This is absolutely not safe. Personally, I would not recommend this at all. I'm surprised it's still on the market.

    • I've used a similar one for the last few years, you've got to have a suitable door frame for it to be stable, mine doesn't work well on 3/4 of the doors in my house.

I definitely wouldn't take the risk of doing any of those weird jerky crossfit style reps on it though…

      • Had one for a few years(different cheapo brand). Mine came with some J brackets(dunno if the bogan one does). Bolted those on top of a door frame, did 3 chinups and the brackets bent like a wet carrot. Got friend to make some steel J brackets. Been good ever since.

Definitely wouldn't use one without brackets like headless_splat_back_tile_floor below… :)

They're called kipping pullups. Terrible form.

P.s. don't youtube kipping pullup fails unless you want to laugh your a$$ off…

You got a door? YOU GOT A GYM!

  • I got the meteor brand one on amazon for something like $25 when it went on sale last time - it actually braces and locks up against walls. I use it specifically between brick walls for extra grip and strength in hold - and even THEN I still feel unsure how well it’s going to hold my 100kg frame lmao

It's fine if you dont swing on it!
One day I too energeticly did a pull up on this and landed on my back on a tile floor, very very lucky i didn't break something, but I was sore for a month.
I knew to keep the weight directly underneath, but in the spir of the moment I forgot and suffered - just dont get it, youve been warned because you too will forget

What is the change that you break the door frame?

  • I advised my friend that these items are unwise and he would break his door frame. He poo pooed me… oops.

  • Did anyone else get one with just bars and no screws? Anyways, that's what I got but Kogan customer support was good and gave me $5 credit for it.
