Plus 'service fee' which you can't avoid paying?

    • +12

This is the place right? Unmentioned service fee. Has the ACCC not stepped in or have they started putting it in the small print. I know I will boycott it based on this.

Credit cards incur a processing fee of 1% to 1.5%. Debit and EFTPOS card incur a processing fee of 0.3% to 0.5%. External payment Apps incur additional fees.
10% surcharge applies on Sundays, 15% on public holidays, 5% service fee applies Monday to Saturday.

      • Isn't this just Aldi + Dominos fees

      • Where does it mention '5% service fee'?

Ohh, it is in the fine print when you open up the menus.

It's so stupid. Why don't they just increase their actual prices by 5%, since it cannot possibly be avoided. Instead they bring attention to it, and get painted with same brush as dominos and delivery platforms.

        • Well, there would be a tiny benefit to the 5% service fee if it is calculated along with the payment processing fee :)

          [5% svc + 1.5% pay proc] [price inc + 1.5% pay proc]
          Subtotal 100.00 105.00
          Fees 6.50 1.58
          Total 106.50 106.58
          • @Thrift: No, you ALWAYS pay the payment process fee on top of the service fee.

You have to pay the service fee just like you pay for your food. You need to pay 105, and you pay 1.5% of 105 as payment fee

    only with full-priced drink purchased.

What is their full price for tap water?

    Schnitty deal

  • Eagle St Pier in Brisbane CBD still open or RIP?

What's the cheapest drink you can buy to avail the deal? :P

What is Matterhorn or Godfather Schnitties? Worth the extra $10? Can't find them on the menu? https://rockpool-websites.s3.ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com/th…

    leftovers can’t be taken home.

This needs to be in the title.

    • +3

      Its really just $6 discount

I just checked my local store - ACT Woden and a JÄGER (AKA ‘HUNTER’) SCHNITZEL is $26, cheapest schnitzel I can find on the menu.

EDIT: Belconnen store has the same schnitzel for $16. WTF

Godfather: giant schnitzels, ham, cheese, Kielbasa, Napoli sauce, cheese
Matterhorn: schnitzel mountain, cheese spätzle, three layers of Alpen cheese, bacon
Big Boy Oi, Oi, Oi: schnitzel stacked with BBQ wings, bacon, egg

The matterhorn looks like great value for 2 people actually.

Knowing how this schnitty eatery works, they’ll force you to get one meal each.

You cannot even take leftovers away so they rather throw it in the bin than to feed someone again

  • +8

    leftovers can’t be taken home.

Absolute BS in the current year.

  • Can you buy a soft drink?

    • yes, $4 juices too. Although they were not advertised on the menu.

    • They are probably $6 anyway, might as well get something alcoholic.

do not support this restaurant with their extremely questionable business practices

  • Was at the Cinemas last week to see Barbarian, good movie

  • +1

Wow I have never given a negative vote on a deal before, how about that?

But this shitshack deserves all the negatives it can get.

  • +1

Full price not shown in title. Probably should say from XYZ price

  • The weird thing about this place is that I went to Highpoint tonight and didn't need to buy any drink with the Schnitzel, so the deal wasn't bad after all!

  • Pretty sure Bavarian is the new red rooster. Don’t know how they’re still operating with no business.

  • +2

Portion sizes were smaller, had to buy 2 last time. Full priced were bigger

    • +1

Thats exactly what you would expect from the dodgy restaurant that is The Bavarian and their parent company Pacific Concepts.

All of their restaurants also have fake 5 star reviews to counter their poor reviews.

      • +1

Yep, Pacific Concepts aka Pac Con aka a Pack of Con artists

  • +2

    Lol

No takeaway and leftovers can’t be taken home.

  • +1

Interesting that they don't have prices on the drinks menu on their website :| So you only find out when you are there.
