Hi guys. Sincere apologies but we've just been asked by BWS to pause all activity due to issues they're having at checkout. We've just activated this popup on our store page, and below is the affiliate email to all rewards partners. We'll have the store back up as soon as they allow us. Thanks as always…

We have hit some major technical issue at BWS today which has derailed the purchase process online.

We are in touch with the client as I write this e-mail to understand the ETA on when would the issue be fixed but unfortunately for now we will need to pause any affiliate activity until the e-comm site is up and running again.

Apologies but could you please keep the brand offline until this is resolved?

      thanks for the update

    • I was about to purchase when I realised the Cashrewards discount was deactivated during checkout … lucky I checked

      • +1

You wouldn't have been able to checkout anyway.

    • How do you get a comment pinned?

      • Report the comment to moderators to have it pinned, and they can pin it at their discretion.

        • The report needs to be from another member, not the commenter, right?

BWS appears to be back online, error message on the page now states only that rewards points cannot be redeemed, and I can get through to checkout and select a store without the error it was previously giving as well.

Any ETA on when this will be reinstated?

      • yes, I am hoping to do click and collect before I leave work today lol.

  • Yay bws :)

If you have a Westpac credit card, make sure to check your Rewards & Offers section to see if you have been targeted with a $10 cashback offer for when you spend $50 or more in a single online transaction at BWS.

    • Not debit card? I closed my account with Westpac yesterday

      • +1

        Not debit card.

I double-checked the BWS Online cashback offer, and it clearly stipulates I need to use my Westpac credit card as the payment method.

I had only a Westpac debit card for years before getting a Westpac credit card, and before I got a Westpac credit card, I would only see generic and (usually) lousy offers under the Rewards & Offers section (e.g. Medibank Pet Insurance offers, Klook offers, Naked Wine offers, access to JB Hi-Fi Solutions).

Once I opened a Westpac credit card, I started getting more interesting offers (e.g. spend $60 at JB Hi-Fi and get $10 cashback, spend $50 at First Choice Liquor and get $10 cashback). However, these more interesting offers stipulated in the fine print that I had to use my Westpac credit card in order to get the cashback.

If you were wondering why I bolded credit card in my original comment, it is because an OzBargainer recently said that Westpac cashback offers are also available on debit cards (which is not necessarily true). Sure, Westpac debit cards will also be targeted with offers too, but I never saw an “interesting” cashback offer until I opened a Westpac credit card.

Westpac just isn’t as generous with debit card holders in regards to cashback offers when compared with Commonwealth Bank.

damn, nothing, but I have never seen one for BWS, just First Choice a few times

  • +1

Hoping for some liquorland or First choice liquor to stack with the amex deals

  • Thanks Clear & Arse, will definitely be buying some grog.

  • +1

    Wish champagne wasn't excluded

    • +1

Would "Champagne" only be referring to 'French Champagne' ?

      • +5

There is no other "Champagne" other than from France :-)

      order Whispers sparkling wine

      • Whispers is Coles-aligned brand.

        • Oh you're right, I can't remember the name of Coles version cheap sparkling wine

      • Gossips (hence Whispers)

  • +16

    $132 (incl GST) optimum spend.

Does anyone know a simple way to check clearance stock at all stores in one state as opposed to changing the store individually?

  • Good thing I didn't take advantage of the First Choice 10% off today!

    • +2

Is there anything at BWS that would be cheaper at 75% price then First Choice at 90%?

      • +1

Coopers beer which is a similar price most places in SA.

      • Best to check both websites for the drink you're after but the BWS specials are usually a good bet.

  • +1

of course my 1200 Everyday Rewards points on $100 spend on beer has just expired…..

      Liver let live

      • hehe! I see what you did there!

  • Expiry: 21 Sep–22 Sep 11:59pm

Running for two days, apparently 🤷‍♂️

    • I started on the booze early my bad.

Bought something 4 months ago from BWS, cash back had a 4 month wait period. After 4 months received a generic message that they have cancelled my cash back because of 3-4 generic reasons. It wasn’t even a good deal since BWS prices are pretty high normally so I learned a lesson.

    • +2

      Been there with Shopback!

      • The worst thing is that BWS doesn’t even sends a message/email when the order is collected so you can’t prove anything.

        • You can. You have an invoice within your account and payment proof via Bank. I have had a couple fail but fought it out of principle and they paid out. I met my side of the deal so they are obligated to meet theirs.

  • +2

Coopers Pale is $4 more expensive than LL/FC and my local BWS doesn't have cans - only bottles.

    Not great BWS. Not great

    • +1

And some LL/FC have the 440ml cans cheaper then the 375ml cans.

  • Purchases via the BWS mobile app not elegible? And online through the website?

    • Check Cashrewards website, they should have some instructions or a tutorial how to use it.

    • Use the CR app and it'll open a webpage inside

  • Any other deals mentioned for tomorrow?

  • Damn just checked cash rewards today and nothing advertised. Already bought beer!

  • What about in-store payments?

  • Cheers OP. 2 purchases, both tracked in 10 minutes.

  • Gah! Hate how CR in safari opens the bws app by default. Oh well, it was only the Raspberry Berliner Weisse Bier hack.

Anybody know how I stop cr opening other apps in iOS?

    • Use the CR app as it has its own native browser built in.

  • Price jacking by BWS.
Asahi 24x500ml was $77 last night, but $82 this morning.

  • +1

“Up to 110 days” estimated approval is ridiculous. Not going to bother.

    • +2

How about revoking your upvote so it's not misleading and your stance is less contradicting.

  • +5

The site isn't allowing checkout, they have the following message up when you first visit.
Due to technical difficulties, delivery and pick up is not available. The team are working to get this resolved asap. Please visit your local store or check back later.

    • I’m also having the same problem. The BWS cashrewards page also shows no current offers. Spoke to BWS over the phone and they’ve put a stop to online order pickups temporarily

      • CR site/app showing no current deals despite the banner still up. Must be having issues

    • +2

BWS put a halt on online orders due to this deal:
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/725947

I imagine they will resume once they figured out what caused the glitch and prevent it from happening again.

  • I thought i was going nuts by not seeing it. Also, some sparkling wines weren’t on there despite saying eligible.. very weird. Hope it’s all sorted soon :)

  • i had a glitch where i bought 2 kraken and cola 4 packs the total price being $48 which my card was charged but the invoice says price paid $24 - so cashrewards only gave me $6 instead of $12

  • +1

    Likely to come back today?

    • Wondering this as well… need to stock up on soju :P

      • +1

        @xavierod @JHoliday @Miso @StarPlatinum

BWS is back up on Cashrewards. Happy shopping :)

        https://www.cashrewards.com.au/bws

        • Thank you, order placed.

What has peoples experiences been in terms of tracking times for BWS orders generally? ie. near instant like places like Pizza Hut, quick like Chemist Warehouse, same day or several days?

Also looks like BWS are still having technical issues with no Everyday Rewards points being awarded for orders currently. Hopefully these will follow in the days to come.

"Due to technical difficulties Reward points cannot be redeemed online currently. Everyday Reward points will be delayed in being applied to orders"

Shows 0 Everday rewards points on checkout for the order.

Edit: Tracking just came through :)

          • @Moo Deng: Thumbs Up.

Edit - Thats for Master Arse.

  • LOL @ BWS

  • damn it already ended?
