Follow this link for cheaper price A$686.85 http://www.expansys.com.au/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-unlocked-mar…. And use the same code for Free shiiping.

    • Why's that, what's the difference? D:

      • 1 link takes you to the free shipping special promo, the other link is for the same product, without the special shipping deal. You need to go to the correct link to get the deal - pls see my complete notes below. Thx hope this helps.

    • The OP's deal includes 12 months warranty. Your link doesn't which is why its cheaper

      • I don't see that, neither page mentions warranty, but the site tos suggest all smart-phones have a 12 year warranty.

What did you find to suggest otherwise?

        • Your right in the checkout there's no mention of it, but on the expansy's home page the ad states its a 12 month warranty. Sonic's deal has been deleted from their site now too

      • Pretty sure it's illegal to sell without warranty.

    • This deal is a special promo - offering free shipping for this product url only: http://www.expansys.com.au/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-i9300-unlock… to get the free shipping deal - just enter the code provided in the product page listed into the voucher box to redeem your free shipping :)

You can also get to this deal via the home page deal banner: expansys.com.au

**The link that Sonic2011 has posted is incorrect (that is the standard product offer - not the special promo deal) this link will not get you to the deal.

  • Do these prices include GST?

    • It says if the product is under $1000 the GST charge does not apply. (Which is true for imported products.)

    • No GST if your total order is less than $1000 AUD as per AU imports threshold rule thx.

    • Am I correct in saying that Dick Smith deal is the best one available for those that can get the GST back?

  • If this is Aussie stock, this is very cheap. I really like the look of the white, seeing that most phones these days are black.

    • It's not australian stock, expansys do grey imports.

      • They do offer free express courier shipping though! (via FedEx)

        Seems reasonable.

        • Yes, all devices are only ever sent by FedEx - takes around 3 days for delivery thx.

      • Then you can get it for the same price on ebay.

  • Expansys used to have poor warranty terms of 3 months, according to their T&C it's now 12 months (as of yesterday):
    http://www.expansys.com.au/terms/

Seems a decent deal especially using the link posted by sonic2011

    • still says "accessories including batteries do not carry any warranty"

  • Need someone to verify if they are a reputable dealer or not.

Also is stock held in HK/US or AU?

There's no Australian office listed here: http://www.expansys.com.au/contact-us/

    • Interesting. Years ago they had their office in Melbourne.

    • EXPANSYS have absolutely no presence in Australia (except online). Nearly all their stock is shipped from HK (where their office is also located). I'm pretty sure there are some Aussies working there but it's not an Australian company.

So it's at your risk to deal with a company that doesn't have to comply with Australian statutory warranties and you have no fall back or protection from Office of Fair Trading (or equivalent in your state) if something goes wrong.

They used to offer as standard a pathetic 3-month-only warranty on smart phones and tablets (you could pay extra for an extended warranty). At last they have come to their senses and now offer a full 12 month warranty as standard.

EDIT: I just checked again, they still only offer a 3 month warranty as standard on smart phones and tablets. It seems to be only a one off for this deal where they are offering a full 12 month warranty.

      • 12 month warranty on all smartphones: http://www.expansys.com.au/terms/

      • OK, their policy has only changed of yesterday. They need to update their website.

        It still says here:
        http://www.expansys.com.au/expansys-extended-warranty-servic…

EXPANSYS Extended Warranty Service (For Smartphones)

"Expand your warranty coverage from 3 months to 15 months…"

You can still add the extended warranty to your cart and purchase.

        As "mattgal" said:

still says "accessories including batteries do not carry any warranty"

        That is very poor form.

Also, who bears the cost of shipment back to them in case of warranty claim?
EDIT: Found the answer. From the page you linked to under "3.0 Warranty, section 3.3" it says:

Delivery costs will not be refunded.

        • To me that sounds like a badly worded 3 month extension to the 12 month warranty. (However if it was originally 3 then that makes sense.)

The no delivery refund would be horrible, you'd be spending upwards of $70 getting it to them.

  • Very nice. Just as SS's free shipping code expired.

  • +3

Hey there thanks for posting our deal here tcjm.

    Hi everyone, Expansys AU here.

I want to confirm a few things:

1: Our Standard Warranty was revised yesterday - now all Smartphones + Tablet PCs come with a 12 MONTHS STANDARD warranty - if something happens to go wrong we'll give you our FedEx account # + you can use it to get your item back to us (we'll cover the double shipping) Delivery costs will be free for customers during the 12 month warranty period if there is something wrong with your item. Our warranty was revised yesterday - you can read specifics here: http://www.expansys.com.au/terms/ Go to Section 3. Thx

2: We have an extended warranty option available - you can increase your warranty by an additional 3 months (to 15 months total) - but you'll need to pay for the extra 3 months by buying the extended warranty product when you check out.

**Please note re the extended warranty product: as we changed the warranty text over yesterday + wanted to launch the new warranty up ASAP for 12 months - we are still waiting on our development team to revise the actual text in the extended warranty products (changing it to 12 months from 3 months standard warranty, for example). This should be fixed in the next day or so.

Meanwhile, the Terms and Conditions have been revised - this is the contract that our customers accept when they buy from us - so please be patient whilst our dev team updates the content in the Extended warranty products (I guess these wont be very popular now anyway as we're now offering 12 months standard warranty, up from 3 months).

