

  • +3

Shame about the 30 day activation requirement, I've still got free months left with belong.

    • can wait for few more months. They keep coming every now n then.

Waiting q -> thats where you belong :)

      • +2

Yeah I'm not complaining. Between two belong starter packs bought with telstra points and the 'free' sim plans via cashback, I haven't paid for my phone service all year! I feel endebted to the Ozb community. 😇

  • +1

May I ask if I can still get the deal if I am an existing Boost Mobile customer? Unfortunately my current 12-month prepaid will only end after 83 days.

  • Can't checkout. Too much traffic. Psh.

    • There's only been 225 clicks on this deal, hardly would be considered as a lot of traffic.

  • I’m currently using Telstra, but I need to port out to a different carrier to wait for a deal with Telstra again. Does Telstra consider a number with Boost to be a new “port-in?” I understand Boost uses Telstra’s networks.

    • +1

      Same-network porting can be slow,
so that's why people avoid that risk,
and get a $2 SIM from a rival network,
      to do the port-out/in.

      • That makes sense. Thanks!

  • They can take a while. I still haven't received my sim from the deal 2 weeks ago.

    • Sorry for the any delays! Have you tried contacting our customer service team to check and follow up?

  • Dear Cash Rewards Team,

I cannot spend any more, till I get this sorted, How long will it take you, thanks
YOU must have hundreds of Aussies buying them each month, are you underpaying them all?

    1. The cash reward for the 19-07-2022 BOOST purchase should be $10 and NOT $5.95 as listed, can you please correct that as well thanks
Over 1100 clicks on this website page that advertised the bonus:
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/713825

    2. The cash reward for the 17-08-2022 BOOST (2x) purchase should be $9 and NOT $6 as listed, can you please correct that as well thanks
Over 1100 clicks on this website page that advertised the bonus :
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/719205

    3. The cash reward for the 13-09-2022 BOOST (2x) purchase should be $17 and NOT $6 as listed, can you please correct that as well thanks
Over 1100 clicks on this website page that advertised the bonus :
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/724435

    thanks for your time

    • Why not message TA directly or email the CR support about these issues?

    • In addition to private messaging TA or emailing CR support as @Trishool mentioned, you could also use the "enquire" function on each transaction and provide any supporting information (e.g. Email confirmation showing timestamp of your purchase)

  • This may be a dumb question but is the $9 deal ongoing or just for the first month?

    • Its for the starter pack which includes a recharge for the first month.

  • @Tightarse

What happens when we try activate on day 30 but the activation system is down for maintenance (literally just happened to me)?

    • @tightarse You tagged the wrong tightarse, I've fixed it for you :)

    • +1

      And dropped the cashback

  • Which ones better amaysim or boost? I am coming from lebara sim. amaysim has 180gb 1 year plan for $100 with $17.5 cashback

    • I am going with Amaysim. Will use Boost to go from Amaysim to Boost and then back to Amaysim.

      • +1

what do you think of Kogan sim its pretty cheap too. saw it for $165 for 500gb 1 year

        • To each to its own. Depends upon your data requirement. For me 150GB per year is enough.

        • +1

Got a teenager who seems to eat GB of data…..trying the 500GB option to see if that is enough!

    • Without a second's hesitation, Boost. Full Telstra network and speeds. 600Mbps download speeds at night? Sweet.

  • keep having error when checking out

    • Hi! What error are you receiving?

  • Just a quick one.. can’t find the answer: if I only use it for a month.. does the cash back still get granted or do I need to use it for the entire period? 3 months or so..?! Thanks!

    • +1

Just the first month has been enough for Boost cashback

  • how do i buy another 1 year recharge for my existing 12 month sim thats about to finish

    • Port-out existing Boost to rival network SIM.
Then, when signing up new Boost SIM,
choose 'existing number', which will be "port-in" from rival network.

I am pretty sure that's how I did it last year, but I've forgotten it now
and funny thing is, I need to do this myself, in a month!

      • Seems like a massive pain in the backside - would be great to be able to get some discounts for existing customers :/

      • +2

Boost have recently closed this loophole. Now you have to provide your license/ID check when you purchase (not just at activation) and Boost prevent you from registering for new customer discount deals for 3 months after your sim expires.

        • wow…really ?
Is this Boost's way of not giving the deals to "returning customers" ?

