      • +4

5% is still good for eBay. It's certainly better than 0%

Thought Deliveroo spend 200, get bonus 30 still on but just expired…. would be awesome if stacked

    • That would have been great. I've still got the spend $50 get bonus $5 (ends 31 Dec).

    • My partner wanted to buy yesterday for that promo, but there were no deliveroo gift cards available.

    Sweet 30% off

Had a bonus spend $50 GC at deliveryroo for $5 cashback

Wish the spend $200 get $30 didn't expire but good savings all round

    😏

Also got 12 months free plus subscription and you regularly get 20 to 40% off some shops.

Don't forget the $12 x 4 discount on your first 4 orders with referral code

Also ROOAU15 gives you $15 off your first $25 order.

    • +2

Free plus subscription, 20% off gc and the regular 25-40% off codes is practically half price meals. My favourite OzB combo.

  • +2

    Ampol is also at 6%

  • Why don't have Woolworths gift card???

    • means ww isn't (as) overpriced. that means you're getting the best price w/o jumping hoops.

      • Hahaha you’re wrong with that one. Typically get better value out of Coles when comparing the two.

  • we need Woolworths gift cards

    • +2

Apparently you can Super Swap to a fuel gift card, get the gift card number via WW Money app, then add it to WW Everyday Pay and use it at WW supermarkets.

      • +1

@Dr-Bargain apart from super swap, try ww insurance if you in market for one. their insurance practices are debated but works for me since last few years. you get 5% gc all time + groceries disc 10% per month on top of your normal reward bonuses

        • Thanks. My current car insurance is with WW. It's really good that I'm getting some percentage off for fuel and groceries as I mostly buy my groceries from WW.

        • Isn't it only one ship per month, for 10%?
          Or is it every shop?

          • @Spending2Much: just once though their GC window pops up almost each time you go insurance portals

            • @will05: Is it only one shop per month, gets 10% discount?
I get 5% gift cards all the time through Perkbox membership from our union

              • @Spending2Much: yup once a month
perkbox - good for you;though I find pricy my local ampol that's why I petrolspy it nowadays

        • 5%? When I log into my Woolies insurance gift card page I see three offerings, Big W at 5% off, Wish at 3% off, Woolies supermarket only gift card 4%. What's 1% between friends?

          • @Poolprouk: dont forget to use ww fuel docket at servo and use ww rewards points/amex/ HSBC 2%/Hiver 5% etc at grocries checkout
I m sure it adds up remaining 1% in question😜😜😜

  • Regarding Chemist Warehouse gift cards, I had a look at the T&C…seems safe to use when purchasing prescriptions?

    • +1

Not sure about Chemist Warehouse, but I was able to use gift cards for prescription purchases from Priceline Pharmacy.

    • seems safe to use when purchasing prescriptions?

Yes, I've been doing so for a few years. Their point of sale doesn't differentiate between prescription and non-prescription when purchasing with gift cards.

    • Yes

  • can we use GC for Ebay when they have afterpay deal?

    • I think you have to put $1 or more as Afterpay, then the rest can be on gift cards.
I don't have AP, so haven't tried it myself.

  • +5

Not sure why Chemist Warehouse giftcards at 3% are so popular. Just get HSBC debit card and you get instant 2% off when you need it as long as the transaction is less than $100 each time. Is extra 1% worth the inconvenience of having to use the giftcard at the counter and having to spend more than what you need right now? Each to their own, but not for me.

    • im buying the giftcard using cashback cc for double dip :3

      • What card is this? Cant say ive heard of cashback credit cards unless you are referring to credit card churning.

        • +1

It was an old citibank cashback card, the cashback rate was variable depending on how much you spent but now had changed to permanent 1% for any amount.

        • This is it: https://citicards.citi.com/usc/lpaca/citi/cards/doublecash/external_dcl8/index.html?ProspectID=825AF9DF95F244DA83E2D6264CE6C8C7&HKOP=3f454730d7594fd54a9c3fa1e03853b9febdd6ac4a14fb8aaafd17d873079ae7&cmp=afa|acquire|2003|affiliatesallother&ranMID=44660&ranEAID=3578001&ranSiteID=4e4NFxuugkU-ca_ngm3x4PUPpkAfawQNIg

I'm going to switch from my amex qantas discovery card to citibank since it's a higher effective cashback.

The amex card had 0.75 qantas point/$ spend, with 3000 points redeemable for a $20 woolies giftcard. This was effectively a 0.5% cashback - disappointing compared to citibank.

Huge thanks to @chen earlier for sending me down this rabbit hole ahaha

Edit: It seems I need an overseas address 😭🤔

    • Yeah, who uses debit cards…..
Credit card for the double dip.

      • I use HSBC debit card for pretty much all my day to day spend.

  • +1

Hopefully one day Shopback will allow purchasing via a Web Browser and without the silly App. So much easier to do on a PC.

    • +1

It would be futile of them to resist your request for this…..

  • Nice. This should stack with the 10% eBay Home & Garden deal.
But I'm not sure if all categories under home and garden is included? Looking at something for the swimming pool

  • How often does ebay's gift cards go to 5% cashback? And also Chemist Warehouse to 3%? Not sure how much I should stock up.

  • Dammit. Went to use the ebay gift cards I purchased from this yesterday and when I clicked purchase checkout flipped out and the transaction failed. Now some of the cards are showing as zero balance.
Ebay support says the cards aren't activated and I should talk to shopback, which seems weird to me since during checkout the cards seemed ok…

  • Missed out again I an idiot. Waiting for deliveroo GC offer for ages and I missed out by not checking my ozb emails yesterday.

    • Looks like you're the winner in the end…

      • Nah I bought more in the next deal. FML and haven't used it yet. N we ver thought deliveroo would just up and go in less than a month time
