Credit card price protection?
Is there any credit cards still offering PP or just those on old deals?
There maybe some CC with 90 days protection but nothing as good old 1yr 28Degress or 2yr Coles Mastercard.
Buy another and returne with old receipt :)
Colour laser printer - this thing could literally make you money
Have spent years waiting for a decently priced A3 laser printer….they can do A4 by the score so why?????????????????
If you want an A3 laser, then an ex-lease office machine (the big freestanding ones) will likely be your only reasonable option.
You might be able to pick one up for under a grand depending on its' age. Toner will be expensive be it'll last for 10,000 pages
Thanks for the idea but I would prefer the "reasonable option" to be new and freely available. IMO it's possible (like this A4) but manufacturers are putting in artificial blocks.
toner cost is one, but have you looked up the cost of an A3 replacement drum?
It's probably artificially inflated too…..build a market and they will come (down)
I have this printer, works well. Two tips, Aussie toner from eBay for generic replacements has worked well and google how to reset the toner count, the included toners last for heaps longer, just need to reset the count.
I hear Aussie toners being recommended often, but the one time I tried them I found the colour to be quite different to the OEM toner, and it soon started doing uneven prints and also leaving streaks on the printouts.
Got Officeworks to do Pricebeat and also paid via Coles Master Card from recent promo. Eventually paid around $219.
Want an A3 colour laser for <$300
Unlikely, but I wish you luck.
The primary market for A3 printers is business, and they tend to want zero downtime so they lease their printers, usually with servicing and regular toner refills built into the leasing cost.
This means few A3 printers are sold, meaning little pressure for sellers to stock A3 printers or compete on price.
unless there is need for color printing, otherwise stick with black and white. this print does not print if any of the four toners runs out. also, this is not multifunctional.
I have this printer in my business for the last 3 years.
Pros:
- print quality is great
- comes with enough toner to last you a long time if you don't print every day.
- you can reset all toner cartridges on the printer to be full again even if they arent. Means you can keep printing black and white.
- you can refill the toner your self for about $20(per cartrages) in to the existing cartrages.Cons:
- not multifunction so we miss a scanner sometimes but just use our phone. Thanks for feedback.
Where do you get your toner from if not refilling? or does refilling works long time? Can you please advise where we can get the refills? And is it easy to refill the toner ourselves? Thanks!!
Brother printer is a magic. I am still using my HL1110, might be $36 from OW. Replaced over 10 tones from Ebay, around $60 for 4. Now the drum has some fault spots, but it has printed over 10K pcs, it's time to replace the drum.
I was debating whether or not to upgrade from my HL1110 - I think I'll just run it into the ground first, so maybe another 10 years or so…
my brother printer is older than my kids ages combined. lol
The ink for this looks pretty expensive
You can buy generics on eBay. All four cartridges for about $50
Thanks for the share. OOS now, damn it!
Anyone know of an alternative supplier for this price?
I think amazon is price matching mwave:
https://www.mwave.com.au/product/brother-hll3230cdw-a4-wirel…Thanks for the link!
thanks for the link - I managed to get it price matched at Officeworks :)
Brought the price down to $236.55Yeah same, but they added on $10 for freight as I'm not in Sydney. Worked out to about $246 for me. Still cheaper than the $45 M-wave were trying to charge for freight!
Hi mine got delivered this week and it was DOA. Of course Amazon is organising a replacement but it’s PITA to have to lug this brick to the post office so it can be returned. I’m wondering if anyone else has had any issues with this model?
I got it but haven't had the chance to set it up yet, will update here when I do.
