How does this work? Load the card then spend? Is cashback instant back to your account?

    • Yes, Bano is a bank account that gives the debit card, similar to Revolut. There's some discussion about it in my previous post:
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/711564

      • Is revolut any good? I'm getting sick of creating and managing accounts.

  • How did it work previously with gift cards since you are not charging the full amount to the card and using the gift card instead?

    • +1

In the previous deal like Ikea, we could just buy gc in-store using our debit card to meet the minimum amount. They probably wouldn't be able to know what we buy, like all those Amex deals, but someone need to try

      • Who is going to bite the bullet hahah

        • +1

I tried but my subway doesn't sell giftcards.

          • @Bdawg: Oh duh lol. Thank you for your service. Guess Bano wins this time.

  • Ok so I just signed up using the random referral on desktop PC.. I recommend people sign up on mobile device as at the end of the process it tries to direct you to Apple or Google Store and downloads apk file which does nothing on desktop.

Also some of the random referrals said "Bano Client" , some had the people's names. Not sure why it would say Bano Client and not the person's name… maybe they didn't complete verification and create an account?

Edit: So once you register, you still need to open an account after that?

  • I think eatclub had a better discount, for the very first time order with them. And also it wasn't a Cashback rather full discount upfront. But this is not a bad offer, if you already used eatclub deal in past.

  • It says you have to use bano visa card. Does this mean physical card only or virtual will work? I just applied for a virtual, it says within 2 business days, any idea how long they normally take? I was counting on half price Subway for dinner in 3 hours, woops.

Virtual will work fine, just add it to ur mobile wallet. Took me like 15 mins when I did it last time to get it.

      • Nice, hope it's that quick, I'm really hungry and I promised my missus haha.

  • So one tried to buy a gift card on the subway website yet?

None of the stores in Brisbane CBD seem to have gift cards, only Sub Cards and the staff are clueless and don’t know how to load funds on there.

    • +1

Same clueless staff here in Melbourne too…
They stuffed up my gift card payment as well.

One thing you can do is, load that gift card onto your app account and then place online orders only to make sure you pay via your gift card credit.
There’s also a dedicated Subway phone line to load those gift cards for you.

Will it count for this cashback though, over the phone sounds to be the same as online?

  • Btw, add ur card to your Cashrewards account, as they have this deal running until tmrw:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/728508
Whether it will stack/get paid, I don't know, but no harm to just add our card in there

    • You're an ideas man! I'll laugh so hard if this works.

    • I haven't used bano before, I just add the virtual card to googlepay/applepay and then pay that way?

      • +1

Yes for the virtual, or later on you'd also get the physical card. Might have to enter the card number manually on some phone (that add to wallet thing is a hit & miss, based on others comment)

        • Cool thanks. I had to add it manually. Subway for din dins!

  • Has anyone tried buying a gift card in store?

    • I tried but my local one said they don't sell gift cards.
