Japan is back and open from October 11, and Jetstar has a sale on from noon today to Tokyo from Cairns and Gold Coast from $289 one way.

All flights include 7kg carry-on.

The five-day sale runs from 12.00 noon to 11:59pm AEDT Tuesday 11 October 2022, unless sold out prior and travel dates vary per route but include mid-October to mid-December 2022.

Also check flight search aggregators as OTAs are likely to capitalise on this by pricing even lower.

Fares are one-way and web only. Checked baggage not included. Not available on all flights or days. Availability may be limited. Prices based on payment at jetstar.com by POLi, Jetstar voucher, Jetstar gift card, Jetstar credit cards or bookings redeemed only in Qantas Points. For all other bookings, a Payment Fee applies.     That happend to me least japan trip cancel our flight back but they put us up in narita for 2 nights with meals included. Only downside was railpass had expired so daytrips to tokyo added up $40/pp rt.

      Oh no when was that? Pre covid? How could you end up in narita if the flight cancelled? Rescheduled for the next 2 days and they covered the hotel?

        Yes before covid, they covered the 4 star hotel sadly you dont get a choice of hotel. We enjoyed the extention of our holiday. But staying in NARITA is less than ideal. I have had them cancel my out bound flight and we only got a $10 meal voucher, they did not give us any other compensation not even the taxi ride back home. They did let me change my return flight for free. You just have to realise this is the risk with jetstar.

  Would be a perfect time to go, Oct-Nov is my fav time in Japan.

    Yes autumn color is 2nd to beautiful, first of course is spring though i havent gone as the hotels are sooo expensive
