  • Good price. Does this come with local warranty?

    • Trying to find out as I write this…will let you know if/when i find out.

    • And also being from the US would it need some kind of converter?

      • Voltage: 220-240 V
        Hertz: 50-60 Hz

        • Sorry, I'm totally stupid in this area, but does that mean you just need an adapter for an Australian socket?

        • +1

Means you may need an adapter so the pins fit, but no transformer is needed. A cheap $2 adapter will work fine

        • +1

          220-240v is fine for Australia.

        • +3

They'll have an Australian plug (with the nanny state insulated pins, lol)

        • Correct me if I am wrong, but isnt Australia electricity rated at 240v with 50hz?

        • Australia was standardised to 220V in 2000. Even though 240V is still the general name used for mains AC here.

        • +1

          230 V

        • Close but no cigar.

As per AS 60038 the Australian power standard is 230V @ 50 Hz as of 2000.

      • -1

This would not be Australian stock & all American websites that post to Australia that also sell Kitchenaid machines have the listed on the item "Cannot be used in Australia, not Suitable for Australian Voltage System"

I've also heard a lot of stories of people buying the US Kitchenaid machine & it only working for 1-3 months then it dies. I was told its because the electrical windings need to be changed for the Australian market.

Caveat emptor. "Let the buyer beware."

        • +4

The 'electrical windings' that need to be changed are if the machine is a US kitchenaid with completely different voltage. My limited googling suggests that this requires a transformer which is generally a several hundred dollar additional cost. I've been tempted with cheap kitchenaids before but they've always had a) exhorbitant postage and b) US voltage so would require serious alterations/additional cost here and never quite work as well for as long a life.

In this instance the voltage is confirmed to be Aus voltage, so your comment is not relevant.

In addition, you don't even need to use an EU adapter on the machine as the plug has been confirmed to be an Aus plug.

Understand your comment may have been intended to assist others but I want to correct some things you've said in case you have people who have already purchased worried (like I was before I rang and confirmed the specs).

  • That's an amazing price for a kitchenaid mixer. They're usually $600+?

  • Was looking at the page… Started at 14 left, refreshed.. said 11 left, decided to refresh again and then it went back up to 29! So now it says 29 left… weird.. must've added more stock?

    • Now 47 left??

      • Yep its all over the place. First post as well? I'm a bit funny about this one. Amazing price though

        • +2

First time poster but long time OzBargainer :)

        • you're trying to get that gold badge arent u! =P

        • Gold badge? i'm intrigued :)

        • What gold badge?

        • I'm on the SoSharp mailing list (didn't notice the original deal) but got an e-mail from them last night about 7pm saying "Selling out OVER 800 SOLD | Incredible KitchenAid Mixer $345" Either they have a lot more than the original 47, or Eight Hundred people are going to be dissapointed!

  • Cannot select Colour but I'm in for the deal!

    • Apparently you send an email through but I'm wondering whether this is a first come first serve basis? I.e. red will go first.

    • How much was shipping?

      • postage included

  • Can't find much info on http://www.sosharp.com.au … has anyone had any experience with them?

  • +1

Has anyone bought off these guys before? Reading the redemption says

Please email [email protected] with your preferred choice of colour, SoSharp voucher, and your delivery details and the item will be posted to your door!

Does this seem a bit dodge or am I just being overcautious?

    • I have bought voucher type stuff off them before with no issues.
This makes me feel marginally better…

  • great price if this is a genuine offer..

  • +3

Now there's 47 left. They must be growing and harvesting them.

    • +6

I might buy a couple to use as breeding pairs and then sell the offspring!

  • Tempted to purchase but seems a bit dodge and the item left keeps reseting.

  • I just buy one… no color to select

    • read the instruction in the voucher emailed to you

  • Take a look to see if you trust them:

    http://www.linkedin.com/company/so-sharp-corporation-pty-ltd

With photos we could always organise an OzB mob if orders go wrong.

  • Excellent offer. Never seen it so cheap before…and Australian model.

  • Once you make a payment, they will email you the voucher. Then you need to redeem the voucher and select the colour from there.

  • Great price! Got one!! Thanks OP!!

  • Well, too good an offer to pass up for me, lets hope its genuine.

  • Bought one as well, thanks to OP. Finger crossed…

  • Bought one. If this comes off I will have one very very happy mother-in-law! If not I will have a phone call to Amex to reverse the transaction.

    • +8

….. It this comes off I will have one very happy mother-in-law……

      is this ever really possible??

      • +1

I'll let you know in a few weeks/months!

  • bought 2

  • It's a great deal if it's genuine. Hope there's no catch for the sake of you guys who purchased. No need for one so won't be purchasing.

    • +1

oh you are an ozbargain veteran - you feel the need to state a reason why not to buy a $350 kitchen appliance that you have no need for !!

