    • mixer feeling

      intentional pun?

      • :P
        Glad u catched it

  • this group purchaser has sold fake stuff before- beats headphones.

    • Really? I can't find any reference to this on Google anywhere?

  • +1

    Hmm.. http://www.sosharp.com.au/index.php/terms-conditions

    1. Liability
16.1. Except if and to the extent required by law in respect of SoSharp's supply under this agreement, SoSharp accepts no liability for issue of refunds in relation to the goods or services supplied or to be supplied by the third party provider in accordance with a SoSharp voucher. Where SoSharp is liable, its liability shall be limited to the provision of the minimum remedies required at law.
    • Uhmm… sounds like once they provided the "vouchers", they are legally done with the deal. Buyers will need to deal with the "providers" from there on…

Goodluck to all buyers. Please keep us updated with your purchase.

  • +6

    Spoke to sosharp.

Warranty is 1 yr, is local warranty. First contact will be sosharp, who will contact the merchant on your behalf. Merchant will then post a 'returns package' to your address which covers return postage of the mixer to them. They will repair or replace as appropriate.

Confirmed this is an Australian plug, not European or other.

Also re sash213's liability comment - standard clause to limit liability to that required by law. Elsewhere in the terms they state refund circumstances which all seem very reasonable.

  • Looks like a good deal, but worried about legitimacy?
Do you get any buyer protection from Amex, Mastercard or PayPal? Is one better than the other? Eg. If the product doesn’t arrive OR if it’s a knock off?

  • Checkout their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/SoSharpMelbourne and look at peoples comments about using vouchers, dodgy numbers etc

    • No Facebook acess at work…whats the gist of the comments??

      • +1

A few about phone numbers for deals not working, vouchers not received, ITEMS from the vouchers not being received and even when a new number given it still didn't work. Then there is an interesting comment from the CEO's wife acting as a customer? and they awarded her Reward Points - weird! and then I just noticed they still have not announced the winner from their November 2011 LV competition, even though people have asked - could all just be inexperience but to me its not a good way to do business and raises a red flag or 2 for me. There is just not enough there to back up good business, not many testimonials, if like the Wife of the CEO they could be getting a handful of friends to be leaving the very few good comments etc - I want one badly but am staying away from this one.

  • -1

I've bought one of these… as long as their rated for 220-240V voltage the plug is just a little adapter you hardly notice it. 2 Years on without any problems. If you want the full warranty… pay twice the price… up to you :)

  • I ordered one but will not positive vote until i hear back from my email, as this is sounding like it could another SEAGATE 2tb gate. :) hope it comes through

  • Just ordered one. I am hoping that hundredthree is right about the Australian plug. This is a great price! Got the confirmed email and voucher straight away after purchasing it via paypal. I hope all goes well!

    • Hi Tuhan, do you mind to enable your private message. I would like to ask you about buying a new mattress :)

  • Not sure if they intend to mislead by calling it "Professional KitchenAid" but actually the model being offered is the Artisan, from looking at the pics. The Professional series mixers have metal gears, includes metal attachments (beaters etc.) and a more powerful motor.

  • To everyone who bought one of these, I hope you used Paypal. The wholesale price for these from the Australian distributor is around the $530 mark. They never discount these machines. I would be very suprised if they are Australian stock or if they even exist.

    • +1

Has anyone zoomed out the location map on the deal page…interesting!

      • Looks like its like that when its an online only deal, but when it has a location it is right, like the whisky rocks. Wouldnt worry about that of all things lol I do hope this deal is real though and not going to rip anyone off

        • Off the coast of Nigeria seemed to me an odd place

        • +3

Perhaps Nigerian pirates captured a KitchenAid shipment, would explain the cheap price.

        • @nomad, I think you'll find that the placement of the marker on the map is effective 0 degrees (N/S), and 0 degrees (E/W) - basically under under greenwich (the east/west divide) and on the equator (the north/south divide). I'm pretty sure the placement on the map doesn't indicate the deal is dodgey. Having said that, it does seem too good to be true, and well, I think we all the know the phrase… If it seems too good to be true.. it probably is… Of course, that didn't stop my buying one. I figure I can always dispute the transation if worst comes to worst.

    • +4

If it is true that the price is around $530 mark from Aussie distributor, they deserve to be bypassed.
I really hope that more and more company do parallel import and bypassed greedy local distributor.

I understand all company exist to make money, but with hard work and innovation and be reasonable. Selling at that price on wholesale level is the same as robbery, while you can get the same product in USA, on the shop at around US$300 mark.

