    Great quality charger and price.

Note: the AC cable is hardwired and not the standard figure 8 plug/socket. This seems to be the norm for Baseus GaN chargers, but not other brands.

    • +2

And being 1.5 m it takes more space than the charger itself. Facepalm all the way.

      • +1

This is a real deal breaker and I'll never purchase one of their chargers because of this. Is there a good alternative?

    • +9

      Two other issues:

      • The power plug is Chinese, which works with Australian power sockets, but it's upside down. This can cause issues depending on the location of your socket.
      • The power plug pins don't have the partial insulation, posing a higher electrocution risk.

Other than those issues, I find this to be great when paired with a travel adapter. You get lots of USB power, and two Australian-compatible AC sockets (e.g. for laptop charger, shaver) when overseas. Very useful.

If you don't need the AC + USB in a single package, though, you can get better separate products.

      • +4

If only this had a detachable power cord, it would make more sense to get it for travels…

      • wait, are you sure its 2 A/C sockets? are they on each side? only see one thats why i think just one

      • +2

If it doesn't have insulation on the pins, it doesn't meet Australian standards.

    • +1

I’ve seen on a comment somewhere ?maybe it was Banggood) that the unit without anything plugged in still draws an unusually high amount of power… any way you could check this?

That & the Chinese plug make me hesitant to buy this.

  • Can anyone suggest a 60W+ USB-C wall charger that includes a travel adapter set? I had a 65W Mopoint charger that was stolen, but after reading reviews this time around that might have been a good thing as they're building a reputation for setting houses on fire.

    • The heymix on amazon has been solid for me over last 2 years

      • I think the charger mentioned is rebranded by Heymix.

It's great that you've got two years out of the product but Heymix's quality probably isn't where it needs to be based on the requirements. Here's some feedback from Ozbargain users: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/12674711/redir

    • Almost anything from a reputable brand: eg Anker, Apple, Samsung, Satechi, Belkin etc.

  • +2

I have the 65W of this charger and also several others like it but I prefer Anker USB C Charger, 543 Charger (65W II), PIQ 3.0 & GaN 4-Port Slim Fast Wall - significantly smaller form factor and uses removable, standard figure 8 cable. e.g. https://www.amazon.com.au/Anker-Charger-4-Port-MacBook-Lapto… It's obviously 65W and not 100W though

    • +3

Currently available via eBay Plus for $69.39 including postage, from Anker's official eBay store using coupon PLOCT17: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/403863577061

      • +4

try making an offer + use the code. i got it for about $58 shipped after code.

    • I prefer Anker USB C Charger, 543 Charger

I’ll be all over one of these when a deal pops up, really like Anker and this form factor’s great

Currently available via eBay Plus for $69.39 including postage

Code is plus members only (PLOCT15 for 15% non-member’s discount). Little bit more than I’m comfortable with but thanks for posting!

    • ah now you creating dilemma .. hmmm
but i feel the AC port will somehow useful when travelling (not so much at home true)

    • Anker USB C, 543 Charger (65W II), PIQ 3.0 & GaN 4-Port

Good review of this unit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vgtqpo_QdPQ

      • -1

Did you watch till the end…? I guess not

        • I did. What’s your point?

You don’t agree it’s a good review? I said the review was good not that it reviewed the unit as a good one (although I don’t see it as damning).

          • @0jay: oh okay i thought you are saying the unit is good, as at the end it says so so
            all good brother, sorry

            • @CyberMurning: Allgood, was just unsure as to what you were getting at.

There are some comments below the video that suggest Anker has gone from premium product to lax quality with a premium price. Response is that he’s dismantled both old and new units and judges quality still to be as good as it was.

    • This looks like it should be a wireless charger too!

  • I have this and highly recommended it.

You will need to buy a new 100w cable as the stock one is crap. Cuts out when charging at 100w on stock cable.

  • Anyone with this able to confirm the power draw of this when nothing is plugged in? I think I saw on BG comments that it draws more than you’d expect.

    • I just tested one of mine and my power meter shows readings between 0w and 0.8w when nothing is plugged in. It fluctuates but never exceeds 1 watt.

      • Nice. I forget exactly what they said it was, but was more like 10watts.

  • I was just looking for something like this for beside the couch to charge Macbook/Switch/Steam Deck etc.