When I bought a $9 printer, my wife said - why did you do that. When she saw it actually arrived, she said "why didn't you get more?" !!

  • +1

For those concerned about the legitimacy of the seller, i will say that I've heard some 'mixed' reviews about them!

    • +1

That doesn't really help unless you're trying to put them in a negative light. Though to add to the confusion:

I don't know how they got my email address (maybe I signed up some other deal, as OzB there's too many to count) but I receive their emails now and again.

I also don't know if I unsubscribed or not, I thought I did (bad memory) but nothing has really interested me in their deals before.

I would just be worried about warranty.
      Are they offering local warranty?
Do you have to pay to ship it back?

Edit: These guys got my email address from a dodgy source because all junk emails I get have the same wrong name for me. I have unsubscribed and they kept on emailing me and I reported them to ACMA.

      So they have dodgy practices.

  • -1

    500 Internal Server Error

  • This seems to be the company behind the deal
    http://www.panda2u.com.au/home.html
I'm guessing they've had a client liquidate and have picked up stock really cheap, or something along those lines. Lets see if it comes off.

  • You guys must be handy in the kitchen. The women must be all over you ppl. :)

  • +2

This deal seems a little dodge to me, buying a voucher not the product, why is that? I really want one, but something is telling me not to do it.

  • After credit card entry I'm just getting: "Updating information, please wait…"
    Been minutes now :(

    • Yay, I tried again and it worked this time.

  • bought and paid for 2, voucher only for 1….
yes yes I know I know, before some of you start saying "max 1 voucher per person you turd". Well they shouldn't let you add item on the checkout. Will have to wait and see….$345 is just too good to pass.

    • i did the same thing.. i imagined the voucher would say QTY 2.. hmm

    • It does actually say "Unlimited vouchers may be purchased as gifts" though

    • "….$345 is just too good to pass."

But it is also too good to be true! :-) Goodluck!

      • they sell for $295 on Amazon… hardly too good to be true

        • Thats not the Australian one.
I bought one for my wife a week ago for $625. Trust me this deal is extreamly good… I am just not sure what she would do with another one… :-(

  • i'm also starting to think this is a scam.. anyone able to get through on the phone ?

    • Yes I spoke with a lady on the phone. She showed me the steps on how to redeem the voucher.

  • "If you love to baking" inspires confidence. I'm torn, want it but know nothing about either company involved.

  • Long time lurker, have just signed up to comment and keen to pick up this deal.

Have been waiting on phone for a long time - keep being asked to leave a message.

Any confirmation of warranty info or how colour selection will work?

Anyone called panda2u directly? There is a mobile # listed on their website.

    • yep spoke to a girl at panda2u,she insisted it's all legit. Those that purchased more than 1 should make note of this in the email.

  • Really torn as to whether to buy it for my sister in law… don't want it to be a fake/scam/etc..

  • +2

Where on the site does it say how many are in stock?

  • Just got through to sosharp.

1 year warranty. If merchant runs out of preferred colour, they will refund or may be able to offer you your preferred colour next time they offer the deal (it sounds like they will run this deal next week as well - at least that's what the person on the phone said).

    • Doesn't sound like it's Australian stock warranty. KitchenAid AU website states:
Full 3 month replacement warranty plus 5 Years parts and labour against manufacturers faults for domestic use.

      • +2

I think the US warranty is full replacement for one year. I wonder which is is?

If it's Australian stock I wonder if it could really be the 3mth/5yr warranty instead?

Meh, I will self-warranty with the $400 I am saving.

    • I have used a gold credit card as they usually have good protection and give you a 1 year extension on the waranty.

  • Wouldn't the purchase be protected if you paid through paypal?

  • Hi just ordered and sent email to [email protected],
anybody received a reply confirming receipt and colour, assume everyone is going for red too?

    • How did you get your voucher, I orderd one but have not got a voucher.

      • +2

My voucher was emailed to me within seconds of the purchase.

      • check your spam folder

      • Mine is the same, paid by Paypal, voucher emailed within minutes.
Emailed the voucher to Panda2u, haven't received reply email from panda2u though.

  • once I bought it through paypal, got an email with an attachment voucher.pdf.

  • I never got the voucher emailed. I did however just find it on the website under account info / vouchers.

  • just bought one and they emailed me the voucher straight away.
Paid through paypal, seems ok so far.

  • Got one.

If people are worried about the company, why not just pay through paypal??

  • Any confirmation about whether this would be Aus or other plug? Or additional info on warranty from panda2u?

  • +3

Can you attach a drill bit to this thing?

Would make it much more versatile.

  • where does it say how many are left? i can't see it anywhere.

    • +1

they've removed the stock count and just replaced it with 'available'
