From a few comments on OzB & Reddit, the vacuum hardware itself seems fine the app is hot trash. Apparently, it frequently loses its map, or makes no maps/rooms for no reason etc.
I've no idea how Xiaomi performs though.
Yep can confirm. I’ve got the Ecovacs DEEBOT 920.
Vacuum is quite good, actually does a great job. But the app is the worst piece of shit ever. Absolutely no function to save or back up a map. You’re at the whim of the robot ‘remembering’ that it’s in the same map/house every time you start it.
Then it’ll randomly add rooms or remove rooms and for some reason you can’t manually split/merge them.
Only fix it to relearn the whole house which means you gotta tidy everything up, take as much off the ground as you can, and let it run for hours.
Then if your house is big enough that it can’t do the whole thing on one charge, you gotta let the little princess stay on charge and DO NOT INTERFERE or you need to start again.
Happens only like 1% of the time but can you tell it’s frustrating enough? Haha
1%? I wish mine was only 1%
My T9+ does it probably 5-10% of the time. Along with other random behaviour like frequently doing repetitive circles in certain spots, for no reason. Or sometimes getting lost going home to it's home base, or taking 6+ attempts to redock itself.
It's pretty annoying when it does a mapped room then comes back to finish it off later, like it suddenly remembered it had to finish off an old room. But like you said, the hardware itself is fine, the smarts/ai, mapping and app are all trash.
@Tamagotchi Breeder: Do a random breath test!
The Deebot X1 Plus is $1487 at JB HiFi
Hmmmm… looks like the Plus is a markedly different product. Also $1500 for a robovac (the Turbo) that doesn't empty its own dustbin?
https://smartrobotreviews.com/s/robot-vacuums/ecovacs-deebot…
Yeah, they really went ham with segmentation. Plus is auto empty dust, Turbo is auto mop washing, and Omni is auto empty and auto wash.
Something wrong with either the price or the model in the Amazon description.
The X1 Omni normal price is $2499
The X1 Turbo normal price is $2099these prices from the official Australian Ecovacs site.
If you checked the right store? It shows X1 Turbo $1499, X1 OMNI $1999 now. Prime free delivery. Also you can have a look eBay official store, the same price.
yep, official site is:
$2499 reduced to $1999
https://www.ecovacs.com/au/deebot-robotic-vacuum-cleaner/dee…$2099 reduced to $1499
https://www.ecovacs.com/au/deebot-robotic-vacuum-cleaner/dee…the turbo was never $2499 on the official site, that is the Omni' normal price, so there must be an error on the Amazon site if they were charging $2499 for the turbo model.
Oh don't mind the orginal price. We all focusing on the Black Friday price…
First time hearing Ecovacs. Is the performance better than its Xiaomi counterparts?
