ANZ Rewards Black Credit Card: 150,000 ANZ Rewards Points, $3,000 Spend in 3 Months, $375 Annual Fee, $150 Back

111

https://www.anz.com.au/personal/credit-cards/rewards/black/

ANZ looks to have updated their offer from 80K points to 150K points. With the $150 cash back credit, the annual fee reduced down to $225.

This deal equates to 75K VFF / 50K Asia Miles / 50K KRIS Miles after meeting spending requirements.

$15,000 minimum credit limit / $65 annual fee for additional cardholders

Can't see any info about minimum income requirements.

Keen for those to comment on the value of this vs the current ANZ Rewards Platinum deal which has a $95 annual fee.

Man, I wish I could apply for this card but I think I ended up closing my previous ANZ Rewards Platinum account in November 2021. Is there any way to confirm exact closing date of a previous credit card account? Would love to sign up for this new offer.

      Call ANZ and ask.

      • Wanted to avoid having to queue up on the phone, I suppose. If there's no other way, then this might be my only choice.

        • You should have received a physical letter when you closed the account as well.

Send a secure message in app - I got a response after about 24h.

Search for an email with the subject line something like "Your ANZ Visa card has been removed from your mobile wallet."

Viola! this did the trick. Looks like I had closed my previous account in early October, so I should be eligible again. Just not looking forward to the application process again - ANZ, in my experience, have been the most difficult bank to process credit card applications.

You clearly haven't dealt with Citi.

@Its Bill Murray: My Citibank cc was nice and easy?

          • @Its Bill Murray: Citi were the best bank ever to churn with. Applied and got accepted that day and had only been in my new job for 1 payslip, and that's all I gave them - still got approved!

            • @firexbug: It so hard for me to read this and believe it. Citi have been the absolute worst for me.

    • signup for credit simple. They list all your cards/loans with open and close date.
I use them to keep a tab of my CC churning affair(s).

      • Just looked up this service and appears to have terrible reviews.

        • Does the job for me. I'm happy with them. Less paperwork and management for a regular churner.

        • Also try getcreditscore and creditsavvy

ANZ is the only bank rejected my application. Sad.

Looking back at my previous application, can confirm, they are a difficult mob to deal with, especially when it comes to processing applications. Despite being on a good income, excellent credit score etc, they required a lot of info to get the application over the line. Not looking forward to applying again for a second time.

      • never again. Call centre was terrible. Line dropped multiple times, asking the same question I have answered online

      • St George has been the easiest for me.
Anz is very thorough, its painful, but credit to someone doing their job well with screening.

        • Thoroughness isn't the issue. It's communication and management. Call centre won't put you through to someone, says they have to call you back. They don't call you back, emails aren't understood properly so it's just a nightmare. Someone I know has tried twice to get a card but failed each time. Not denied, but they drag the process out so long with trying to get things resolved it expires. The last time it hadn't even met the time limit but they said that. Again, call up and dispute it, they say oh you're right, will refer someone to look at this… and then nothing happens again for another month.

same here. I no longer interested in any ANZ offers

      Their assessment team are incompetent

150,000 points is worth $600 in cash or $650 of gift cards.or 75,000 velocity points
    Net Profit of $375

I'd still go the platinum as it's 75,000 Velocity points for less

The offshore team… They don't understand what is salary package, don't know what is shift loading and why health care staffs get more payment if I work on weekend and public holydays. Soo much pain when dealing with them via phone.

Not a great deal compared to the Platinum if you collect VFF

    • Agreed.

    • I went for Platinum few days ago because of 30 status credits, 90 more to hang on to Gold.

  • amex plat is the king

    • Agree. Amex is king of CCs.

  • Can confirm sign up process is still painful.

Currently going through it for the Qantas version, and also went through it last year for this Rewards card.

The things we do for points

  • This alternative seems better:

ANZ Rewards Platinum: 75k Velocity Pts, $95 Travel & 30 Status Credit, $50 Back - $1,500 Spend in 3 Months, $95 AF @ Point Hacks
