Found this deal on Lenovo's website, top spec AMD advantage Legion 7 model with a Ryzen 6900HX and Radeon RX 6850M XT which is meant to compete with the RTX 3080/3080ti for a much better price.

Cashrewards is offering 16% uncapped cashback at Lenovo on 14/11 only, bring the price from $3459 to $2906.

Come with a 230W AC Adaptor so probably worth $50 more to get the 300W to keep this machine juiced up. I was able to chat with customer support and get a quote for $3400 including the 300w adaptor which would bring the price down to $2856. Not sure if cashrewards will work on a quote order so if someone could confirm that for me I'd really appreciate it.

Whilst I have ordered a 230W charger for my Legion 5 pro, I did notice that it spiked at 238W whilst playing Fortnite.
So I would definitely recommend 300W for those who will be pushing the machine.

  • Hopefully there's a better upfront discount on this during a Black Friday/Cyber Monday deal.

Cashrewards although good, is 3+ months approval and is always a bit of a gamble.

This deal is $100 less than in EDU store. Also, you can get Premium care for 3 years at the price of 2 years, and battery replacement on site. All together and 300W adaptor comes to $3,731. I'm not sure if I should wait or pull the trigger 🤔

    • +3

I was able to get it with the 300w adaptor for $3,400 by speaking with customer service via live chat, see if you can get the same deal.

  • Sweet deal.

RTX 3080 version with Ryzen 5900HX though for $3,469.00

That's Gen 6, not Gen 7 like the op's deal

  • With the cashback this is seriously tempting.
I kind of wanted the Intel version but the price just doesn't make sense?

AMD is 32gb ram, Intel 16gb
AMD is 1tb SSD, Intel 500gb

Best I can tell the 6850 outperforms the 3070ti which is similar price, and upgrade to Intel i9 / 3080ti is eye watering price jump.

    What am I missing?

I was thinking the same thing, the Intel/nVidia spec was about $1800 more expensive! I ended up getting this model this afternoon and got my cashback tracked which is good.

  • Awesome work! Think I'll do the same, have asked for a quote for 300w power supply+ 2tb SSD upgrade

    • +1

I emailed cashrewards and apparently cashback won't be accepted on quoted orders unfortunately:( I ended up also getting the 300w AC adaptor which totalled $3,509 - 16% cashback brings it to $2948.

Thanks, good to know, I'll skip the quote and order as is then, ripper deal after the 16%.

That extra $1800 goes a long way to just replacing entire thing in 2 years time for a 5080ti box haha

        • Exactly man, that's why I never usually get the most expensive top model when it comes to tech because you pay a lot more just to upgrade in a few years.

The same laptop was $3249 last month https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/729026. Damn I missed that deal

is that "ShopBack Australia" 's cashback reliable?
I see that has a "Up to" 12.75% cashback on this offer
"up to" is a interesting word, and I never used this before so idk

    • 15% at cashrewards today

Reckon there will be a better deal on this one for Cyber Monday?

    • +2

Not sure but maybe. I ended up buying this from this deal and can highly recommend it. Plays games great and actually stays really cool on the palmrest and WASD keys when playing.

    • Cyber appears to be the same as the Black Friday deal.
