Need one for timber floor some carpet area.
I haven't owned a robot vacuum cleaner before. So don't know what to choose. Seeing this deal look pretty good
Wonder what this deal compared to https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/724449
Thanks!!

I've got a couple of those cheaper EUFY's, and for the money I reckon they're awesome. Handy to do a vacuum with a 'real' vacuum cleaner though, and then let the cheap bot vacuum do a daily. Rarely need to get the big vacuum out unless we skip too many days with the bots. We have a relatively small house, and have each doing half - that way they tend to cover everything.
Yes…they easily get stuck, but eventually you get to understand what the hazards are for them, and can just keep things dumb-bot friendly.
Gotta keep the paper and sponge filters clean too (every now and then), as they tend to fill with fine dust eventually and it has a very negative effect on suction. Also obviously keeping the rollers untangled is handy (especially if you have pets or family members with long hair).
My wife is sold on robot vacuum cleaners now. We'll eventually get a decent one with mapping and a base station for emptying, but not until these cheapies die.
IMO the additional money you pay for all the extras (self emptying, mapping app etc) is hardly worth it. The trusty roomba's that just use sensors are great for what they are and should have enough charge & capacity to do a full home. You can also pick them up cheap on marketplace or gumtree, a new battery & brushes is under $50
I own this exact model of vacuum. AMA.
Does it work?
thanks all for the valuable feedbacks! I'm now consider maybe a cheaper version instead :)
I think it depends a bit on how big your area is, how well you want it to clean carpets, how "complex" the area is (ie. is there a bunch of stuff that it could get tangled with, in which case good mapping may be important), and probably most important - are you likely to be watching the thing.
Reason for the last comment - I bought a Eufy 35C for $99 from JB HiFi 19 months ago. It works well enough for hard floors (not so good on carpets - although it does keep the carpets looking OK because it picks up the loose stuff - it will never clean a dirty carpet though), but it is mind-blowing frustrating to watch it bumble around aimlessly bumping into stuff. If you are not there to see it and the rooms are relatively "tidy" (not much for it to get stuck on), then a simple one is probably fine. Just set it to run 5-7 days a week and empty the dustbin every few days and it will do a decent job of keeping the floors clean.
If you want it to clean carpets in a similar fashion to a "standard" vacuum, you will either be disappointed or have to spend up big because the robots just don't have that level of suction power.
From what I have read the mop functions generally don't work very well on most of them - I wouldn't pay extra for a dual function robot that mops - I would prefer a straight vacuum.
I have been pretty happy with my basic Eufy (especially for $99). I have just bought a replacement battery and brushes because the originals were getting tired after about 500 runs.
The first one I got was a Ecovacs Deebot 600 (it was the original $99 deal at JB last February) - it lasted 1 run and refused to charge after that. JB didn't have any more and gave me the Eufy 35C as a replacement - it think it is a better unit, but the Ecovacs app was a little better. The basic Eufy I bought also came with some magnetic tape for creating barriers, whereas the basic Ecovacs didn't. The tape works really well if you want to stop it going into a room or area.
