Ah, what better way to prove your OzB worth than getting your $1 trolley coin through this

    40GB, 28 days SIM*

    • Just to confirm guys, the Wi-Fi calling from overseas feature doesn't work on boost prepaid sims. After I saw few postings that it was working for some members, I got a $30 sim and activated it before heading overseas. But it never worked and after chatting to multiple agents on boost/telstra website, they confirmed that the Wi-Fi calling from outside Australia is not available. Yes, my phone is Wi-Fi calling compatible and works locally.

      • Anyone can double confirm?

      • -1

And what exactly is going to be this WIFI calling be important for in overseas for ??

like does it not charge you international roaming or something ?? if not then I dont really see any benefit of it overseas.

Will i receive cashback if I switch to another provider after 30 days?

    • +2

I did the same and received cashback last time.

  • +5

On the way ordering 100 of these to score $100.

    • +2

ASIO will come knocking on your door.

      • +3

Looks like they're gonna be busy then…

  • +3

I do SIM slutting with the $1 30GB Kogan SIM.

Guessing this will also do the trick for me :D

@[Deactivated]: port out - port back in…rinse and repeat.

            • @Windows7forever: Do you need new email address each time? And can you keep using the same number?

              • @Owgasm: I recently tried porting a number back in on one of these after 30 days & it blocked it so you cant just swap the same number in & out every month. I just use them with a new number for the data.

                • @mitt: Thanks for the info.
Just to confirm, did you port out to another provider or did you finish the 28-30 days then port into it again?

                  • @Owgasm: I was with amaysim> then kogan 30 days> then boost 30 days> then I was blocked moving back to kogan. I am now on a vodaphone sim for 30 days.

I got the kogan sims back when the student deal was 1c per sim. With cashback & assorted deals I dont think I have spent more than $1 total on mobile service in months.

I remember reading somewhere that kogan considers your number a new customer again after 90 days but I cant find the post again.

                    • @mitt:

                      then boost 30 days

Are you sure it was 30, and not 28?

I remember reading somewhere that kogan considers your number a new customer again after 90 days but I cant find the post again.

                      I thought it was 30.

                      • @Colin2905: I waited 2 days with no credit in case it was 30, still wouldn't transfer. Perhaps if I waited another day it would have worked but I ended up giving up & swapping to a voda sim I had sitting in a drawer. Ill try again once this voda sim runs out.

                    • @mitt: Pretty sure kogan only needs 30 days to be considered a new customer

    • So another free GYG burrito for you then?

      • How did you know :D

      • I think they check devices. I used same phone to register with a new number but didn't get the free burrito.

        • Damn, worth a shot anyway. I've had two from two numbers so far

          • +1

@adrianhughes1998: Me too, didn't work with the third account

            • @RTY: :(

            • @RTY: Can confirm it worked with the third account. New burner email address

              • +1

@adrianhughes1998: thank you I will try again tonight. I used the gmail + method for burner email

                • @RTY: Fingers crossed. Used the same phone for all three yeah just email address is completely new and so is phone number. Should work I'm guessing

                  • @adrianhughes1998: It didn't work. Used new phone number and username+gyg@gmail method, email said free burrito but in app there's nothing.

                    • @RTY: :( it should work if you get the email, I had to get out then go back in for it to appear each time. Maybe has something to do with the phone, I'm using a Xiaomi so maybe they can't local track, but I thought they should be able to.

You're using a completely new email address to confirm as well?

  • TA, is there a limit to this?

    • +1

Activate within 30days is a big limit

      • +2

Have activated within 60-90 days and had no issues with CB.

    • @tightarse please confirm whether we can purchase multiple and have it tracked?

  • +1

I have a fleet of x,xxx, xxx, xxx IoT devices that only need data for a month.

  • +1

Thanks Clear. Got tracking straight away too.

  • I have a international sim on my phone which I can't remove(bank account stops working in i removed it) , so have to live on esim for local network.

They need to step up in brining esim to all carriers

    • +5

why don't you grab a cheap phone just to keep your international SIM working? That would have saved you so much hassle!

  • +3

Last time boost ran this promo, many of us had issues with the sim not being in stock and unable to be delivered within 30 days. I ended up doing a charge back on my CC around 5 weeks after purchase as advised by boost support. Hopefully you all have more luck but I'm giving it a miss this time round.

    • Did you still get cashback?

      • Boost never sent my sim. Here's the previous promo from May for those interested. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/693113

Edit: The delays seem to be a consistent theme judging by previous posts.

    • I got my sim but never activated it. I still got my $12 cash back

  • Whats the used by date???

BUT it does NOT make sense, is it $9/month x3 months or $9 first month

  • I signed up with Exetel on 02/07/22, $110 cashback still hasn't showed my account yet. I sent a claim a week ago and no reply so far. What can I do?