    • That's exactly what i use mine for. I bought a 3m 100w charging cable from cable creation on amazon. You need to buy a new 100w cable as stock one is garbage. Other than the crap cable this charger is brilliant. I ise it charging my legion 5 pro laptop too.

  • There seems to be a lot of confusion, the 100w variant has 2AC ports, one in each side. The 65w variant has 1AC port on the top.

    • this youtube 65 and has 2. maybe you got it other way around ?

The eBay listings for this is chaotically misleading. They're all labelled 100W in the listing's main title, but when you actually look at the pictures, it shows the 65W version. Be extra careful you're actually ordering the one you want.

      • +1

^This. I ordered one from them during a recent eBay sale. Everything indicating it was the 100w. The post-sale correspondence and delivery information saying it was the 100w. There was no 65w in the eBay posting drop-down. 65w arrives. I contacted them and they said it was a posting for the 65w and that's what I got. Offered a 5% payback for the inconvenience. Haven't followed it up because life.

        • Is this the kind of things to report to Fair Trading? Or too small? It's a pretty high profile brand, their official store and plenty of people would look at it.

  • Thanks OP, waiting for a good price for 100w or 65w for a while, and this probably is the lowest price for the 100w one.

  • hmm im plus, use plco17 and get AU $66.25

  • Hoping Amazon matches

    • Amazon doesn't stock these, those are third party listings fullfilled by Amazon. I haven't seen Amazon AU price match items stocked overseas either

  • Crazy price, almost wholesale. wish they could supply us these at a reasonable wholesale rate.

  • The price keeps increasing… it was 66, now 67…

  • +4

Highly recommended but it has a major design flaw. The cable isn't removable. I cut my short and put a female IEC Connector on there so i can use any standard PC power cord.

    • Any tips for doing that? How is the IEC connector attached - with glue? Not that I'd try it myself, but I have a sparky friend who might do it for me. Also do you find a jug plug female connector makes it bulky too (assuming it's protruding and you haven't recessed it in there)

      • How is the IEC connector attached - with glue?

You can cut the cable near the charger end and wire it up to this IEC C14 male socket.

      • Cut the cable about 100mm from the main unit and fitted the head, then sealed with some heat shrink sleeving. $10 in parts and its a brilliant unit. Just a shame Baseus didn't think to do it and probably why it's continually discounted given how bulky/heave it is with the long cable. It's a glorified powerboard.

        • -1

Just a shame Baseus didn't think to do it and probably why it's continually discounted

I'm glad they didn't. Adding in an extra socket and plug adds bulk.

given how bulky/heave it is with the long cable.

IEC C13 power cables are typically 1.8m long which would make your solution even more bulky and heavy.

          It's a glorified powerboard.

That's the main selling point of this - the extra power sockets. If you didn't need them you wouldn't buy this, you'd just buy something like this.

          • @eug: just wondering.. your link says GAN2, this one says GAN3, i saw GAN4.. is that okay to buy GAN2 now is it very old or still okay? i mean 2 generation behind? or i misunderstanding them

            • +1

@CyberMurning: The generations are just unofficial marketing terms so it can be hard to determine what the manufacturer actually means. I think the generally-accepted definition refers to Navitas' power control ICs.

The first generation is discrete GaN which uses discrete GaN components, the second generation is Navitas' GaNFast integrated system, and the third adds GaNSense. I'd say there's a good jump between the first and second and a small jump between second and third. The third generation is IINM about 2% more efficient and adds more monitoring and protection features.

I don't think GaN 4 exists yet; GaN 3 was just released 11 months ago. Could you have mixed up "GaN 4" with e.g. "GaN 4 port charger"?

          • @eug: Wouldn't this 50cm job work?

Being able to detach the cable, and choose the length, gives more storage flexiblity, esp when you are trying to minimise the lengthwise dimensions.

            • @y2k:

              Wouldn't this 50cm job work

Yup, that will address the cable length but not the bulk of the connector. An IEC C13 socket with the strain relief is over half the length of the whole charger body. It's a waste using the latest technology to make a compact charger then adding a socket that adds 50% to the length of the charger.

Being able to detach the cable, and choose the length, gives more storage flexiblity, esp when you are trying to minimise the lengthwise dimensions.

