Amino Z Whey Protein Isolate 4kg $147 Delivered + $50 Credit ($65 Club Z) + 30% off Amino Z Supps @ Amino Z

2560
OZB-BLACK

12 Months of Radio Silence…

We haven't posted a supplement deal in 12 months, despite numerous requests to do so. So I feel I owe everyone an explanation given the tremendous support we have had in the past.

With all the major supply chain issues (and seriously inflated ingredient prices), we simply have not had the stock to be able to put any worthwhile deal together. We have however been planning this deal for about four months so we could ensure we could offer something that I hope is of value to Ozbargain.

Thank you to everyone who have continued to support our brand over the past year. It has certainly been challenging, but we are continuing to improve our offering and a lot of this has only been made possible by this amazing community.

The deal

Deal Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32URfnlwNyg

Amino Z Whey Protein Isolate 4kg for $147 Delivered + $50 back in store credit
+ 3 months free Club Z membership (or an extra $15 credit for existing paid Club Z members)
+ Free Grenade Spread (Best before 31 December)

Plus some other features:
Amino Z Micronised Creatine Monohydrate 1kg $37 Delivered
Amino Z Ultra Shaker $3.50

Amino Z Capsules/Tablets (60s) $17 delivered: Acetyl L-Carnitine, ZMA, Tribulus, Ashwagandha, 5-HTP, Horny Goat Weed, Sleep Well
30% off any other Amino Z and Bandito Labs supplements

Coupon code: OZB-BLACK (add in shopping cart)

Flavours

We have released 2 "Oz" flavours specifically for this deal: Oz Choc Banana and Oz Choc Caramel

In total we now have 19 flavour options - all of which have been vastly improved from last year.

All flavours are naturally sweetened. I hate the "natural tax" :) Some use stevia, others use thaumatin as follows:

Stevia: Oz Choc Caramel (sold out), Oz Choc Banana, Cinnamon Icing, Aussie Choc Malt, Mango Sorbet, Choc orange
Thaumatin: Coconut ice cream, Choc coconut, Choc Mint, Chocolate, Smooth Milk Chocolate, Vanilla, Vanilla Birthday Cake, Banana, Strawberry, Creme Caramel, Peanut caramel cookie (sold out)

Product Breakdown

  • 100% Australian made
  • Per serve: 29.1 - 24.4g protein / 0.3 - 0.9g fat / 0.4 - 3.4g carbs (varies between flavours)
  • We only use WPI in this protein - this is not a blend.
  • Protein is grass fed, added hormone free, ultra and micro filtered and cold pressed
  • Soy free - we use sunflower lecithin instead of soy lecithin (soy is common in whey proteins)
  • Manufactured in our own NSW Licensed Food Facility in Sydney
  • Backed by our 110% guarantee. Try it and if you don't love it, we'll give you 110% back (in store credit) or a full refund (including delivery). As I mentioned in the video, we offer this so you can try the product risk-free. If you've opened it up to try it we're not going to make you send it back either.

Other Notes

  • We pack these into 1kg pouches. Choose the multi-flavour option for 4 different flavours!
  • All our WPI now has the new zipper packaging.
  • To view the full nutritional panel, just click on the "NUTRITIONAL INFO" tab on the page and then select the flavour.
  • Store credit is assigned as "Z Points" to your account within 1 week after your order ships. It can then be applied to any future order that you place.
  • Best before dates will be 20-24 months away. We turn this product over very quickly so all current stock has been produced recently.
  • You will get free delivery on your entire order when you order any Amino Z or Bandito Labs supplements.
  • There is a limit of $50 in store credit per person (+ $15 for existing Club Z paid members). You can order more than 4kg of WPI, but the store credit will be capped so we can stay in business!
  • To apply existing store credit (Z Points), at checkout, select the option in the "Payment Section" to apply your Z Points.
  • The 30% discount will be off the full price before discount, not on the already discounted price.
  • Store credit does NOT expire. Also, you do NOT have to be a Club Z member to retain your store credit.
  • The 3 months of Club Z will not automatically renew, unless you choose to subscribe. Your membership will be applied within a week of your order being shipped.