    • yeah Cashrewards will just ignore it unless you keep spamming them hehe

      • +1

can't comment on the boost deals but I've always found that cashrewards have been very good at honoring deals, sorting cashback for purchases that fail to track, even the recent pizzahut debacle they gave everyone a free $10 credit to compensate

        • +1

They are better than shopback for sure !!

        • I had no issues with cash rewards and PH

But had issue with PH and SB in past

    • Received the email, they manually added $110 to my account.

  • Glad I waited lol
    Bought and tracked. Thanks OP

  • I had a lot of trouble porting my number in and out of boost, from and to separate provider. Thinking it might be problem on Boost's side… Usually it took a few hours max, but for Boost it took over a week with follow ups.

  • Am i blind? I can't find it…

  • YOU mean there is NO limit on how many SIMs cashrewards will allow per account???

    • I am unable to place my 2nd order from boost anyway. Give it a go and let me know :)

      • DONT you have extended family members??? ;)

  • OP, there’s no $9 SIM. It’s the $30 SIM discounted to $9 after applying BOOST9 code

    $30 SIM for $9, plus $10 cashback

    The mods edit was correct

    • BOOST9

but this is just the cashrewards part heh

    • +1

The title is still worded incorrectly. It makes it sound like you're getting $10 cashback off a $30 SIM when the SIM can be had for $9.

      • +1

I agree, its looks like buying a sim for $20, and does not talk about a $1 profit..
not sure why the promo code is not there too.

        • -1

Mod: removed duplicate offer from deal

          • @BargainsGrabber: It's still possible for them to make it more clear that they need to combine your deal with this deal to get the cashback.

It's not a popularity contest around here for the most votes, vote averages and front page deals. Disappointing some see it that way.

            • @Clear: Lol, yeh I’m more than happy to link your deal to mine as well. I’ll fix my deal description to include yours.

I’m not fuss with the internet points. I’m on OzB to help ppl with deals, not to gain popularity votes etc

              • +1

@BargainsGrabber: I've asked the mods to make it more obvious because we all know people don't read much further than the title. You were correct that there's no $9 SIM so I'll take the blame for that.

I'm glad you see the other stuff the same way :)

                • +1

@Clear: No worries, hope your discussion with the mods resolves well!

Happy to help in any matter if it needs fixing on my end too :)

      • +1

        I agree with you Clear.

The real bargain is when the promo code and the upsized cashback are combined, which enticed me to click on your deal and buy.

If I see the current title "$10 Cashrewards Cashback on Boost Mobile $30 28-Day Prepaid Mobile Plan (Was $9 Cashback)", I would simply ignore it because I'm thinking I have to pay $20 for a SIM card, which is not really a deal.

        • +1

That's right, but because there's already another deal on the $30 SIM for $9 the mods won't allow it in the title as it's a dupe. I've suggested an alternative title to make the deal even more clear so we'll see what they say.

Ideally they would have preferred if I didn't post at all.

  • +1

I only got $6 cashback from the same previous deal (meant to be $10)! Cashrewards is not as trustworthy as it used to be… massive issues when claiming from groupon (that company is a disgrace)

  • +1

I hope they have stock this time around as the SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering

The last deal like this here they were out of stock and many did not receive the SIM within the 30 day period. At least TA on that occasion came to the rescue noting that CR would still honour it in good faith.

Wish they would change this to be 30 days from being either Posted or Received to save all the kerfuffle that above deal caused!.

  • +1

How long does the number stay active after the 28-day expiry?

  • +3

Ah still haven't used some of those Kogan $1 SIMs…

Now this for negative $1, and I won't need NBN for a year or more.

    • +2

Kogan ones finish at 30/11 btw

  • Is there a CR limit?

  • what if you buy and NOT activate??? hehe

    • You miss out the Cashback.

  • Tried a few times and keep getting this message- "Sorry, we are unable process your order. Please try again later."

    • tried various cards but no good

  • +3

Looks like their site got ozbarganed, getting an error message

    • Been getting the same for the last hour and a half.

  • +2

I suggest getting this through the CR app. Didn't track for me last time.

    • Couldn't order through website - tried 3 times - "technical difficulties"…
Order went straight through in app

  • When will Boost get eSIM?

    • I contacted Boost and they were unable to give any ETA for eSIM.

  • How long does it usually take Boost to send out their SIMs? Other companies seem to do next day or at least within 3 days.

    • +2

The one I ordered last Wednesday (13/7) arrived yesterday (18/7). I'm in Canberra.

When they have them in stock, it usually doesn't take long. It's when they don't have any left in stock that things seem to go really pear-shaped.

    • Ordered on 15/7 and received on 20/7. Melbourne metro

      • Good result here too. Ordered 19/7 mid afternoon, In letterbox (Melbourne) this morning 22/7 ex Sydney.

        • Did you get tracking details ? Or updates ?