There already are chargers like that, e.g. this and this. If the requirement is to be able to detach the cable, that market is already well-served with existing multi-port chargers.

On the other hand, there aren't many designs with this style. It's smaller than a power board and useful in many situations. It's great that manufacturers are coming up with different designs as everyone has different use cases.

          • @eug: I think he's referring to the bulk of a powerboard, not dissing the fact it has an AC socket. You are right that most powerboards come with a non detachable cable, but that's because they're not designed to be travel solutions. This seems to tout its travel/low bulk properties.

            • @y2k:

I think he's referring to the bulk of a powerboard, not dissing the fact it has an AC socket.

He's saying it's a glorified power board - which it literally is. It's a 2-outlet powerboard with built-in USB charger.

This seems to tout its travel/low bulk properties.

Mmm, you might be surprised at the bulk compared to a modded one where you add an IEC C13/C14 combo into it. If you do the mod it'd be great if you could snap some before/after photos.

        • Can you send a link to the parts please?

        • Do you have a picture of how it turned out?

    • +1

      make youtube video please…….

    • Highly recommended but it has a major design flaw. The cable isn't removable.

I wouldn't call that a major design flaw, it's just how it's designed. Power boards have non-removable cables too, this can be seen as a 2-outlet power board with usb charger built in.

      • +1

It would be a great charger if it wasn't designed as a power board with usb charger built in.

        • -1

Why not just get a charger like this then? This is great for people who would like to plug in an extra device or two occasionally at their desk, sofa, hotel room, bedside, etc.

          • @eug: Umm, simple - No mains power plugs…

            • -1

@SydneySchnorrer: OP said it would be great if it wasn't designed as a power board with usb charger built in.

So the link I posted was for just a usb charger with removable power cable but without the power board feature. Simple.

I recently bought this and the 65W version and am returning the 100W (which is a bit chunkier). The wife and I have Surface stuff that tops out at 65W but can charge on 44W. Also I intend to use it when travelling and Qantas has a 75W limit on its AC ports (or it trips a breaker that they say can only be reset on the ground).

  • +1

I have this on hand and will measure the consumption tonight.

    • +1

lots on youtube already… you better enjoy a glass of whisky tonight

This guy does excellent reviews of various chargers and this particular adapter came out as near top performance and quality - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2OReKLE2aI

Low idle power draw, extremely efficient, has smart internal switching technology and a high power quality factor. I was originally dubious on Baseus compared to Anker, but this particular model seems to come out on top. Ironically better than my Anker 735 65W adapter which I now regret buying.

  • Is the price really for the 100W one? The choices are black or white for $67.91, or black 100W for $78.36.

    • Select Black 100W from the drop-down list. Uses the coupon code PLOCT15 or
PLOCT17 to bring the price down to $66.61 or $65.04 with eBay Plus.

      • after ploct17 = AU $66.25

  • Looks pretty handy for travelling or outdoor use, managed snag one! thanks op!

I tested with a Belkin meter before the input plug and an USB-C meter after the adapter output (type-C port 1):

    1. Idle input:0-0.5W output:0W
    2. Charging Galaxy Z Fold3 at 31% input:20.8W output:16.85W | input:17.5W output:14W | input 13.8W output:10.2W
    3. Charging Galaxy Buds Pro 2 input 3.3W output: 0.71W | input: 3.2W output:0.66W
    4. Using a Samsung 40" FHD LCD as external monitor: 170-175W without problem.

For those concerned with the mixed 65W & 100W listing, I purchased the 100W from a separate Baseus listing https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3140956943 - all pictures indicate 100W version with 2 AC ports.

$65.89 using PLOCT17, plus faster shipping with free express delivery with eBay Plus.

  • Im still cant decide.. this or the 65w anker… anker shape is cute… and with 8way cable.. arg…

    New code PTCH22 expires 11/11/2022

  • Received two days ago and it was $4 cheaper this morning…😤😤😤😤😤

  • Received this charger today and I have no complaints. Even the cardboard box seems well made: the picture of the device on the box has a matte finish, but the piano black finish has a smooth finish, just like the product itself!

I've been charging my Lenovo Thinkbook 14 all day today, plus a few powerbanks, and I've used both AC outlets to charge some Canon DSLR batteries.

Yes, the unit does get quite warm, but not more than any other 100W charger I have and I can pick it up without discomfort.
