Although Acers aren’t built for quality, this is still a fair price considering the current exchange rate. Get it before everything goes up in price!

    • It's main advantage is it's the lightest / one of the lightest dedicated GPU laptops, anything else around this weight is $2k+ usually

      • Looks like decent 300nits anti-glare screen.

        Ports:
HDMI® 2.0, Two USB 3.2 Gen 1, USB Type-CTM port: USB 3.2 Gen 2 (up to 10 Gbps), DisplayPort over USB-C, DC-in jack for AC adapter, 3.5 mm headphone/speaker jack

    RAM Expandable To (GB) 8

  • This looks like a good deal

Is there a 1650ti version for this??

  • Just can't do this build quality. Otherwise good specs.

    • Are the acers really that bad?

      • Acer Spin I had (technically still do) actually has good build quality. Think its more metal based, and definitely heavier.

But creaky plastic is definitely a hallmark of Acer's cheaper line up. If it was this light, I'd be checking it out in store first if possible.

In my humble opinion, Acer is good at running the budget computer game. They cut costs and put money in the right places. As a result the build quality isn't great, but the hardware inside is. Honestly if I am buying a budget laptop I want every last cent put into the actual user experience rather than the case it sits in. No point having a machined alloy body laptop if the things got 4gb ram, 120gb ssd and a celeron from two years ago.. If build quality is important then I reckon budget needs to jump up at least $500 if not more.

        • Yes agree. Looking for a school laptop for my year 7 child - thinking of going an Intel m15 nuc as she doesn't use it for gaming. If you can wait until lenovo has another stupid insane education store sale you can snap up the IdeaPad Gaming 3 15" AMD for 999. Best of both worlds.

  • Acer 8s simply great, have been using different models for about 10 years now, no issue at all

  • Acer sometimes isn’t that bad. my antique Acer Aspire 1810TZ was working well ( at least successfully load into windows) last year.

  • I have the 3050 version of this and very happy so far. Can feel a little plasticky but overall sturdy build, handles most mid-weight games on medium settings just fine, plenty of io and most of all very portable compared to others in its class and price. highly recommend for this price esp if last point is a key decision factor
