This post contains affiliate links. OzBargain might earn commissions when you click through and make purchases. Please see this page for more information.

When logged into my account and looking at the 128GB Meta Quest 2 product page, I found this easy to miss one line promo which said $10 credit on $29 spend. With a link to open the T&C's. I can't post a link to the T&C's it opens to a blank page when opening in a new tab and only seems to be visible for logged in users.

T&C's below, but it is targeted (mods how to make deal show as targeted?) reads to me like you have to firstly NOT be a current Prime subscriber, then "invited" through email or other official method such as the App or website banner while logged in etc.

After clicking through the link sign up to 1 month of Prime and get the $10 credit in 24 hours. Then use code 10PRIME at checkout to apply the credit to $29+ spend. So no need to make a second purchase to claim the $10 credit, it is effectively "$10 off $29 spend" 24 hours after signing up.

And as usual the credit only applies to items sold by Amazon AU.

Since I think this is targeting existing past subscribers, you could then think of it as Prime paying for itself + $3 discount for $29 spend.

Promotion terms

The entry period for the promotion will run from 9:00 AM (AEDT) on 14 November 2022 until 5:00 PM (AEDT) on 31 December 2022.

This is a limited time and targeted offer. Only customers who have either been invited from Amazon or who have clicked through on site marketing whilst signed into their Amazon customer account are eligible to receive $10 off their next purchase of $29 or more on eligible items ("offer") after they sign up to Prime. For the purpose of these terms and conditions "eligible items" refers to products sold by Amazon AU (look for "ships from and sold by Amazon AU" on the product detail page) on amazon.com.au. Products sold by third-party sellers or other Amazon entities such as through Amazon Global Store (e.g. sold by Amazon US) will not qualify for this offer, even if "fulfilled by Amazon " or "Prime Eligible." Products sold on Amazon.com will not qualify for this offer. This offer does not apply to digital content including subscriptions (e.g. Prime) or Amazon Gift Cards. Shipping charges and taxes may apply to the full value of discounted and free promotional items. To be eligible for the promotion, you must sign-up to Prime within the promotion entry period. The $10 credit will be available 24 hours after Prime sign up. Customers must add at least $29 of eligible items to their cart and enter the promo code '10PRIME' at checkout for the discount to be applied. The promotional credit will expire on 23:59 PM (AEDT) on 31 January 2023. If you do not add any eligible items to your cart, the offer will not apply. If any of the products or content related to this offer are returned, your refund will equal the amount you paid for the product or content, subject to applicable refund policies. The maximum benefit you may receive from this offer is $10. This offer discount will be allocated proportionally among all eligible promotional items in your order. This offer limited to one per customer and account. The offer is not transferable and may not be resold. This offer cannot be used on pre-existing orders or orders placed with 1-click. If you violate any terms and conditions of the offer, the offer will be invalid, and the discount will not apply. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or code for new customers or Amazon devices. The offer is subject to availability and Amazon reserves the right to cancel, amend or withdraw the offer at any time at its discretion. Amazon.com.au’s Conditions of Use and Sale apply.

Yeah, I'm not seeing anything like that. Lucky me gets 15% off S&S nappies.

    • +1

Honestly might be worth one more look.

I tried to find it again just to confirm I got the code right, and I missed it twice since on the PC website it's just a single line of text (use Ctrl+F) and on the App it's a greyed out box with "Special offers for this item" under "Add an Accessory" which you have to expand to see the promo text.

      • So it’s for non prime members?

        • Yeah I think so. I am not currently subscribed and it shows for me, but no guarantee I am targeted yet because I don't see any official link to the promo.
I will probably find out on the 14th.
Sorry I made so many edits to the post in the last few minutes. Hopefully you can read it again and understand it better.

          • @harshbdmmaster718: I would add that to title too as

            [Non-Prime members]

            • +1

@Pricebeat: Thank you. Edit: I misread your comment, I thought you were a mod and were fixing the title for me lol I added it now.

Yeah the way I see it, it's targeting existing past subscribers. Because if you have never signed up you can't be logged in to see the promo banner or if they don't have your email they won't be able to email you the promo link.