A word of thanks

Thank you again for the ongoing support of our brand. The feedback we have received has been tremendous and has allowed us to continue to improve what we offer to you.

Many people have reached out to me personally by email to provide feedback and this has resulted in many further significant product improvements over the past 12 or so months.

As always, I will continue to engage via this forum and email because there is always room for improvement. Thank you to anyone who takes the time to help out!

        Sounds promising, thanks!

  • Thanks for the deal. Any flavors you'd recommend Jay? I've tried Choc Coconut and Choc Orange. I like them but figured i'd try something new.

    • My pleasure, thanks Raptur3!

The new ones are the two that begin with "Oz" (we made them for this deal). So if you like choc banana or choc caramel, give them a try, I liked them both.

Our other new one is vanilla birthday cake. I do recommend this one.

Taste is always going to be subjective. My personal favourite is crème caramel, I think it tastes just like the dessert. But in terms of popularity, all of the chocolate flavours are super popular.

I hope this helps, but let me know if I can further assist.

      Jay

  • Hi Jay

ON has had serious price jumps lately (I see again this week) across the market, is this brand limited in promotional activity in the near term?

(Assuming ON margins are not as heavy as other brands)

    • Hi Bluedot. Yes they certainly have had some massive price hikes. Really the only thing we can offer on ON is our more common site-wide deal (currently 22% off orders $199+, or 20% off smaller orders) - and this is for the foreseeable future. I would suspect most other retailers will be in the same boat with margins the way they are.

They (just like everyone) have been hit with all these major ingredient price hikes and so prices have gone nuts. We have the 4.5kg ON now for $249.95, whereas not long ago it was around the $160-$170 mark.

I hope this helps to explain what has been going on.

      Jay

      • Thanks for that
I did see Serious Mass jumped up across the market to $139.95 last Thursday. The guy in my local supps store said they can’t even get markdown promo funding from the supplier anymore margins are that tight.

I hope for your businesses sake that the price of Ingredients falls again at some point in the near future.

        • No worries. And yes, that sounds about right. Even though Serious Mass isn't pure protein (being a gainer), the other ingredients in it have been impacted by all the inflationary pressures too. Plus the cost of freight (as that is an imported product from USA).

The frozen berries I get from the supermarket have almost doubled in price too.

  • Might be a silly question but - is there any way to open the bags without cutting through the top seal? For the life of me I could never figure out the opening method (if there is one)

    • +1

Certainly not a silly question, we've been asked this a few times with the new pouches.

I do have a video here - please check it out and let me know if this helps. I admit it's not the best video, but I did this since we had a few people asking about this just like you have.

But you will need to cut through the top initially.

      Jay

      • Thank you! Yeah that's what i've been doing :)

  • +1

Good to see supportive comments on here, can't be worse than Myprotein's two month expiry protein at least. Will make a purchase soon.

    • Thanks for the upvote and the support of our brand semaj94!

      Jay

  • Cheers Jay, Loyal Aminoz Fan here. Love your products, probably the best in the world without a doubt ++

You guys should explore international markets such as US/Canada and maybe use a bit of influencer marketing like GymShark.

    • Wow that's a massive compliment, thank you thimothiz!

You're right, GymShark do a killer job with their brand.

Even though right now we are only in Australia, this is something worth exploring for us. Part of the challenge about being a small business are limited resources and so we have made the conscious decision to stick with Australia for now, at least to avoid spreading ourselves too thin. I would however love to take our Aussie brand overseas at some point!

      Thanks again for the support!

      Jay

    • The marketing is not so much the issue im sure.Direct cost, manufacturing, direct cost and shipping. Hard to compete with others if they (the competitors) all already have infrastructure in place.

      • +1

Yes this is certainly a challenge, especially when you don't have the economies of scale as some larger companies have.

        Jay

Amino Z is great - I have been a Club Z member for just over a year now.

I don't like shilling, but it's a great company with good products.

    • Thanks so much for sharing this publicly Jr64, it means the world to see how happy you have been in dealing with us. Thank you for your support!

      Jay

  • +1

Whats the difference between the sweeteners?

    • +2

      Thanks for the question lonewolf.

