Not far off the best price according to the camels. Good ratings overall but some bad reviews mixed in too. The Worx Pegasus Work table seems to have skyrocketed in price. Maybe this is a good alternative.

  • Made in India…..not often you see that for anything outside of clothes & bedsheets

    • India still makes a lot of hand tools apparently (planes and similar). Rex Krueger (I think) did a whole video on Indian planes.

I bought 2 of these earlier in the year (for more money) - have only used them once so far, but they are well made etc.

This was $142.80 during Prime Day, so this is an even better deal.

I have the Pegasus Worx, it has ¾ inch (19 mm) dog holes. Hard to get suitable clamps etc as most MTF tables and this bosch are 20mm dog holes.

If I had to buy again, I would get the Bosch

These are pretty well made. Have had mine for a number of years and has been very handy, enabling me to do cuts outside of the garage, or to bring inside if I'm working on something.

  • The Reject shop sell a very simple folding work bench for about $30. Missing a lot of the features of this one, and probably not as durable, but if you're not going to use it much it might be worth a look.

Those cheap workbenches are awful. The work surface is smaller, the footprint is smaller so less stable, the legs are more difficult to open, and the cheap steel rusts.

But they work fine for occassional light use. And since they're cheap you won't care too much if you drill or cut into them, or decide to screw in a small bench vise.

      …but they're pretty awful to use. :)

      • Generally, handtools and similar is one thing where you get what you pay for, that's for sure.

  • Thanks OP looks good, got one.

  • This isn't something you'd attach a circular saw to, right?
As in it goes under the benchtop upside down and the teeth stick out inbetween the bamboo boards.

    • No, although technically you could do that with any table if you had the right bolts. :)

      • Now that I think about why not:
not stable enough, too small, part of the benchtop moving/being a clamp.

Similar reasons why you probably wouldn't use a mitre saw on it.

Apart from making your own, can someone recommend any cutting tables for that purpose of attaching a circular saw?

You can with this one, it's pretty solid. You definitely wouldn't want to do that with the cheap $30 workbenches though.

If it's for basic light use, what about a cheap table saw?

Is around $30 delivered with eBay coupon code.

    • More like $20 with code and no comparison to the Bosch.

      • Of course because it's a fraction of the price.

        • Would you also post a link to a Vivo phone in an iPhone deal? What's the point?

          • @eug: True. But for occasional use the cheaper option may be worthwhile considering or as a second addition to the Bosch. As for phones, given you use it multiple times each day no I wouldn't share other phone deals unless quite a close compromise vs price.

            • @0 0 0: A comment mentioning the pros and cons would have helped. You just pasted a link to a cheaper one with no comment, as if you're implying the $30 one does the same thing as the Bosch.

Thanks for posting this, though I did a quick visual comparison and decided to keep my Bosch order. The Bosch one is superior in various aspects:

      • over twice the working surface area (with a footprint that is nearly identical to the stratco one)
      • twice the weight capacity
      • has extra bracing and struts in numerous places.

Overall Bosch one looks better built, higher quality, safer to use. I reckon it's worth paying $103 more.

      BOSCH
Length of work bench: 680 mm
Width of work bench: 680 mm
Height of work bench: 834 mm
Load bearing capacity, max: 200 kg
      Weight: 11.6 kg

      STRATCO
      750 x 600 x 450mm overall size
      560 x 240 mm worktop
      100kg weight capacity

Back up to $204, missed it :'(

    • Wth, was showing the deal was for the next 6 days!

      • +1

Saw that too and thought I might buy at the end of the week.

        • Sorry, looks like Amazon is having a Bosch week which is where I tried to get the date for the expiry. Still have limits to number of purchases at that price I guess.

          • +1

@ozbs25: All good. It stated on the actual page that it expired in 6 days. That disappeared when the price went back up. Have to wait til next time I guess!

          • +1

@ozbs25: Yeah, yet they didn't say "until promotional stock lasts", then just brought the old price back.

I guess that's standard lack of decency by Amazon.

And I defs referred to Amazon's page, not you deal, OP.