    • My reading of PayPal buyer protection is that you are only protected (for a refund) if you purchased from eBay.

      Is this other peoples understanding?

  • I ordered one but I got a feeling this deal wont turns out to be good. At least for many of us, as reading the How to redeem section it indicated: EXTREMELY limited stock! To my understanding it the quantity numbers are very limited, now with 3184 clicks and counting, even say only 20% of us bought them. That is about 600 machines. Now, I doubt even in Christmas time they don't sell that much machine in the periods of December. Therefore, I will warn everyone to be careful with this deal. Now I have bought it, the the waiting game began…………..

  • It's now showing "Available" instead of how many left. Good luck to all.

  • Where is good in Australia to buy these?

    • kitchenwarehouse direct, have an online store, free shipping for items over $100 recently they had a facebook promotion where customers voted for their favourite colours, the top 3 colours were red, black and purple, 20 of each machine went up for sale for $599. Thought that was a great deal.
This one is even better, assuming it is legitimate. Had an interesting experience with COSTDEALS offering Thermomix for $999, of course had to buy one at that price, they are usually $1939. The deal didnt come off, however, despite being told by costdeal in Sydney it was legitimate. Did get a full refund from them, via Paypal plus a $10 store credit. Not sure what will happen with the Kitchenaid deal, will have to wait and see.

  • +2

If this deal goes south, this might be the person to send nastygrams to :)

  • +2

Has anyone read this section about them
    http://www.sosharp.com.au/index.php/our-people

I think it is a huge con and we are all going to get burnt and the email address we gave them will be spammed to death…

They could not get this much stock and if so I am sure it is colour Purple or green that you will hate the site of each day..!!!

In a another forum a Guy called the USA office of Kitchen Maid and said that the Australian Model only goes out to the Australian and New Zealand distributor… Not sold in that version for anyone else…

    So Now Worry People..!!!!

    • Not true. As far as I know, Sosharp/panda2u doesn't says that this is australian model, only says that voltage is 220v/240v.

Australian model with Australian plug might only be available to AUS and NZ distributor, but 220-240v is available from pretty much anywhere (although their current price seems higher than this deal), even from USA.
      Example http://www.220-electronics.com/Kitchenaid_Mixer_220_volts/Ki…

As long as the voltage is supported, we don't need the one with AUS plug. Universal plug converter is cheap.

  • They are probably selling these at a loss to promote their site. It appears to be working.

  • Not convinced. Kitchenaid have no reason to lower their price this much. Sounds like one of those Catch Of The Day style scams where they have 2 in stock but in this case they take your money…their plans seemed to have worked. generated a nice amount of traffic to their site.

  • I purchased but I am skeptical. The whole website seems unprofessional. Things like emailing them the color and address isn't how proper companies do things, sketchy quantities, the wrong model on the title (its an artisan not a professional), personal email address for paypal etc.

I reckon there is a 50% chance that the voltage on this isn't 220v. The company probably doesn't know better.

When you factor in the cost of shipping (probably about $20) its almost cheaper than buying from the US.

  • FYI this was posted on facebook by a company rep:

"… the power plug is Australian so will not require a transformer and comes with a 3 month manufacturers warranty :) Thanks very much for your query and have a safe and enjoyable weekend!"

3 months?? this cannot be Australian stock which if probably a good thing as it gives some credibility to the price. The odd think is that the manufacturer would either give international warranty or no warranty if grey import. In such cases the importer is responsible to provide warranty… time will tell.

    • There is a comment above

"Spoke to sosharp. Warranty is 1 yr, is local warranty."

      This company seems clueless.

    • 3 month warranty, hahaha.

      By law, they have to make this statement on their warranty card;

"Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure."

I would expect a Kitchenaid mixer to last 20, maybe 30 years. If it breaks in 3 years… :D

  • Ok. i bought one last night, but am having my doubts about this.

I am thinking the catch is the colours are limited, so you get the less popular ones.

    OR

Since the stock is very limited, even if you buy the VOUCHER through sosharp, there is no gaurantee you will get a MIXER.. like a lucky dip i guess\

This is what the deal says : Subject to availability – EXTREMELY limited stock

  • so i have to purchase then redeem voucher i don't get it shipped directly? is that correct?

    • Yes.

Click 'More Info' in OP's link for instruction.

  • still no return emails, different story's on warranty ect i got a bad feeeeeling about this

  • can you post link please… i too have a bad feeling about this??