Both are natural sweeteners. Thaumatin is actually a protein (about 2000 times sweeter than table sugar) while stevia is non caloric (and about 200 times sweeter than table sugar). But both sweeteners are used in minute amounts, so calories will be negligible.

Probably the biggest difference based on our feedback is the aftertaste. Some people are particularly sensitive to a stevia aftertaste. In our experience it's less than 1 in 10 people that notice this, and even less that find it particularly unpleasant. Thaumatin doesn't have such an aftertaste.

So if you don't like stevia, go for a thaumatin flavour. If you don't mind stevia (as most do not), then I'd suggest to choose from any flavour.

      I hope this helps!

      Jay

  • Hey thanks for making the post, I just placed an order for the wpi and was wondering when the deal ends? Want to see if I could use the $50 store credit for creatine or if the 30% discount ends beforehand :D

    • Hi cakez, thanks for asking.

At the moment, we're running this until Cyber Monday. This may change, but that's dependent upon how our stock levels go.

Our last few deals we sold out completely and had to end the deal short. We are hoping that we have better planned for this one, but there is a risk of us selling out prematurely.

The credit will be added within a week of your order shipping.

So I cannot guarantee that you will definitely be able to, but it may be possible.

      I hope this helps.

      Jay

  • Hey @aminozcomau, I had it last deal and enjoyed it . Got it again and will try teh cinnamon and new birthcake flavour!

    Thank you

    • +1

Oh awesome, thanks for the order reachdigital! I'd love any feedback you may have on these flavours. The cinnamon goes well in smoothies if you're ever mixing it with anything (I have this mixed with some greens in the morning).

      Jay

  • Amino Z is my go to. Shame I still have 2 and a bit Kg left. Choc Mint and Aussie Malt Chocolate (imitation Milo) are my favourites. Next time… even without a deal. :)

Insert "revoke his OzBargain license!" comments.

    • LOL love it, thanks for the ongoing support HcNguyen111!!

      Jay

      • Yeah damn, FOMO got me. Just got myself 4kg anyway.

  • Hi Jay, how the "extra $15 credit for existing paid Club Z members will be applied to the account" please ?

    • So if you're already a Club Z paid subscriber, when we credit your account, we will add $65 of store credit instead of $50. It's added as Z Points, which you can use a discount on any future order. Simply select to apply the Z Points at checkout (you must be logged into your account).

I hope this is of help, thanks for asking!

      Jay

      • Hi Thanks for the quick reply, stocking up now :D

We’re all gonna make it bruhs

  • Possible for us to get the Oz Choc flavors in 1kg bags?

    • Absolutely. Under this deal, choose the "Multiple flavours" option. So select the 4kg size and if you choose "Multiple flavours", just select whatever you like - each is a 1kg size.

But if you just wanted a single 1kg bag for $39.95 delivered (normal price), you can choose them under the 1kg size option.

Does this help? Please let me know if you need any further help.

      Jay

      • Yup, I must have missed the Oz Choc flavours in the 4kg multiple flavour option. Going to order now, thanks!

        • No worries. We had a bug about 20 minutes ago on this which I fixed up, so that may have been it.

But if you have any other challenges please reach out. Thanks for the order!

          Jay

  • Thanks Jay! It has been a loooong time!
Placed the order for WPI - Choc Orange! Best flavour and mix with Chobani low-fat greek yogurt IMO!

    • Cool thank you for the order almnd! I can't say I've ever tried the choc orange with Greek yoghurt…I must give it a shot. Thanks for sharing!

      Jay

  • When does the $50 credit hit your account? At checkout it says I only earn 147 Zpoints.

    • +1

Thanks for asking. It will be added to your account within a week of the order being shipped. The total amount will be $50 (or 5000 Z Points).

I hope this helps, please let me know if you need any other help.

      Thanks for the order too!

      Jay

  • Is it free shipping with code or is there a minimum spend? Keen to get some new shakers

    • +1

It's free shipping on the entire Amino Z and Bandito Labs supps range. This is with the exception of the shakers ($3.50 under this deal). But if you order any other Amino Z branded consumable supps, it will ship for free. This includes the WPI, creatine and capsules/tablets featured in this deal.

Otherwise, we have the free shipping threshold at orders $120+. So if you need enough shaker bottles you might make it :) Or anything else that we sell.

