My local Woolies stopped selling potato buns and the brioche buns they sell are way too sweet. Aldi makes better brioche burger buns but I've recently stumbled across Tip Top potato buns from Coles. I was highly impressed! Definitely making chicken burgs soon.
I used to always do siracha mayo but last time I've did the following:
1 large red onion chopped and then charred.
4 gloves garlic, minced.
1/2 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup red wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar
1 tsp of smoked paprika
1 tsp of dried oregano
1 teaspoon of salt
4 to 5 tablespoons of kewpie mayo (Japanese mayo)
1-2 tablespoon of ABC hot chilli sauce. This sauce is quite spicy so depending on your spice levels you can adjust it accordingly.
Mix all of the above ingredients together and enjoy! I found this to one of the best sauces I had made for a chicken burger. You can also use the leftover sauce as dipping sauce for chips.
omg this made the news and Ozbargain should take some credit for it. Now its going to be sold out even more!!!

"News" 🙄
"Journalism" now consists of browsing tiktok and instagram for content and writing about it with screencaps and linked videos. Those so called articles are usually just a long worded write up of the social media post with exaggerated wording. A video that would take you ten seconds to watch somehow becomes a one page article on these news websites.
"Articles" like this is sponsored content. You can usually tell by the clickbait titles
How do you guys make these? Airfry or deep oil fry?
Air fry
Definitely don't need to deep fry these.
Thanks to Ozbargain, I walked into Woolworths a few weeks ago and bought the 10 litre mistral air fryer for $49, yet to open and use. I also bought two packs of the chicken and two packs of the burgers, yet to try.
My question is, will two packets of the chicken fit into my new air fryer at the same time? And if so, how long should I be cooking them for? It's my first time air drying and I'm kinda excited tbh
They'll probably all be sold out before you walk in to Woolworths so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
I usually get into Woolworths at 7am right when it opens. I think I'll be fine. Besides, if you read properly, I said I already bought some when they were half price a few weeks ago I've yet to try. But thanks for no helping at all.
Ah you fat bastard… I also went in this morning and relieved my local woolies if 3 louisiana style chicken burger and 2 chicken portion bags. Let's see if they stack up as you say.
@Rick James18: Fat bastard? Are you projecting? Stack up as I say? I haven't even tried them lol your reading comprehension is really poor.
Two packets of chicken? So two kilos of chicken? I would say definitely not. And even if it did you shouldn't do it, air fryer needs air to work, if you crowd the basket it won't be as crispy.
Thanks! I'll keep that in mind and maybe do them in two or three batches at a time. I just thought a 10 litre air fryer was quite large and could handle it!
Are these spicy at all?
Nashville yes, relatively. Louisiana no.
only had 1 packet of the burger portions left at one store, going to have to visit a few stores to stock up
There weren't any Louisiana portions at the store I visited. Got one pack of the Louisiana burger and one Nashville portions. Also picked up some chips, frozen roast veggies, Rustica pizza.
Air fryer is going to get a workout.
Heaps at Carrum Downs, VIC. Both types of portions down the back in the normal location. Burgers are at the left end of all the freezer cabinets in the Specials section. Go nuts …
Had these for the first time last night, there was one burger pack left buried under the portions. Was really good in a bun with some tomato, lettuce, cheese and some burger sauce.
What kind of cooking time/temp are people doing for the portions in the airfryer? I grabbed a bag this arvo but I'm a little surprised that the recommended cook time is 60min. If I'm cooking for that long, I'm tempted to just turn on the oven and cook the whole bag instead of 1-2 pieces in the airfryer.
Honestly recommend the air-fryer option instead of the oven - had the same thoughts as you but ended up needing around 30-40mins in the oven at 200-240C.
There was an excessive amount of oil drip towards the end to the point where I could hear the dripping and some portions needed to be cooked more so the times will vary regardless.
Probably will avoid the chicken portions in the future due to the amount of oil
The burger portions are also quite salty. Not good with American cheese. Swiss or Gruyere would go well.
Where is vu?
how are people cooking these in the Air Fryer?
$7 at woolies again.
Not for me (VIC).
Me either. (SA)
On special again starting Wednesday
I get some in Perth that's imported from the states. It's not plastic but holds together really well when you melt it on a burger.
