Good'ay fellow bargainers. Was looking for a smart lock for my property but the Eufy lock hasn't been on sale for a while. But can across this deal and thought it might be helpful for anyone else looking for one.

Thanks for the info! looking forward to installing it :) Would the lock work without any wifi? I've just got a place but haven't got around setting up the internet yet..
Yes, you can setup via Bluetooth. The WiFi is for remotely unlock it.
My lock doesn't support wifi, so I guess an extra device is required to connect to internet.
For an extra $20, the option with the wifi bridge is a better deal.
Can you have 2 on the same wifi bridge?
1 wifi bridge per lock unfortunately
From my understanding is that the wifi bridge allows the lock to be unlocked when away and also give access to people entering right?
So the bridge is essentially a wifi adapter then? that enables the lock to connect to your home wifi? that gives you remote control (unlock/lock) ability?
Yes, it has the ability to sync with Google home products as well from what I understand. I haven't tried it myself though.
The wifi bridge is rubbish. Everything else they make is good.
homekit?
Can this be installed on a double door? (One of the doors has the ability to be locked in place)
does it matter if the door opens on left or right side?
Generally no, as with most locks you can remove a locking pin and swap the handle around to other side. Also from their photos it shows it being on left and right handled. I guess you can always look at the installation manual.
Also first customer and questions on amazon explains it.
thanks
What if I want to use it on the side of the door to my garage that opens inwards. So the fingerprint side would be on the side of the garage door to my house that opens inwards. I think that makes sense lol
Just swap the bolt direction around, literally flip it 180deg.
Normally how much the installation would be?

If they still use the same core then you better replace it. From the pictures they probably still use the same core.
came here looking for a LPL video. not disappointed, thank you.
This looks like it uses a different key type. I have the one in the video and you can replace the core with something more secure or fill it in.
They probably changed it after the woeful wavepicking, also they had serious API security flaw with the app which is supposedly fixed. Either way standard cores are pretty easy to replace. The higher end samsung (now called zigbang… stupid name) locks use dimple keys which is a bit harder to pick, but then again LPL picks everything and anything.
Yeah, I'm just going to fill mine in. I got it for ease of use more than security. Will have the backup of the garage door if the lock dies. I will combine with dog who has a scary bark and some kind of security system when I figure out which brand to go with.
make sure you get someone exprienced to install, don't cheap out on that part
I installed 2 samsung locks years back, I think I spent 6 hours per lock to install… had to chisel out the doors and then manage to damage some part and then had to reputty to make things look neat.
But these locks don't look like it has the motor as part of the internal bolt assembly, and doesn't look like you need to do any chiseling. The motors look like it is part of the interior assembly so just a direct swap.
This 4-5 min tutorial doesn't seem to be too hard to follow if your door has all the required 'Holes'.
Would really appreciate some help on identifying a smart lock for aluminium doors.
They're quite slimmer compared to standard door locks, I haven't seen any smart locks myself.
https://mcgrathlocks.com.au/security-screen-door-lock/
Search "screen door smart locks" you will find a few.
Thanks so much - didn't even know what to search for!
Also we have the Yale Unity for our front door, but have also seen a screen door lock from them as well. We are really happy with the Yale Unity but conscious it is more expensive then some of the items listed above.

We're installing one of these on our front door soon > https://www.auslock.net/product/slim-series-31b-full-kit/
The window/door installer gave a good demo so we're going for it.
Been looking at the ultra secua range for our security door. Wish the other brands start making them. Would like Eufy to make one so I can just have 1 app.
Was tempted to go all Yale but I already have the 3in1 Eufy one from kickstarter delivered last week.
Yeah same here - we have quite a few Eufy devices, would prefer to have the locks on Eufy too. The ones they make don't fit our doors. Most of the options for screen door smart locks don't seem to support voice assistants or auto-lock either.
Might be worth waiting till smart locks are built to the matter standards.
This one or deadbolt Which is better secure?
Deadbolt version

or

I suggest having a look at this first: https://www.pentestpartners.com/security-blog/the-not-so-ult…
These locks were subject to major issues:
- No API auth - this means that cloud connected locks were fully compromised, and could easily be unlocked by a hacker impersonating a legit user.
- Vulnerable BLE interface - the token used could be obtained by querying a specific combination of an UUID and a handle. This allows for brute force attacks to be mounted (which will lead to the lock opening).
Issue #1 was fixed, but it's unclear if they ever got around to fixing issue #2. I would personally not trust this device with anything that I value. More annoying to me is the attitude the manufacturers show with respect to these serious problems.
They seemed to fix issue #2.