      I hope this helps!

      Jay

  • I made a order, thx for the deal. What sort of expiry can we expect on these WPI 1 kg bags?

      Thanks for the order gogo1234!

Dates should be generally 20-24 months away from now. It's all very fresh stock.

      Jay

    • Thanks Jr64. Vanessa will get onto that as a matter of priority. Thanks!

      Jay

  • Hey Jay, thanks for the promo.
Never used you guys before but definitely remember seeing deals in the past, love your customer service and answering all questions. Great prices too, considering the current market.

    Ordered my first bundle :)

Hi stygian, thanks for the feedback and for placing an order with us! I really appreciate you giving us a go and would value any feedback you may have.

      Thanks again!

      Jay

  • Are you able to confirm the usual expiry periods on the protein powder? thanks

    • Yep, they are all best before and should be 20-24 months from now. Thanks for asking!

      Jay

      • great, thanks for the quick reply!

        • My pleasure! Thanks aceaceace1234.

          Jay

  • Yay you're back, thanks for the deal! Just had a few questions.

    1. How does this compare to the 'Bandito Labs Whey Protein Isolate?'
    2. Do these come with the same bag zipper as used a year ago (when I last ordered around the same time)? I'm unsure if I was using it wrong but the zipper kept coming off or would stop zipping the bag entirely.

Otherwise great work! Would've loved to try the 'Peanut caramel cookie' flavour but guess it'll have to wait for next time - too many good flavours. Cheers

    • +1

      Thanks for the questions NoiceMemes!

So our WPI is naturally sweetened and with a lot more flavour options. The Bandito Labs range is not natural (uses sucralose) and the flavours are far more limited.

We do have the same zipper. This was a bit of an upgrade from our previous zip lock bags (because powder used to get caught and it wouldn't re-seal), but it still does need improvement. I've got a video of re-attaching the zipper at https://www.aminoz.com.au/amino-z-zipper-pouches (in case that helps).

But we are currently trying to find a better packaging option.

Thank you so much for the support and feedback NoiceMemes!

If you're open to feedback and since its a bargain forum… can you please get rid of the '10% PRICE BEAT GUARANTEE' (to a maximum of $1)
None of the supplements you sell are <$10. It would be far less misleading to just say "$1 Price Beat", which accurately reflects what you do.

    • +1

100% we're open to feedback and thanks for sharing. I'll take the good with the bad.

Just in case there is any confusion, the price beat is up to a maximum of $1 that we will beat the other business' price on other brands. For example:

If their price is $100 and our price is $105, then we will beat them by the lesser of either $1 or 10% of the difference. Since the difference is $5, 10% of the difference is 50c, so we will offer the product at $99.50 (beating them by 50c).

If they have free shipping, we'll also offer free shipping.

But just for clarity, the product doesn't need to be under $10. It's just that we beat the competitor by a maximum of $1.

We did make a decision to cap the "beat" at $1 so we can still offer you a better deal, but still remain in business. Sometimes the price beat was so great that we would be losing too much money and as a result it was unsustainable for us as a small business.

If we're not transparent about the $1 cap, please let me know how we could improve clarity here. I'm happy to take this on board and discuss further with the team. Thanks OpticalCog.

      Jay

      • +1

Imo but just drop the "10%" from the main page/badge and leave it as "Price Beat Guarantee". I've defs gone to more effort to save a buck, so it's good you have it (especially with the auto-match). Just think you should keep the 10% for where it is explained in detail as being 10% of the difference and capped at $1. Might be alone on this one given the negs just think it could be more transparent.

        • +1

Thanks OpticalCog, I appreciate the suggestion.

Let me discuss this with our team before we make any changes on this, as I think our customer service team will also have some insight. My initial thought is that we look at renaming to something like "Instant Price Beat". Then further explain 10% of the difference, capped at $1.

Thanks again for raising this, I agree with you that transparency is very important.

Also thanks for dropping the neg :)

          Jay

        • +1

Just a further update on this, I just had a discussion with Vanessa on this and she did say that there has been some confusion surrounding this, so you're not alone.