      • Nah, I'm a member so probably get nothing. They don't need to entice me to spend money. Spend so much money on Amazon without trying really.

Honestly I'm a little surprised there are many people out there who aren't Amazon Prime members still.

Thanks for the detailed post and reply to my non serious comment. I'll have to upvote your post. : )

        • Pretty sure this is for existing past subscribers who are unsubscribed.

Won't work for Free Trial sign ups I think because you need to already be logged in and see the promo banner or it needs an invite which is most likely emailed to you.

Either way yes if you are currently on Prime Annual subscription, or your monthly Prime does not end before the 14th you are probably out of luck in terms of getting targeted.

  • Also guys if you see the invite in your email.
The T&C's recommend you to already be signed in to your Amazon AU account BEFORE clicking the link in the email.

Also guys make sure you are only signing up to 1 month of Prime. Accidentally signing up to a year for $59 would kill the deal lol.

wonder if this will stack with the $7 off using pick up point

  • In addition to getting the offer, it looks like I am eligible for another free trial of Prime. Bonus!

    • Yeah what you will want to consider though is if you will actually use your Prime for more than just one order. I guess if the $10 off credit stacks then it makes the decision easier. I can see the $10 offer currently, but not quite sure if that means I am targeted.

I have started a couple of my free trials that way (single account as well), one time I just activated it to get Free international delivery and didn't use it for the rest of the month. But yeah free is free I guess.

  • Does it work to buy Amazon gc

    • +1

From the T&C's in the post.

"This offer does not apply to digital content including subscriptions (e.g. Prime) or Amazon Gift Cards."

  • Did you login to your account on the website or the app OP?

NoT tAkInG cArE oF cUrReNt CuStOmErS !!!

  • +1

I’m eligible for another free trial plus this offer :)

  • Could you post a screenshot of the text? So it's not even advertised on a separate page, only shown as a couple of sentences?

    • Ok in a bizarre turn of events.

I just went out of my way to screenshot it for you. And it is gone. From both PC website and App where I saw it.

These are the exact steps that I took when I first saw it. Opened App, on home page there was a direct listing for the 256GB Meta Quest 2. Not "pick up where you left off" or anything else, it was an ad for that Meta Quest 2 specifically showing the $700 price. I tapped on that, then clicked on the 128GB option to check the price and found the promo when scrolling down.

Last night I was also able to return to the Quest 2 page logged in on both PC website and App and find it again at least 4 times. Now it's gone from both. Is Amazon messing around? Or possibly an accidental leak? Not sure.

  • wow just out from trial lets see on 14th if santa is real

9am. anyone tried getting this yet? I don't see any banners on my accounts or anything

    • +1

      Same. Nothing.

  • +1

Sad 😭. Disappeared for me as well!

    • +2

      Did this work for anyone?

      • I am also wondering. It should be live from 9AM today.

  • Can anyone here please confirm or deny whether they can see this promo?

Did they decide to stop it because it was leaked beforehand?

  • +2

So, it seems to be working for me, at least.

I haven't seen the banner again but I wanted to buy something from Amazon and I was eligible a free trial for Prime so I signed up. On the item page I thought I saw a small box saying I was eligible for $10 if I entered '10PRIME'.

When I added the code at checkout it reduced the cost by $10.

    • +1

I can see it too and I'm not currently signed up to prime. You can test by selecting an item shipped and sold by Amazon and it should tell you in a box near the description

      • "You can test by selecting an item shipped and sold by Amazon"

Yup correct it only shows on sold by Amazon AU items.

    • Great. One weird thing I remember though, is I typed out the start date as 15th November in the title before clicking post. I double checked it and the T&C's I copied showed 14th November, so I corrected it in the title.

It could be that one place on Amazon showed 15th November and the T&C's showed the wrong date of 14th November.
I guess it was a typo.

  • +1

    The banner’s back!

  • +4

Looks like deal is on. You just have to be targeted and follow the terms.

Keep in mind the deal runs until the end of December, so if you think you won't maximize your use of your month of Prime then you can delay your sign up process and still claim the $10 credit as long as you do it before the 31st of December.