  • oh well.. seems like we will have to speak to our credit card company. has ANYONE had a reply email from panda2u?

  • +1

    from their website FAQ:

So, The business I have my voucher with is no longer operating - what do I do?

Relax. If the business cannot provide you with the goods or services promised, contact us and we will refund you.

So, I have changed my mind about a purchase, can I get a refund?

Yes. We will refund your unused voucher at the end of the expiry date, set out in the particulars.
    1. Refunds and problems
      15.1. SoSharp agrees to refund your vouchers in the event that you have;
      changed your mind or are unable to use the SoSharp voucher;
      the SoSharp voucher has been damaged, lost or stolen;
      duplicated purchase requests, for example by clicking the "buy now" button multiple times;
pressed "back" to try to cancel an order; or
pressed "refresh" when payment is being processed.
Let the voucher expire before booking and receiving the purchased service
15.2. SoSharp will refund the purchase price or exchange the SoSharp voucher where we have made a mistake; for example, the SoSharp voucher we issued is for goods or services of an entirely different nature to those advertised (e.g. cooking lessons instead of a spa treatment voucher you in fact purchased).

  • we have a month until the voucher expires. So if no news from the seller in the next week, we can contact sosharp for a refund. or directly through the CC company

345? Whats wrong with a bowl, a wooden spoon and some elbow grease?

  • +1

For those who have asked about SoSharp. I have used them before. Had one problem with the use-by date on a voucher. Email from Customer Support was not acceptable ("…so that's what it's gonna be!"). I posted on their Facebook site and the CEO/owner phoned within 30 minutes. Asked me to forward the email and apologised for any problems. I have bought this voucher and sent through the email (the email address on the voucher is missing a space after the word "email" so it is just info@). I am confident of receiving either the mixer of a full refund (some voucher sites only refund credits unless you are insistent). Have asked for black but the deal is so good I don't really care what colour.

    • -3

hmmm seems suss that you would join ozbargain today and only make one comment - defending this company??

      • +5

Oh dear….now I'm sorry I even tried to pass on some objective info. My facebook confrontation with SoSharp can be found on the site (with a supporting comment from one of my friends!). You need to have a little more faith in the general positiveness of people.
Besides, explaining a problem I had with them probably isn't the best way to "defend" them.
You are right …. I've never been on this site before. I found it while looking for reviews on the mixer. Google the mixer and this site comes up on the first page.
I won't be on this site again!

  • +1

I bought one . But here's my thought. I notice that the email address to send the voucher is an Australian one.

anyone can have an Aus email address. so they could sell 200 vouchers. get $69,000 and a few more email addresses. then in one month when someone discovers there is no more stock start a very slow refund process.

just a thought on how it could work

  • +3

I emailed peter mcinnes since they are kitchenaid distrubitors:

    Hi,

i was wondering since you are the official stockist for kitchenaid if you could verify if this seller is geniune or not: http://www.sosharp.com.au/index.php/professional-kitchenaid-…

The email of the seller is [email protected]

Many people have purchased online and are worried this may be a scam.

    Many thanks

    • Can you let us know if you get a reply from the rep, thanks

If all goes pear shaped Panda 2 U are in SA so i will hunt them down…

  • +1
    1. Do Paypal do refunds on VOUCHERS? because that is what the transaction will be for.
    2. Will SoSharp only be liable to let you redeem that voucher on another product/deal on their site if this falls through or happens to be out of stock?
    3. If it fails will SoSharp redirect everyone to take up their issues with the 3rd Party company Panda???

One of the BIGGEST concerns here is the introduction of a 3rd Party for processing your purchase, but by EMAIL. - who does that?

You want to buy an item, so you go to this group deal kind of website press BUY IT NOW but in return your buying a VOUCHER well its a CODE really and then you have to email your details and the CODE to a 3rd Party Company for processing…………

Does anyone know if they mention on the website deal page for the mixer that your purchasing a VOUCHER or CODE and you will need to redeem that code in order to get the item and do they mention who the 3rd Party Company is?????

They could have at least setup a 3rd Party WEBSITE so that you can enter the VOUCHER there to redeem it making it all a little more traceable, and legit!

  • They are replying on facebook, saying that the warranty is overseas warranty for 1 year. To me it sounds like this product will be similar if not the same as the ones you buy on 220-electronics.com which are going for $459.

They also said that we will get an email back but due to the volume of people buying and emailing they ask that we be patient.

