Targus 65W USB-C Charger Brick $24 + $15 Postage @ i-Tech

180

It's old-style, ugly and cumbersome, but if this one port brick meets your needs, it seems to be well priced here. A quick search put it around $80-100 elsewhere.

I'm still working out if it meets my needs. I haven't found many details on charging protocols. The 1.8m cable is handy for desktop access and the 2-pin connection would be useful for travelling (just buy foreign cable).

$99 at Officeworks - I know how you big-city-living OzBargainers operate

edit: credit Price Hipster

Also, shipping will stack on other items. This not-very-fast 4-port desk-hole charger at $15 is increasing the temptation.

  • Yeah need more details on the specs.

  • Could I use this for Microsoft Surface Laptop?

    • If it charges via a usc port. I cant see why not.

    • My Samsung 65W S22U charger happily charges my Surface 7+
So if you have USB-C yes it will.

I have the Lenovo 65w usb c charger which looks almost identical to this and it charges my phone, laptop - surface laptop 3, etc.

  • I got the multi pins model, not bad but size is larger than oem branded charger

    • Link?

      • it's not cheap as per op posted. Bought for over $80 and 90W rating for laptop

  • Good price and it using a figure 8 cable is really useful for travelling overseas.

Really, the only downside I can think of is the fact that it's so big compared to other 65w USB C chargers.

That and the $15 shipping takes it down a few notches on the bargain ladder.

I think getting a good PPS GaN charger and braided 100W cable are better in the long run, in whatever situation. Smaller realestate, in smaller bags, lighter travelling.

Good recommendation would be the new Belkin range: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/belkin-boostup-charge-dua…

Fairly decent 100W 2m braided cable brands from Ugreen, Anker or Satechi, etc.

Last time I researched to buy one, I end up buying Lenovo 65W USB C power supply, quality device with many certificates and compatible outputs, works well with most USB-C devices. $56 free shipping (56% off)

Get it for $25 with Unidays discount, includes free shipping

  • Is there a way to just buy the 2 pin figure 8 cord/adapter without the charging brick? I need a good quality (preferably certified and brand name) one that will work and won't short circuit or explode. 12v? There are countless cheap ones on ebay but the risk there of it killing my device (read some reviews) is too high of a risk

    • These cables are literally two wires in plastic, very little depends on these simple things.

If you really need some higher quality feel, perhaps ask at Apple Store - they should have some for Apple TVs.

  • OOS, so OW won't honour price beat either.
