Came across this and thought it is not a bad deal. Normal price (EGO hardly do discounts anyway) is $379 so that's some savings especially if you already have the battery.

    why no Ego warranty?

    EDIT: I see this is because Amazon is not an 'approved dealer'. Wonder what ACCC would make of that.

      It's $379 locally, for the price difference, it's not worth the gamble to me. You could probably send it back to Amazon and they'll refund or something if it were a year or two old but more than that, I think you'd be out of luck

      You will still get your 1 year amazon warranty - but not the EGO 5 year limited warranty on EGO outdoor power equipment and 3 year limited warranty on EGO Power+
      So technically ok with ACCC

        I've had amazon warrant things many years after the standard manufacture warranty.

  Sigh, why someone has to post this.

  Amazon started this time around 2-3 weeks ago at $500+ and slowly but by bit down to $295 and if less peope buying it could go down to $270+.
  Once sold out Amazon will import form America and then start at 500+ again.

  As u can see since posted price gone back up to 301.

  It's not cheap. At this price without warranty.

  One can get the ego 5800 model for 279 with full warranty and only slightly less powerful but battery will last longer and it's lighter.

      Yup sorry is the 5300.

      Available locally at Sydney tools, trade tools, total tools and mitre 10.

      Some reviews on YT said the 5300 is better been lighter and use less battery and only slightly less power.

      5300 power is plenty.

    Yes, it’s more powerful than any petrol blower and has the other advantages of no petrol fumes and less noise.

        I've got this blower and it certainly packs a punch and has more power than the Ryobi petrol blower I had, however other manufacturers have petrol blowers with far more power than any battery powered blower out there. I think petrol powered blowers will always have the edge over even the best battery powered blower.

        As it stands, if you want the best battery powered blower grab an Ego.

  Yeah the model with the variable dial is definitely better and when you pull the trigger the power is instant whereas the early model with the lever switch hesitates for a moment.
