$39.86 for me
That is Amazon for you!
Clickbait or not you wanna check your local hardware store for options.
Drilling 1" directly into concrete requires a strong machine, strong arms and perhaps ear and eye protection.
Bunnings are dumping a load of core drills, they probably start at 30mm, require low rpm and cooling.Eye protection is almost always a must when doing any kind of work. You also need to have a suitable mask or respirator when cutting or drilling concrete. Silicosis is no joke. Yet, almost every DIYer and tradie I’ve seen doesn’t take it seriously.
If you're likely to strike steel reo in the concrete your drilling the 4 cutter heads are much better suited. As mentioned Bunnings seem to have masonry bits on permanent clearance although usually not the size you need;(.
The beauty of SDS is you don't need to push that hard even for 25mm provided you have the right machine and bit.
At 30mm+ you're in SDS Max territory anyway.Bosch invented the SDS system because their chucks were the ones that always slipped. Great system but as it has a few versions that is way too much for lazy Americans. I have asked Project Farm to review SDS but is is just not as popular as in Europe.
As for hitting reo: A good metal detector may even save you from hitting power, gas or water. Amazon is not going to compensate you if the rtfm was missing.
Meh.
Kango SDS K4's… or go home.
Yeah they aren't cheap, but you'll get through old dry hard as F reo concrete like nothing else. I don't stuff around anymore. The 4 cut heads are nothing like you've ever used.