Personally, I don't mind, if I don't get any new deals or bonuses (from Boost),
but as long as I am able to get the 12-month SIM at a discount.
          That's my aim really…and with cashback, it's a bonus.

  • Thank you OP, don't want to ever miss out on these free deals!

Thanks for posting this. Have finally rid myself and my wife of Optus!!

Woolworths Mobile 30 Days 12GB $1 ($8 - $7) after cashback. Possibly 24GB upon activation due to double data promo.

    • Thanks, definitely worthy of its own post.

However, WM did some tinkering of their website last night (as it was down with an error), and now the CR activation link ends up on a 404 page. Hopefully that doesn't affect tracking.

Edit - tracked within a couple of minutes :)

      • I got a "Problem in Aisle 6"

  • Thanks I S P !

  • Yup cant check out

    • Hi! Can you let us know what error you are getting?

  • @tightarse I bought 2 $9 sims in one transaction before seeing the "Multiple SIM purchases need to be made as separate transactions. Adding more than one SIM to an order will result in an untracked purchase." special terms … and I got the tracked message saying $9 cashback will be paid. When I do activate both sims, will I at least get $9 back or will I get $0 because the tracking will get confused with the 2 sims?

    • You’ll get one paid for sure :)

      • Cheers - not worth the hassle to cancel and re-order, $9 cashback is good enough. Thanks for the prompt reply!

  • Hm wondering if I've left this a bit late. I'm interested in the $140 SIM with 140GB, but as mentioned above it seems to indicate if you don't activate by 28th of Nov you'll only get 130GB. I know it's only 10GB, but as I'm in Melbourne like another poster there's a chance the SIM won't arrive until at least Tuesday. Is that offer likely to magically continue after Monday? If it didn't arrive until say Tuesday, is it possible Boost might add the extra 10GB if you online chat them? (assuming you can do that)

  • +1

Does anyone have any tips on getting discounts on Boost recharges? Thanks in advance :)

  • +1

Tried several times since this afternoon, used my phone and computer and different credit cards. All get error saying "Sorry, we are unable process your order. Please try again later."

    • Hi there! We’re sorry to hear you are experiencing issues while trying to place your order. This is most likely related to fraud triggers that are automatically set in place by our order processing platform and other providers like your Bank and Credit card in order to avoid fraudulent transactions. We understand this can be highly frustrating when trying to place a legitimate order, but this sits outside of Boost’s control.

Below is a list of indicators that can affect how your order is flagged in different financial systems, which can hopefully help you understand what is going wrong:

      • Are the characteristics of this order similar to non-fraudulent orders observed in the past?
      • Are the characterises of this order similar to an order that was placed recently?
      • Is the card verification value (CVV) correct?
      • Does the billing address match the credit card’s registered address?
      • Does the billing address ZIP or postal code match the credit card’s registered address?
      • Was there more than 1 payment attempt?
      • Was the payment made with 1 credit card?
      • Does the billing country match the country from which the order was placed?
      • The IP address used to place the order isn’t a high-risk internet connection?
      • The browser used to place the order isn’t a high-risk browser

Based on the above, we suggest that you take the following actions when trying to place an order:

      • Check if your ID details are correct
      • Check if your payment details are correct
      • Enter the delivery address manually
      • Try to place the order using a different personal device
      • Try to place the order on a different browser
      • Try to place the order using a different payment method
      • Try to place the order using a different email address

If you continue to have the same issue, our customer service team may be able to help you at [email protected]

  • Can you buy as port but later decide to activate as new number?

    • +1

You choose whether to port or get a new number when you get the SIM and activate it.

  • When is this typically dispatched?

  • I have tried to purchase this in 4 individual transaction and they only allows 2 and getting an error message :(:
"Sorry, we are unable process your order. Please try again later."

  • 260GB sim now with $45 cashback

  • @tightarse
Can I purchase this with my details e.g my name and number at checkout, my license ID etc but then use it for my parents mobile e.g. port their number in. Just not sure whether the ordering process is locking that number you put in to check out to the sim?

    • +1

I dont think ID validation is needed for purchase. You can activate under anybody later.

      • +2

At check out it started asking for drivers license ID, phone number etc

  • Some good news for those travelling, despite everything that Boost and Telstra say: you DO get to receive SMSes for free while roaming!

  • I'll take 140GB for $133
