How's that multimeter they had a few weeks past?
we only use fluke test gear. I would never trust my life to cheap shit.
Wait, so what "awesome stuff at good prices" from Aldi do you actually recommend?
@wisdomtooth: the produce and meatstuffs…
@wisdomtooth: Their hash browns, brioche buns/rolls
Their Choceur chocolates are quite popular too.
@wisdomtooth: Stuff that won't literally kill you if it fails.
I've got two secateurs from there that have done me well for 2-3 years. Not bad for $10 for both.
Pressure washer does okay for washing the car and concrete paths. First one was dead on arrival, but second one has held up for 2+ years. Worth the $50.
500+ Screw assortments for $10 each, in cases with removable bins. The stainless screws are a bit chinesium-y, but the electroplated ones do alright.
Drill was worthless junk, I could apply more torque with a screwdriver. They might have improved the model since.
They are great, your 17 piece set turns in to a 34 piece set the first time you use them. Bargain!
Was that the Titanium 17 piece set, or the 23 piece set?
I think, when the staff Aldi buyers meet the Chinese manufacturers, they are presented with a high quality product. Then, when the time comes to make the product, the manufacturer churns out and sends a lower quality product as seen in these items.
You get what you pay for.
It’s like buying tools from the $2 shop.
Agree with above, got some previously and break easy.
aldis keep repackaging this shit with different cases but its the same chinesium
last time it was $6.95 but the cases were blow mould ie. no transparent lid
to me the drivers arent too bad as long as you're not trying to build the space shuttle
the drill bits are the same shite your see at bunnings in the same price class
These are crap and a waste of your time and money. Poor quality.
Buy yourself something better, a drill set can last year's and be fit for purpose.
Aldi's screw sets are the worst quality,I was forced to buy a good drill bit to bore them out as the heads of the screws simply disintegrated
Caveat Emptor.
Cheap drill bits = frustration and purchase of more drill bits.
Most of the Aldi stuff of this type is absolute rubbish and rarely fit for even one time use.
The only things I have found to be good value are the small corner/angle/joiner brackets which are just as good as your basic Bunnings and a fraction of the price.
Serious question : I bought a 51 piece Aldi Ferrex "premium" drill bits, bought it purely thinking "premium' should be at least reasonable quality, haven't use it yet, any feedback from real owners if I was deceived ??? 😓
< industrial sparky, i get these so my apprentices can have a crack… and i tell ya… they are terrible! Dont get me wrong Aldi does some awesome stuff at good prices… however these are rotten.
