$20 Cashback with $100 Spend at Special Gift Cards @ NAB Goodies

820

Great offer from NAB Goodies. $20 back on $100 spend at Special Gift Cards! One cashback per customer.

I got an Aussie Explorer which I use at Ampol! :). Plenty of other cards to suit as well.

Check your offer in the NAB App. Scroll down from Home Screen, select Goodies, scroll through offers to see if it appears and activate it.

Likely targeted, partners account got it, mine didn’t.

Note:Check offer terms and claiming details by reviewing the offer.

NAB GOODIES It seems to get an offer, you must use your card at least monthly to get (and also keep) the Goodies offers appearing.! Source: Email T&C's

    Nothing on my account.

Almost always never anything on NAB Goodies, unlike my CBA Yello has been quite generous…

    • +2

Someone would disagree with this 😂

      • Well my NAB is there dormant with very minimal balance (<$0.10) though… maybe that may make the difference, not my main bank, while CBA has a ton of activity.

@Coops1: Actually, if you look at the NAB Goodies terms and conditions there are a few criteria you need to meet to remain eligible for NAB Goodies. For example:

            • You must have completed at least one purchase transaction in the last 30 days on any eligible NAB Card (which you already pointed out).

            • You must be the primary cardholder of a NAB personal credit card (if applicable).

            • You cannot be in dispute with NAB or in the process of leaving NAB.

            • You cannot be receiving an income support payment from the government (e.g. Centrelink).

            • +4

@WookieMonster: Blimey, Centrelink bit is pretty harsh! Ridiculous even!
(quickly switches payments to another bank 😀)

    • i toggled it on from the App and took few days

I've been battling with NAB chat for over a month trying to get activated for Goodies, what a hassle :/

    • Was relatively quick and easy for me- hit them up on chat, requested to be eligible for Goodies, they confirmed that I consent to receiving marketing updates, said yes and voila, all sorted out in the next few days.

    • +1

I called them up about the same thing. Apparently there is nothing that could do to activate it. I've been a customer for almost 20 years

      • Exactly the same situation it’s ridiculous.

        • I called and they say they needed to opt into marketing once they did it fixed it and now I have goodies. Why don’t you call and ask to be subscribed to marketing?

          • @wdw: that's exactly what I've been trying to do and it hasn't worked and they can't explain why.. it's an ongoing investigation.

We need to wait for the mods to update the post (busy doing good things), I reported it as targeted soon after posting :), and mentioned it in the post.

Got it and bought a 100 woolies card thanks op

    • You could use it @ Woolworths directly. It works at Ww.

  • +1

Got it thanks. Also $5 on $5 EatClub.

    • I got the Eatclub offer too 😊

  • +1

I've got the offer but ironically none of my NAB cards are allowing me to buy it, they are all getting blocked.

    • turn off wifi on your phone.

    • The anti fraud measures are weird..I had the same issue and contacted them. They suggested changing my email from the "custom" one I did for the site…to my normal email and it went through. Not sure if they did anything or whether it flags email addresses with "special" in them as suspicious.

Weirdly this is the second vendor in the last month that claimed my email was suspicious because it contained the name of the vendor in it.

  • Nothing for me

  • Besides woolies card, what else recommendation?

Aussie Explorer for Ampol and some other good stores - if you have enough grocery gift cards

      • Thanks really helpful.

  • +1

Offer is available for me, but card is declining on purchase.

  • I did 5 transactions last month and didn’t get this.

  • Thanks OP for the post. Got it.

  • Note, their gift cards are DEBIT CARDS not gift cards.

    • I am looking to use the Sporty one at Rebel - will I be able to use it online?

      • Mine had a debit card number to just online

        • +1

Cheers, I stopped being lazy and checked the FAQ:

When you’re ready to make your purchase, you simply navigate to the check-out and enter your Special Gift Card details directly into the Credit Card field. …

  • Bah, I forgot my transaction this month

  • I think I read somewhere that the techhead card can be used on Qantas marketplace or in the Woolies everyday giving app, anyone know if this is right?

    • I think I read somewhere that the techhead card can be used on Qantas marketplace

That would be a little surprising, considering when I checked recently, Qantas Marketplace was using MCC 3012 (which is the MCC allocated for transactions at Qantas).

