Good news, everyone! Hong Kong has reopened and you can get there for a few hundred bucks, sometimes even with a layover in Singapore, if you're up for exploring.

Incoming travelers will be able to do their three days of self-monitoring at home or a place of their own choice. During this time they will be able to go outside but will be restricted from some places.

Arrivals will no longer need to provide a negative PCR test before boarding a plane. However, they will need to provide a negative rapid antigen test (RAT) 24 hours before they board.

During the three-day monitoring period, people will be assigned an amber color under the city’s digital health code, which will prevent them from entering places such as bars or restaurants.

They will need to do PCR tests on days 2, 4 and 6 after arrival, and a RAT test every day for seven days after arrival.

      I got stopped, questioned and searched 6 times in one day with no apparently reason in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Doesn't make it unsafe.

      Keep your trip secret, and delete all social media apps on your phone before you go.

      Yes, you may get arrested because their national security law applies worldwide, but I doubt that they can get you in trouble without anything on your phone.

      Hopefully, they will remove all COVID requirements (every two days or something, you have to get a PCR test in their community centres or HKD 10,000 penalty for a no-show), and everyone needs at least two doses to get access to the dine-in.

      Treat Hong Kong as China or North Korea and be smart when you are there, you will be okay, but I cannot give you any assurance.

      Travel insurance covering legal costs will also give you peace of mind, but I don't know what to do there anyway with the peace of mind.

    Highly likely that the government will change the guidelines if there is a severe outbreak in China mainland or Hong Kong.

    Will scoot honor any changes?

    regarding covid, I think they stick you in a hotel if you test positive, with you obviously paying.