The risks and problems with smart locks seem to outweigh the perceived benefits. Not suite sure what is wrong with the key I have been using for 40 years.
It's about convenience of not needing to carry a physical key.
A determined person will be able to bypass almost any lock anyway. It's about convenience of not needing to carry a physical key.
I certainly understand that point of view, but I would personally accept the inconvenience of having to carry a key over possibly reduced security and vulnerabilities that come with going digital. Not everything needs to be connected to wifi and be exposing an API. But that's just my opinion.
A determined person will be able to bypass almost any lock anyway
Certainly, but some of these digital locks are making it far easier for them. That's the problem.
@CocaKoala: At various times we have had people who cleaned our house. We can’t guarantee they won’t get a copy of our house keys. With an electronic lock I can wipe out their PIN.
When you rent a property the first thing you have to do is changeover the lock because you can’t guarantee the previous tenant doesn’t still have keys. With the electronic locks you can wipe out all previous access pins.
In our case we have both worlds. The access into our front porch is a physical padlock and then we have the electric lock beyond that.
However, my electronic locks aren’t internet connected.
The risks and problems with smart locks seem to outweigh the perceived benefits.
This is precisely my thinking as well.
I mean the lock is really just a deterance, your windows are far easier points of entry, unless you have security grills over every window burglars won't be entering through the front door.
Better deterance is security cameras and ones that has decent resolution and low light performance.
I have smartlocks and garage hooked up to the cloud, so in theory people can hack them and open them, but then again I don't see why people would bother unless there is a severe localised vulnerability, my locks don't use bluetooth so I don't have to worry about those hacks.
If you live in a high risk area you are better off buying contents insurance than locking everything down and making it look like fort knox. Personally I hate looking out a window and seeing bars making it look like a gaol/jail.
Either most break and enters are from opportunists/druggies who won't be in a state of anything to pick a lock. Raking a lock on the other hand takes no skill and time/effort and any person can do it without raising much suspicions.
Anyone know if this is fire rated? Can be installed on apartment doors?
Got an earlier version of this brand. Complete PITA and now just plugging up the hole in the door I made for it and corroding. None of the features worked reliably.
Sounds like you should have returned it.
They sent another - same result. Just poor quality hardware and software.
Sounds like you should have returned it, not replaced it.
@NeggerOfDeals: They replaced it to try to fix the problem, but the problem was built into the design. Return would have been expensive post to China. The usual get out for this sort of dodgy product.
Thanks op
Thanks OP. I figured I'll give it a go and rely on easy amazon returns if its really bad.
I just checked my door and it has the rectangular block, not the circular one this one is so I've cancelled my order.
Is this a discounted price?
Usually Amazon have a % off if it’s down from the normal price.
Yes normally it is $200+. Was looking at the wifi version a few weeks ago and it was around $250. The lowest price its been on the Amazon US site was 220 AUD for the wifi version, so this is a pretty good deal.
how much is the installation ?
do people not really use security screens much or is it just me? do they just not use smart keyless locks on those doors because you'd need a key for security screen anyway so kinda redundant
Plenty of people stuck renting and if there isnt already one then they cant have a security screen installed.
Having said that they also wouldnt be allowed to install this lock without landlord consent either
Mcgrath Secua Security Screen lock
These are the 2 I'm looking at to marry with my front door lock.
holy smokes that's a lot of money for the convenience of keyless
How is this compared to bunnings grid connect lock
Got one from bunnings and still unopened.

Who does the installation for things like these?
locksmiths?
Carpenter?I'm definitely not handy enough to try
Surely locksmith
Can the combinations be programmed remotely?
Ordered (lock with with wifi adaptor) at 11:15. Arrived 18:40. Fits perfectly with my standard garage-to-house door with its standard round-knob lock hole. Setting up is relatively easy too. Will see how good or reliable it is.
Very good brand. I have one installed at my home and the fingerprint unlock speed is faster than a samsung one installed on my workplace.