However, considering you previously said it worked on My NRMA Benefits (which itself appears to be categorised as MCC 7922 - Theatrical Producers (except Motion Pictures), Ticket Agencies), anything is really possible with the Tech Head gift card…

or in the Woolies everyday giving app

That would be extremely surprising. Read here for a more detailed explanation.

    • I tried adding it to my Everyday app, but can't, I can only use this online :(

      • I bought one in December and added it to my google wallet.

        • You can checkout ot everyday rewards app with g wallet? Wow, mind blown

  • Got it thanks

  • Super painful to redeem and use - issued as an apple wallet gift card. Regret even with the savings.

    • +3

It’s a breeze. Get a Woolworths special card. Then buy any gift card you like in Woolies when on special

    • Yep, I regret buying this now :(

  • Be careful with these cards, you may not be able to redeem the whole gift card amount. You can only enter one debit card at checkout, so you basically need to buy the exact amount.

    • What about a split payment debit card & credit card?

    • You can use it more than once like a regular debit card and if you're in-store, just go to a cashier and do split payment to spend the rest of it if needed

  • So the Aussie explorer can be used to purchase fuel in store at Ampol? Couldn’t see anything on the page about that…

    • Add it to google wallet or apple pay and tap.

Special gift cards are a bit… special.

Special gift cards are prepaid Mastercard gift cards that can be used at selected merchants. There are two types of Special gift cards:

      • Brand cards: prepaid Mastercard gift cards that only work at specific merchants (e.g. Woolworths, Ritchies IGA, BWS).

      • Category cards: prepaid Mastercard gift cards that only work at specific merchant categories (e.g. service stations).

The Aussie Explorer gift card is a category card that works at a handful of merchant categories. Special are not transparent about the categories each of their gift cards work at, but if you look at the Featured Retailers on the Aussie Explorer gift card page, it mentions 7-Eleven, BP, Shell and “Ampolcash”. Considering the first three are service stations and “Ampolcash” most likely refers to “Ampol”, the assumption is that the Aussie Explorer gift card works at service stations (most likely MCC 5541). I have used Aussie Explorer gift cards to pay for purchases in-store at Shell Coles/Reddy Express and OP has previously done the same at an Ampol, so it is safe to assume the Aussie Explorer gift card works at any merchant using MCC 5541 that chooses to accept prepaid Mastercard gift cards.

Keep in mind that the list on the Featured Retailers page is not exhaustive. For example, on the Tech Head gift card (another Special category card), its webpage does not mention anything about it working at Amazon AU, but this person a few months ago said they got theirs to work at Amazon AU.

This appears very strange to me in the terms and conditions as a disqualifying factor:

“messaging a banker via the NAB app or by calling NAB at any time – this will result you in being unsubscribed from all direct marketing from NAB (including NAB Goodies “My Offers”)”.

    • +1

I assume its badly written and means calling or messaging them to ‘unsubscribe from direct marketing’

    • +1

Why would they reward a customer that expects personal customer service? I mean we all know that costs the bank money time profits. sarcasm

  • Do we need to have special gift card App to download the gift card on android wallet? finally a useful offer, but the app is region locked for me :(

    • +1

You can also access your gift card’s details by logging into your Special account via the website. Once you are logged in, go to the gift card and find the details to spend the gift card online. You can use the same details to manually add your Special gift card to Google Wallet (but not Samsung Wallet, as that is currently not supported).

Finally, something cheering about. Thanks for posting.

  • Anyone got their cashback yet? Commbank are quite fast.

Just checked and looks like it came through yesterday or the day before. I made a purchase last Wednesday

  • The offer disappeared :(

    • mine too, not sure if related to:
      - You must have completed at least one purchase transaction in the last 30 days on any eligible NAB Card

checked it's indeed my last purchase was just over 30days…
I made new purchase today see if it can be re-triggered.

      • My last transaction was less than 30 days so don't think it's because of that. Also, I'm still able to see other offers. Really hope they are not cancelling this offer

        • You triggered FOMO in me so quickly bought an Aussie Explorer card on Special (I still had the offer on my app)

          • @Craze: @Craze @test8888 sorry guys I freaked out - I just got the cashback today. I think what happened was they credited the cashback yesterday and removed the offer on the same day. The cashback is then reflected on the following day (ie today).
