If you can find an extra $60, this is a better buy IMHO. It uses less power, offers IP54 protection, has more memory, has a brighter display and (most importantly) is ~30% more accurate.

The green model has the cute touchscreen as is marketed towards DIYers.

The blue is the tradies' choice and rarely goes on sale (last one almost two years' ago)

The blue one shows that it's accurate to around 1.5mm, pretty impressive!

        Indeed.

My old man purchased a first-gen laser measurer many eons ago. The ±0.5% accuracy sounded amazing until you realised that, at 20 metres, you'd be up to ±10cm of the actual measurement. Ooooft!

      • This green model says +- 2mm

  • Only 30% off?

    • It was $192 before this deal according to 3 camals, not sure why it shows reduced from $132 rather than $192.

  • Is the Bluetooth and app worth it? There is the new green beam version for around $160.

    • Can you please link the new green version?

    • It likely depends what you're using it for.
If looking at homes, I'm hoping that linking measurements to photos via the app can help me remember the sizes of rooms and other dimensions, especially after a Saturday visiting half a dozen 'opens'. $108 is not much if it reduces the chances of a mistake on a 7 digit purchase.

      • I found it pretty clunky to use, and just found myself drawing a basic diagram on paper and then just writing down the measurements.

But most houses for sale have a floor plan, i'd just print that and write any measurements on it. Way simpler.

  • Does this help DIY guys? In what ways? Tempted to buy one, but dont know what Id use it for.

Use it instead of a tape measure, much less mucking about