3: This deal is a special promo - offering free shipping for this product url only: http://www.expansys.com.au/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-i9300-unlock… to get the free shipping deal - just enter the code provided in the product page listed into the voucher box to redeem your free shipping :)
You can also get to this deal via the home page deal banner: expansys.com.au

**The link that Sonic2011 has posted is incorrect (that is the standard product offer - not the special promo deal)

4: The other (normal standard s3 product is the same price, but with no shipping promo - you choose which deal you want: $0.00 shipping/ or $25 shipping! the choice is yours)

5: Spend less than $1000 AUD and the GST rule for imports into AU is: $0.00 GST.

6: Devices are currently located in our Asia Pac warehouse, based in HK - all dispatch from HK.

7: Let us know if you have any further questions. Thx

    • So the stock is coming from HK but if warranty is needed they are sent back to some place in AU, not HK?

    • +1

      Thanks for the clarification!

      Hi everyone, Expansys AU here.

LOL, there is no such business as "Expansys AU". There is only such thing as "Expansys plc", which is not an Australian business in any shape or form. Please don't mislead your customers into thinking otherwise.

Your office and location are in HK, not AU. The only thing Australian about you is that you are an Australian working for a foreign company in a foreign country.

Therefore, Australian consumer protection laws do not apply to Australians who choose to purchase from your website.

Also, better deal below linked to by "vik_chh".

      • Hi there, thanks for that Camelgrass,
Sorry for the delay - as we are NOT in Australia, we are capped to 5 responses each day - which I had used up, so had to wait to post again, so here I am.
I refer Expansys AU as short term for Expansys.com.au (or Expansys Australia, which we have been traditionally been known as + are still referred to by some of our customers, as a brand name more than anything as we once had a local AU-based operation). Actually, our operating falls within Expansys HK Ltd, not PLC - we are all part of the same group however.
We don't pretend to be in AU, or to be an AU registered company at all - in fact our address details are clearly stated on our contact us information page: http://www.expansys.com.au/contact-us/ this is all noted in our terms and conditions where we note that we do not charge for GST as we are not an AU registered company.
We have no secret there in any way - thx for picking this up though so that I can clarify.
The reason for why we have an AU domain is due to the fact that our parent company (PLC as you've noted) operates in over 100 countries and has over 60 country dedicated sites, that operate specifically to ensure that products listed on those sites are compatible with the local markets - ie frequency for example. A mobile phone being sold on one of our other sites like expansys.com may not work in AU for example.
Our Asian hub (based in HK) looks after our ANZ and greater Asian operation, and whilst we are not an Australian company - nor are many ebay sellers, or other online stores that are popular importers into the AU market.
If we didn't understand + respect our customer's local needs, we'd not be the thriving business that we are today - especially with buyers being so online savvy these days -with online reviews / banter etc.
I'm very happy to say that I see '000s of Aussie customers making the choice to shop with us each month. Really, we just provide a choice and try to offer a competitive price akin.
Please note that I didn't post this deal here - I'm just writing some notes here to try to help out + to clarify some points.
Most of this is referenced on our website.
Thx - let me know if there's anything else that you'd like me to cover off for you here today.
PS: Out of interest, how does my being Australian hv anything to do with this? I didn't note that I was - did I?

  • PayPal payment processing seems to be down?

    EDIT: Never mind, used CC.

  • Better deal for Australian Stock. 24 Months Manufacturer Warranty - $699 Delivered.
    Link: http://www.thinkofus.com.au/Samsung-i9300-Galaxy-S-III-16GB-…

Get it quick if you can - they have a reputation of running out of stock quick.

    • Looking at their other phones, only a few are Australian stock, eg. the Samsung Galaxy Note is $530 (+$25ship) but 12 month warranty so non-local stock. Would be better to go with Kogan etc. in that case.

      • You're prob. right in most cases but just cos it's only 12 month warranty doesn't necessarily mean it's not AU stock. There was another deal I saw on OzB that claimed to be AU stock but only came with 12 month warranty.

      • I didn't post anything about Galaxy Note..

        • I know you didn't, I replied to you in relation to the store. Was just looking into the store because I hadn't heard of them before, your deal was great & I was seeing what else was there. Just used the Note as a example of how they compare to others.

        • Alright, no worries.
Surprised to see my comment negged by 2 users, when the deal is still valid and cheapest around for Aussie stock.

        • I don't see where it says its Aussie stock.

        • Well, bad luck for you - because it said right there in the title and as I wrote - now it's out of stock.

        • Haha I missed that, and no… it's even cheaper now.

        • Ha ha. Yeah, but Out of stock.
That's a good way of having a customer wait for it.
And bring it back in stock on $699.

  • My credit card was charged $22 international transaction, even though I paid in AUD and bought it from the .au website!!!

So my phone was even more expensive than the invoiced amount!!!
There was no warning that my Credit Card would be charged $22 because I didn't even know it was an international transaction, and I would have used a different card.

Worst of all…I haven't got my phone yet because FedEx delivered it to someone who put a fake signature on the package!!! Still undergoing investigation.

    Not a good start :(
