Kogan Mobile Prepaid Recharge Voucher Code: Small (365 Days FLEX, 120GB) $90 @ Kogan

2060

Hi guys, I just saw one of our community member posted an offer with Kogan mobile on the home page. However, Kogan had sent me a more cost effective offer with SMS message. I have try to copy the link to another browser that didn't save my account and the offer is still there. This offer is valid until November 30th, and have to recharge it until December 31st.
Kogan has the e-sim card service and has a 5G trial which ends October 26 unless extended
I have been using Kogan mobile for about 2 years and I had a bad experience with sim card swap as my phone was lost during this period. I have had at least 10 calls with staff in a month to resolve this issue. Besides that, Kogan hasn't give me any other trouble.

I hope this offer will help you

Edit in 2pm 23/10/2022
One of the OPs suggested to get the $2.90 package with 20GB for the first 30 days and get a free physical sim card or a e-sim card. However, there is a issue on the expiry date of voucher. The website said the offer is valid until 30/11/2022, and have to recharge it until 31/12/2022, but some OPs who bought it said the expiry day is 30/11/2022 or 31/11/2022. I'm sorry I can't confirm which day is the correct expiration date because I have 8 months left on my phone package. It would be nice if one of the OPs who had this problem during the purchase process could send an email to inquire about it. I'll update if I find the results of a discussion between the OP and Kogan in a follow-up comment.

    just adding my experience here.
i recharged few days before this deal came up.
So i rang kogan service desk and she didnt know this deal even existed.
Then she advised me to buy the voucher $90 and then call her back so she can refund the original $150 and then she activated the $90. saved $50 from a quick 5-10mins call.

definitely worth it. so if you have the same situation as me, give them a ring and they will happily help you out.

  • can anyone confirm if kogan data is carried over or month by month? 120/12 = 10gb / month then reset each month?

    Will my unused data rollover?

    Prepaid Call & Data Plans

With Kogan Mobile prepaid call and data plans you'll enjoy unlimited standard national calls and texts, plus a whole heap of data to use in Australia! For all Kogan Mobile prepaid call plans, your total data is split into 30 day blocks. Any unused data at the end of the 30 day block will expire and, if you have a 90 day or 365 day plan it will refresh with a new 30 day block.

    • This is the 365 Flex plan, it's not month to month, you get the full 120gb data from day 1.

I've learnt my lesson buying anything from Kogan. Their cs is atrocious.

I went through the hassle of returning some things (misleading advertisements, on the website it seemed like they were different products) and was told by Kogan cs that I'd receive full refunds for everything. They gave me credit instead of the refund. And still waiting for refunds for the other items I returned… which I have a feeling they will just credit me instead

  • I've been doing a bit of research. Back in February, TPG (the owners of Vodafone) did a deal with Telstra, which will allow Vodafone customers to roam onto the Telstra network. In return, Vodafone will allow Telstra to use some of Vodafone's allocated frequencies, and allow Telstra to install Telstra base-stations on Vodafone towers. Both telcos are describing this as a win-win scenario.

This is all awaiting ACCC approval, and I read somewhere (can't find the link ATM) that ACCC's decision is expected "by the end of 2022".

So chances are that Vodafone will soon have better coverage than Optus, as mentioned in some of these articles:

    https://whatphone.com.au/guide/telstra-and-tpg-telecom-agree…
    https://www.afr.com/chanticleer/this-is-what-is-driving-tels…
    https://www.whistleout.com.au/MobilePhones/News/TPG-Telecom-…

    • None of these links are working

      • Weird, I had those webpages open when I posted the comment.

I see my links have some non-printing characters added to the end, maybe I didn't paste them correctly. I found two of the webpages still exist, so I'll paste them here as text rather than as links:
        whatphone.com.au/guide/telstra-and-tpg-telecom-agree-to-share-mobile-network-for-10-years/
        whistleout.com.au/MobilePhones/News/TPG-Telecom-Telstra-network-agreement

Edit: all three webpages work, but somehow my pasting of the links didn't.

I pasted the same comment in another deal, and the links in that comment work, here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/12860952/redir

  • I have an Optus and Kogan sim in Brisbane. Optus is by far the faster option for data on my iPhone in Brisbane. But Kogan seems fine for calls.

I just purchased this and received an email saying the voucher expires on 30/11/2022 despite the website saying 31/12/2022.

I called them and got my expiry date extended to be 31/12/2022.

    • +1

On the same voucher or do they send you a new one?

      • +2

Same voucher with no new email sent. Asked them to send a confirmation email on the date change, they said no. Something about "different department" yada2.

    • Thanks! I'll try extending mine on Monday!

Update: Kogan customer service actually extended my voucher from 30/11/2022 to 31/01/2023 (•‿•)

        • hi mewx, which number did you call? I need my voucher to be extended as well since I'll be overseas :)

I tried to call 12612 (using my Kogan eSIM), but doesn't seem to work
          Thanks

@viperfx07: I filed a ticket on Kogan (not Kogan mobile) for my order

@mewx: update: I've called the customer care (1300 056 426) - and he said that my expiry date is 31/01/2023. He said he didn't extend it but it just says in the system, which is great :)

    • I contacted Kogan customer care via message and the agent told me that I need to wait the voucher expire so they can reactivate it with a new expiration date.
I told him that I had friends that got their voucher extended and he said he couldn't do it before it expires.
Have you called Kogan or Kogan Mobile customer service?

  • Shopback selling $50 with 10% cashback atm. You could buy $50 and then 4 x$10 that gets 2% cashback. Total of $5.80 cashback or if you buy from Kogan buy 2x$50 and get $10 cashback (making this plan $81).

    • Where is this? I can’t seem to find it.

  • I wonder why reception can vary between Kogan Mobile and Lebara, both Voda MVNO?

  • If I purchase the $2.90 30-day plan and recharge this during the first 30 days - does this plan "replace" the 30-day plan immediately after I recharge, or "extend" the 30-day plan by another 365 days?

    • iirc, it replaces your plan immediately

  • Can we confirm that gift cards can be used as payment for this prepaid plan?

    • Yes. Just add the gift cards to your account and it will appear as "Credit".

Then when purchasing, it will show you how much "Credit" you have and you can apply it to the order and pay the remaining balance (if any) with credit card, etc.

I queried customer support about the email which says voucher expires 30/11/22 (website says 30/12/22). They told me it was 30/12/22. I asked if they could extend it and they said as it had not expired, they could not.
I asked if, when it expired, they could extend it for me and they said yes, just reply to this email. :)
