  • I bought 9 reams of canon paper from the wendouree store for $1ea. Didn't think it was worth starting a new thread as I didn't know if it is available in other stores.

  • Are the batteries any good?

  • +2

I don't believe this. If I click pickup for two sets of batteries, the price is showing ~$17 instead of ~$12 … the invoice says "batteries ~$12" but magically lists the total as "~$17" … note: ~ means approximately.

    Something is seriously screwed here.

    For 16c a battery, it's worth the risk :)

      I don't take risks with a dick.

    • ? i ordered 2 packs click & collect from my local store. total was $12.48.

    • Hello there,
You're not the only one. It just happened to me too!! I'm gonna argue with them on this one in-store. If they refuse to fix it, I'm going to cancel it.

      • same problem here. ordered 3.
        item subtotal $18.72
        collection fee $0.00
        total $23.67
        unbelievable.

    • When using DSE online I have had weird problems more often than not. It is good to know it is not just me.

    • I'm curious, what ended up happening? In store the C&C just shows up as a normal transaction, so if there's 2 $6 items, you're paying $12, I can't imagine that there would somehow be a different total unless the online system glitched up and added a third item for some reason. Of course if that was the case the person in store should be able to take it off.

I rather be nicked than dicked.

    • classic!!!

  • too good to pass up…ordered 2 units…

  • Thanks, already got many AA, so will pass this.

  • I ordered two too

Printer & Battery's. good day of ozbargaining, both things I already have and have no use for…

  • reviews seem really good, one guy said he's been buying it for 10 years and in recent times has seen leakage, beware. but i bought some anyway, good value :)

  • how long will they last in electronics? eg. a Wii Remote?

    Getting one to try out.

  • where's the battery king when you need him…

  • Cool, my Xbox controller is low on batteries :)

As a DS casual I can vouch for these batteries, we use them all the time in store and even at the full price the 40packs do sell for people who have used them before. Probably just as good as any branded Alkaline (opinion, not scientific lol)

    • I have a battery charging system but at this price it is so hassle free and convenient just to chuck them in and forget about them. They would also last much longer than a rechargeable.

  • How do I use click and collect?

    edit I worked it out

  • Tempting but I've experienced leaking batteries with el cheapos from Coles' home brand and Aldi. These look a bit like the Coles ones, same OEM?

    • I've used these for years - been happy with the quality and battery life.

I suppose this sale means they aren't going to be stocking them anymore. That's a pity because these have been a lot cheaper than the branded batteries and worked really well.

      • Not necessarily, they could be old stock that's been sitting in the warehouse for a bit, ie losing their charge.

  • James from DSE at Rosny Park, TAS, rang this morning to say the online price is wrong and I'd have to pay full price, not $6.48, even though my online order went though correctly. What's up? Is anyone else having this problem?

    • tell him that he is wrong. I just got my confirmation from the store to collect it. No change to the online price.

    • When I went to pick them up from the Glenorchy store, I got a similar spiel (that the online price was a mistake… they didn't have to honour mistaken pricing, yadda, yadda …). But they decided not to upset customers over $6, so they'll do it this time.
What a crock! Its still being advertised online in no uncertain terms (Hot! Save $6.25, Offer ends 24-Jun-12…). They do now say "Offer only available online", but "Click and Collect" is still listed as a valid option.
Dunno if it's worth arguing with Rosny staff. Perhaps just order again and arrange to pick up from the city store.

      • Load of bull by DS Staff…I had no staff question me at my store. Just print out the order and show them. The Reservation Number also confirms the order and the total $ due.

    • i picked mine up yesterday without any problems

  • masters rrp for 100 is $15

    http://www.masters.com.au/product/100021554/utilitech-100-pa…

    1c cheaper! :)

    • DSE ones are better..

      • Based on?

  • Ordered 2 packs click & collect from my local store too, the total was $12.48. I received an email confirmation, and they even called to confirm the order for p/up!

  • Box Hill VIC no problems; didn't even check the order #.
Showed him the order on the phone; "2 packs?"
Goes out back to get them

  • +1

Ordered 2 packs, total come to $17 something online.

Went in to the store and was only charged $12.50

man need AAA for all them remotes…

Ordered via Collect and Pickup online for my local store, Werribee Plaza.

Went in, grabbed two cases and walked up with order in hand.

Guy went out the back to check it, but came back and charged me only $12.48 for the 2 :)

  • Cant think of a worse thing (remotes) to put cheap batteries in… the batteries "sit" in the remote for upto years slowly draining away and most likely leaking throughout the battery compartment and if youre really lucky the circuit board. Oh well the cost of a bargain…..

  • Paramatta Westfield has plenty of them on the shelves/clearance bin at $6.24 each. Not need to order online. Just grab it from the store.

Reserved a pack on line (late) on Sat night. Invoice emailed said $11.19. Went into store to collect today. Lady had the stock there reserved but says that when you reserve online you have to pick up the same day!!
Said that it may not scan up at the special price. Scanned at $6.24.

Reserved on Saturday with confirmation email. No SMS receieved on Sat so I went in to pick up today. After waiting 5 mins to get served and then about 10 mins for the guy to continually disappear to check things, I was told that they had cancelled my order and that they have the right not to honour the price. I was told that generously they could sell me the batteries at $12.50 each.

Have already called an lodged a complaint.