"Hi Myrecipe, thanks for the query. Yes customers will receive a confirmation email from our client, all we ask is that due to an overwhelming response that people are patient. The manufacturers warranty is actually 12 months and is not for local warranty. I I can assure you this is not a raffle whereby 1 ticket and 1 prize is drawn and a winner announced, but is great to here all the excitement! Please refer to our company refund promise for some peace of mind and hope you have a great weekend. PS - I am attempting one of your delicious recipes this afternoon!"

I hope we get an email soon, maybe that will offer some reassurance.

  • I need a blender..

  • +1

i feel this is the same sort of process that "appliance surplus" tried previously, they imported the kitchenaid from 220 electronics and changed the plug on the mixer from euro to australian.

since the warranty is not local, they must be grey imports.

    • I would put money on this explanation. It is easy to back door the AD and import a container of appliances from Europe, then cut the plugs off and put Australian ones on. Offer your own 12 month warranty and hey presto.

  • +4

You guys will probably get a rebadge of this. http://www.oo.com.au/prod/HMSY2936SMB/1b.jpg

    • +1

      then that would be fraud.
By the looks of the photos the oo one has the power and speed settings on the back, the KitchenAid has the speed settings on the side. They couldn't just rebadge it, they'd have to redesign it as well if they wanted to pass it off as the KSM150.

  • just bought.. Thanks OP. :)

  • I bought this but I'm going to request a refund.. Don't' think this will pull through

  • I bought one too. Usually I am careful but this time I decided to be a sheep and follow all the great people who have taken the risk. If we pull it off savings would be worth it otherwise lesson well learnt. However I did go on the abr and found that sosharp is registered company. Fingers crossed everybody. Lets exchange recipes once we get our blenders LOL.

  • Bought one too. Last time I check the website, it was still showing as available and not sold out. They must either have a truck load of this or just issue a refund to those who miss out. The whole ordering process is unprofessional to say the least, but I will still wait and hope it comes through.

  • Bought one, but reserving vote until after i get item

  • Anyone else concerned that deal watch states 7283 have been sold?? Is this accurate info (and if so where do they get these numbers?)?

Panda2u can't possibly have 7000 kitchen aids to clear at this price. And that's not exactly "extremely limited stock" as described, either.

Will be interested (and nervous) to see how this plays out this week.

    • Its been at 7100+ for over 24 hours.
Before that it was at 71,000+ shock

Anyway, it appears to be a made up estimated number (IMO).

Not looking good if that's the case.

      • Thanks Robinsoa. Dealwatch is a separate website so its almost more comforting if the number is entirely made up. I guess I was wondering if somehow they could obtain the number sold from the code of the sosharp page or otherwise.

    • 7283 * $345 = $2,512,635. Quick grab and run profit!

      • A nice retirement! :-)

  • I think what you get will probably be reconditioned machines. It did say that it is US stock, US tends to have a lot of reconditioned stocks.

  • +1

Wow! Just checking back to see how this has panned out and surprised to find that the deal is still available. Very suspicious considering last Fri, they had "18 units available" and it magically became unlimited and still available up till now. Surely they'd have sold thousands by now. I don't think even the local big retailers can cope with this number of orders. But hope it will (magically) work out for those of you who bought!

    • What amazes me most is people are still biting the deals. Maybe $345 is just loose change to them or they are hoping that they are one of the first 18 purchasers. Interesting to see how this "bargain" ends up to be….

  • Anyone got emails YET????

Very close to doing a charge back

    • no reply. I emailed them with setting "request a read receipt for this message" last friday…..and the message has not been read!!!

    • Let us know when you pull the trigger on the charge-back.

I'm getting close to that too - if they can't correspond now, imagine what would happen if your mixer came DOA or broke after a few uses…..

      Totally unprofessional IMO.

    • How is a charge back done?

      • Ring your credit card company and tell them a story. Helps if it is truthful. Tell them you want to dispute a transaction as you paid for something and the vendor wont provide the goods or charged the wrong price etc etc.
In this case, you can say you contacted the merchant and they are not contactable and/or helping you resolve 'the issue' so you have no option but to dispute it.

      • Presume your talking Credit card, then you need to contact your provider and they will start the process with Visa/mastercard.

If no ones heard anything back by tonight, I think i will pull the trigger.

        • I did a little research online which states you can initiate a chargeback if an item never arrives which you ordered.

How long after an initial purchase can you request (and successfully obtain) a chargeback? If I know there's reasonable likelihood paypal or CC company could obtain a chargeback after a good few weeks I'd be willing to give this a shot. Otherwise I will probably likewise pull the trigger tonight.