We have just implemented a change from "10% Price Beat" to "Instant Price Beat", and this will be reflected on the website over the next 24 hours as the cache updates (main page already updated). I think that's a lot clearer on the basis that we only beat 10% up to $1 (explained in the details), but is applied to the order instantly without the need to make phone calls or emails etc.

Thanks again for the feedback on this, it actually wasn't on my radar as a major source of confusion until this sparked some internal discussion.

          Jay

  • omg omg AminoZ deal!

I don't normally get flavoured, but the coconut ice cream is yum! Will try maybe another flavour this time too with 4kgs…

Wanted to say what an Amazing product you guys have and more importantly your service is top notch!

    • Thanks Chivalry! Thanks so much for the support and the feedback! I'll be passing this along to our customer service team, they will be chuffed!

      Jay

  • Just ordered and noticed that I got the white chocolate cookie flavor grenade spread. Would it be possible for me to change it to the hazelnut flavour? No stress if not but I'd prefer the hazelnut flavour. Thanks

Hi puzzles2, sure - please send over a PM with your order number and Vanessa will be able to fix this up for you!

      Jay

  • i think i will give this a go. I normally stick with Gold Standard Double rich choc but the prices are obscene.

Any recommendations for a similar flavour?

    • Thanks for giving us a go CheapAddict!

We do have a few chocolate options available - chocolate and smooth milk chocolate. The chocolate is the less milkier of the two, but you can order both if you choose the multiple flavour option.

      I hope this helps.

      Jay

      • Holy Guacamole you guys are fast. I just ordered yesterday and already out for delivery today.

        • Fantastic! I'll pass this over the warehouse team, they went above and beyond to get these orders packed on time (our manager got in at 2am yesterday to get a head start on shipping the orders!!)

How sick am I going to get if I finish off a bag that I just noticed expired in August? lol.

    • i would do a couple years if its dry

  • +1

First up, highly recommend these guys, the product is awesome quality and the service is fantastic.

Flavour recomendations: Aussie Malt Choc is amazing, milo incarnate. My favourite.
Iced Coffee - wife is addicted - I enjoy it but some times find it a bit sweet
Vanilla - just an awesome base flavour, I use it in baking, smoothies etc.
Mango Sorbet - I really liked this one, but it is a bit of an acquired taste i'd imagine.
Creme Caramel and choc banana were both solid too.

Jay, to echo some of the feedback here, please get a bit more transparent with the marketing, I hate getting emails with coupon codes that don't actually do anything, and are just inviting me to your regular pricing anyway. You guys have an awesome product and give amazing service, but if I didn't already know that I honestly would have bailed because some of the marketing lately has felt quite scammy.

Also, I asked for a sampler of cinammon dougnut in my last order (6kg) and got nothing :( I'd be happy to pay for a sample but not willing to roll the dice on a whole kilo, can you add samples back to the orders please?

    Cheers.

    • Hi Dandaman21,

Great feedback, thank you for this.

Yes a few people have mentioned along the lines of our pricing structure and I am going to be having an in-depth discussion with the team about this. Our original objective was to have "everyday" low pricing on our Amino Z supps range, so effectively auto-applying one of our highest "usual" discounts to all of our products. We can't do that on the other brands we stock (most brands really don't like if we regularly advertise a discounted price).

On the flip side, we don't want to offer discounts only on other brands, and not our own. But by doing this, we have caused some confusion with some customers.

Can I ask, what would you suggest from your point of view? I'd love any suggestions, because this is definitely something worth us taking a hard look at.

In terms of samples, our last sample machine broke and so we're currently trying to source a new one so we can start our sampling once again. Can you PM us your details though? I'll ask Vanessa to arrange something for you so you can try out the new cinnamon flavour.

      Thanks again for this.

      Jay

      • I'll add some comments in as a regular customer. None of this is stopping me from buying your products incidentally - they're fantastic, and I've repeatedly praised you guys here and offline not only for your for great value and tasting supplements, but for your great customer service. Unlike a lot of businesses, you actually followed through with the 110% guarantee on the one occasion I had an issue with a product's taste, without a moment's hesitation.

To anyone on the fence reading this comment, I'd strongly recommend you give them a try - they are the best by a country mile!

