Extremely short expiry on bonus gift card. Gift cards are meant to have at least 3years validity under ACL.

Also if you do purchase this deal, the bonus card will be hidden in some other bizarre place in the app, not with the gift cards.

      And it’s Kogan

Gift cards are meant to have at least 3years validity under ACL.

      Not for temporary promotional ones.

      • +2

So it may be better offered as a limited time promotional coupon, rather than gift card as it is not in a sense what we would expect it to be by definition.

        • There's no requirement from ACL for that.

            @Ughhh: You can go on about fine print, however it's the reputation that is at stake here, by;
            - seemingly short expiry
            - bonus hidden elsewhere in app (!)

@chyawala: I assumed your initial concern was about legality (hence mentioning ACL), rather than marketing strategy…
But yes, going the extra mile of what is legally required usually makes customers happy.

Only buy it if you have something to buy now. Last time $20 credit for $50 was much better deal. The bonus $20 used first, then $50.
The clause said not to use with other credit is worrying

Thanks OP. Used to purchase 12 months prepaid sim https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/725792

    • how did you redeem the gift card? the codes are longer than 10 digits

      • Look for adding a eVoucher in your account. So technically not a gift card.

        • legend! thanks

I fell for this last time and it expired. Never again, so dodgy. I'm done with kogan.

  • What recourse do you have if you buy something with the vouchers and it never arrives or arrives broken?