  • Somehow I got the trial again (usually it says I’ve redeem it already or something) and 10PRIME also works. Black friday shopping got sorted I guess

    • +1

"Somehow I got the trial again"

Nah it's quite common to get offered multiple free trials, I think it depends on how often you pay to subscribe or how much you spend on items total. I have gone through about 4 over the years on my single account. Can't say I used them wisely though.

It's not "1 Free Trial offer per year" either. Because last time I got offered one, I checked my last Prime subscription and purchase and it was only 6 weeks ago.

      • Right, didn’t know about it as whenever I attempt to snag a free trial it never worked lol. It worked this time so all good :-)

        • +1

Yeah might have something to do with your Amazon service experience as well.

I think the time before my last free trial offer, I activated the previous free trial and ordered something from Amazon US to get free delivery. The item never arrived and was lost by international post service. I was told by CS to wait an extra 2 or 3 weeks after delivery due date but it still never arrived, tracking was not updating at all.
I contacted CS and told them how upset I was with the experience. Maybe they marked my Amazon experience as "bad" and so that qualified me for another free trial in X months.

          • @harshbdmmaster718: And how do you know you are eligible for another trial? Receive email or checking the prime section every now and then?

            • @CyberMurning: From my memory there was no email.

You just login to your account (in my case desktop website), and on the Prime page instead of "Pay for prime $6.99" it says the same thing as your first free trial, just a banner saying "Start your free trial" or something similar.

I occasionally download the App to track slow deliveries (Amazon US/UK etc), but after the item is received I always sign out and delete the App afterwards. So I can't really say I use the App enough to notice the Free trial offer.

              • @harshbdmmaster718: I see yeah same actually i after my frist trial i paid for a year then stop, got second trial basically by luck as i went to that page and see start your trial. Hmm wonder why they dont send emails. Multi billion company cant make auto email works?

                • @CyberMurning: "Hmm wonder why they dont send emails. Multi billion company cant make auto email works?"

Not sure but I suspect they are meant to be like hidden offers. Also I think there is a timer on the Free trial offers after the first one. e.g. once they offer it lasts for 4 or 6 weeks and if you don't log in for 2 months or something it will disappear before you notice so you might never know it was offered to you.

This would explain why my ones have been so inconsistent with the timing. I think the first extra one I noticed was over 8 months after the sign up free trial. But the next few were much closer together, some were only 4 months apart and some were less than 2 months apart. Anyway I guess I had a habit of logging in without intending to buy anything around that time.

  • I have only 14 days of free trial…so assume i m not targeted here.

    • That's a new one. I have never been offered a 2 weeks trial, only 1 month trials.

  • Wow! Not only the $10 here, it seems I also received a further $10 off for next order. Double tip and a profit of $13.

"Congratulations! Your $10 promo credit is ready to be used once your first Prime eligible order dispatches"
"These terms and conditions apply whereby Prime members who spend $39 or more on one or more Prime eligible items in a single order on Amazon.com.au (“Qualifying Item(s)”) within 30 days of becoming a Prime member, will be eligible to receive a promotional credit of $10 for use towards a future Eligible Order (“Offer”)"

    • "Congratulations! Your $10 promo credit is ready to be used once your first Prime eligible order dispatches"

Yeah I got that offer to once. On a different promo though. The message came via a email right?

Seems to be a hit or miss thing. Sometimes it just so happens you were eligible for $10 credit on $39 spend if I remember correctly.

      • I saw that on my prime page. Anyway makes the deal sweeter! Thanks OP

        • Thank Amazon lol.

        • I decided to pay for 1 month of Prime sooner than later. Thought I might have a chance at the extra $10.
No luck on the extra $10 unfortunately. Oh well can't complain 10PRIME worked so that's good enough.

  • So does anyone know if this can be stacked with the 3 Months Free Amazon Prime Membership offer (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/730575)?

It appears I am eligible for both (i.e. I've received emails for both this offer and that offer).

    • Edit: Oh I see that's some kind of Mastercard promo. Not sure if it's the same deal as an extra 1 month Free Trial offer.

I guess you can only find out if you try.