Nevertheless, on previous purchases I've seen discount codes (generally for Amino Z products) promoted on the top of the webpage. However, when I've tried to apply the code, it doesn't work, or an error pops up. The first time it happened I spoke to someone via chat and was told that the code wasn't valid for my purchase, although I'm quote confident that I met the requirements for its use. If it was just a once-off then it wouldn't have been a problem, but it's happened at least twice since and I'm very sure that on each occasion the code was valid for my purchase (either the correct product, or minimum spend). It wasn't being auto-applied either as far as I could tell, it just wouldn't work. As you can tell, it didn't stop me buying your excellent WPI and other supplements. But all the same, it was a little disappointing that I couldn't use something being advertised right on top of the page, and it's possible that some potential customers may have been turned off by the codes not working.

To fix it, probably all you can do is a bit more testing beforehand to make sure the codes are being correctly applied to eligible purchases - not a foolproof solution, but maybe it'll identify any obvious mistakes before it turns off prospective buyers. However, if it's a case of the code being auto-applied, maybe make that more explicit when you get to the checkout. Perhaps even have the error code state that the discount has already been applied if it's done automatically, but someone is trying to type it in a second time.

And I'll second Dandaman's comments about emailing out discount codes that don't change the standard pricing. When there isn't a specific sale on, you're probably better off advertising the low everyday price and high quality products - there's a risk you'll get fewer clicks through to the site from the newsletter, but you might avoid prospective customers leaving without a purchase, and believing that (justified or not) you're trying to trick them into buying stuff at normal price.

Anyhow, an absolute cracker of a Black Friday deal today - thanks again, and look forward to buying your stuff well in the future!

          Hi punkindrublic,

For starters, thanks for the praise, this really means a lot.

I'm going to assume that this was in relation to our Amino Z products. Please let me know if I have misunderstood.

I absolutely love your suggestion here in relation to having an actual code auto-apply and making this more obvious through the checkout process. At the moment, we have an automatic discount apply, but there is no code associated with it. So it makes sense as a customer to question why a code cannot be applied when none currently exists.

As I often joke about to our team, things often make perfect sense to me when I go ahead and code something in…but I'm stuck in the business and understanding this from a different point of view is very eye opening.

Do you by any chance remember which code(s) didn't work in the past? If they were 20% (or lower) discount codes on Amino Z products, this would explain why. Clearly this would be what we need to fix. I agree that this is not going to be transparent enough to you as our customer and will of course result in a poor experience.

I also take your point about promoting more of an everyday low price and removing the emails that won't provide any further discounts. 100% agree and I will be working on this once we get through this Black Friday whirlwind.

Thanks so much for this insight and I would love any feedback to my comments here - whether we would be on the right path, or if I've totally missed the point.

          Thanks again punkindrublic.

          Jay

          • @aminozcomau: No worries Jay, and yes, my praise is definitely for the Amino Z products! I can't recall the code details as it was some time ago, but I think the discount would have been 20% or lower - that probably explains what was going on.

Just to reiterate, it wasn't a major issue by any means, but if it's an easy fix on your end it might help reduce some confusion. My feedback is definitely a case of how to make an already great product and service even better - your engagement in this thread alone is amazing, and is a step above most businesses, including ones whose reps engage with OzB users.

Best of luck in the lead up to Christmas, and thanks again for yet another excellent deal!

@punkindrublic: Fantastic, thanks for that punkindrublic!

I think we're on the same page and I will be going to the drawing board on this matter once this all settles down. You (and some others) have raised some very valid points and I do feel we can improve in this area.

Thanks again for the insight and for the ongoing support!

  • Hi All,

How does Aminoz compare to bulk nutrients?

For either whey concentrate or isolate. I haven't heard of them before and only really buy from BN.

    • Obviously I am biased on this one, so I'll leave this for others to comment on!

Any chance you gonna add some digestive enzyme to your stuff in the future? I tried uprotein and its much easier on the stomach. I am not lactose intolerant, so its the protease in the protein doing its magic.

Thanks for the suggestion John Doh. We have had this suggested to us a few times. At the moment we don't have any firm plans, but it is currently under consideration as we are always trying to improve our range.

I'll be passing this along to the team, I appreciate the suggestion!
