Mine has been out of milk but plenty of coconut
Coconut >
There goes my diet. Thanks OP. Couldn’t resist
$6.50 on my end too
https://new.igashop.com.au/sm/pickup/rsid/52511/product/whit…If it’s $4, it would’ve been mentioned in their weekly catalogue but it didn’t
$4 at IGA Wynyard
But it's not the same
Nah different chocolate, both delicious though
The Aldi one is pretty good. Not quite the same though.
Blasphemy!
How is $5 for a 250g block of choc a deal. This inflation is bs!
agreed
I can't wait for Hyper Inflation
Must have been a while since I got it, I thought $2-3 would be a deal
Whittaker has always been more expensive than other brands.
Have some Darrell Lea blocks at Coles for $2.50 if this deal upsets you.
https://shop.coles.com.au/a/national/product/darrell-lea-dar…Whittaker was a cheaper brand when supermarkets here first started stocking it. Cheaper than Cadbury. It took a long time for it to be considered a premium chocolate.
It's still not a premium chocolate. It's just the everyday version in NZ, just a better quality than ours.
Yeah I dont get it. Whittaker was the overly sweet chocolate that was sold super cheap with the Chinese import easter eggs…now somehow it attracts a premium? My partner bought a block (to my disbelief) and still tastes the same as when it was a cheapy to me.
In fairness, Cadbury used to be half decent back in those days. So relative to Cadbury now…i guess its half decent. The Aldi stuff seems the go to me these days.
The internet advises that Whittaker's were first exported from NZ in 1985, is this the time you are referring to? 40 years ago?
@AlanHB: My best guess would have been 30 years ago. I'm old.
Years ago, this brand was cheaper than cadbury in BigW, suddenly, it's become a boutique product for some reason or other. The Aldi range of chocolate compares favorably, like for like…
$5 for 250g of chocolate… dear at half the price. ;-p
Same price at coles
No Dark Ghana is a deal breaker
These were $5 normal price weren't they? What the hell do they cost in the shop now?
They're $6.50 normal price in shops now :(
Hazella when?
Is it $4 at Woolies at the moment?
Is it $4 anywhere else at the moment?Wow, impatient chocoholics I guess.
this choc is banger what you on bout
bugga, no dark choc, i'll wait
No white, no deal.
^ this is the comment I spoke to you about on the phone, detective. ^
We've been through this before, hazelnut or gtfo
How is this a deal worthy of front page? Delete
Whittaker's Coconut Milk Chocolate Block 250g on special
$5.00 save $1.50Get back to me when the prices is 50% off
aldi is much nicer IMO
Piss weak deal. AUD to NZD is at strength and price is pumping up?
Yesterday, I saw a multi pack of Double Decker bars in teh Reject Shop with "4 bars for £1" emblazoned on the box, yet priced at $3.50.
There hasn't been three dollars to the pound since the late1990s!Whittaker's [NZ] announced a price increase on social media / media here in NZ in the past week or two.
They are very transparent and get a lot of praise for only changing the price, rather than anything else.
Given the CoL in NZ > Aus, it would suck if our local chocolate was cheaper in Aus - our milk and meat is cheaper in Singapore / UK than it is locally :/ etc.
Where's the deal?
$6.50 normally and at other stores. Currently $4 at Amazon with free delivery over $39/prime.
Deal is you get the item cheaper than normal or other stores.
Understand?
Do you mean $5 at Amazon?
Yes yes I do
Where is this not a deal?
Another person arbitrarily downvoting…
If you can't afford it, don't comment.
upvote because one of those ethical chocolates out there
Tried it for first time last month. It's good but $5 is too alot for me
I don't see how this is a bargain?
Their 6.50 at Coles/Woolies but yeah for 250g these are just inflated prices now.
Yes, you don't. Also, no reason to downvote this bargain.
'No reason to down vote this bargain" - what about the 100+ upvotes - no reason for them either since this isn't a bargain?
Wut.
It's not that often 100+ people upvote a deal and here you are with an arbitrary stance, misplaced question mark, and without arguments.
What does HOKEY POKEY taste like???
Amazon price-matching Coles
