From my experience you can cross it totally off to book something on Expedia via Shopback. I’m still hunting a Cashback from half a year ago. I haven’t used a discount code and I followed all rules. It was upsized Cashback and I booked a week. You can only imagine that this was big $, and I was excited for this deal. Shopback response was that the seller is not responding. My next bookings I rather use discount codes (12% Amex or 10% Mastercard) than hunting an unobtainable Cashback.
That's unfortunate, just booked a hotel earlier so hopefully it goes smoothly.
If not can always keep an eye out for another booking.com boost, usually seems to be a safer bet on there.
I also have not been able to get cashback for these upsized deals through either shopback or cashrewards. I haven't done anything wrong and everything else i purchase from other suppliers tracks fine. Both cashrewards and shopback say they will follow it up but that i wont know the result until after the stay. As my stay is in june 2023 it is not worth fhe risk of missing out on such a large chunk of money for me. First i tried cashrewards with a wotif upsized cashback, didnt work, asked them to follow up and i got the above response. So i cancelled that booking and booked through shopback with an upsized cashback with one of the main hotel supliers. Same thing, never tracked. I really feel like this is suspect and that most peoples accommodation bookings wont track. I hope this isnt the case but good luck.
I believe someone mentioned another time that it's due to tracking the cookies in your browser. Safer doing through the app as usual but yeah always something to be mindful of.
On desktop you can just clear cookies and it should help.
I checked yesterday and there was a warning that people are not eligible for Cashback, if they choose the app over the browser. They must have changed it for this special.
Yeah it has two rates now, Hotels is 4.00% or something, but Hotels (via Expedia App) is 14.00% so must've been updated.
Always feels a bit iffy when you get taken to an external app, hopefully it still tracks!
@mangobango: Good luck!
anyone with issues for Klook? am thinking of booking the 3 day Gold Coast pass for Oct. 20% is good upsize
never had any issues with Klook in the past. just booked the 3 day GC pass for the next holiday
thanks mate, making the booking myself too now
Any ideas how long Klook tracking usually takes to come through?
Mine took exactly 53 minutes
Just booked $400 worth of tickets 1hr ago. Hasn't tracked yet.
Update: mine tracked in 2hrs. All 3 klook orders are tracked.
@mkkuo: Thanks tracking came through after a couple of hours :)
Please tell me gift cards weren’t included. I just purchased a $150 before this offer started.
Are JR rail passes and theme parks included for the 20% cashback with Klook?
In the notes it's mentioned "Theme Parks and JR Passes are classified as Special Activities" however there is nothing saying that Special Activities are included or excluded and there is no other rate shown for Special Activities.
Klook usually has separate tiers for cashback, but now they're doing a flat 20% promo.
Sigh just missed out. Will they have another klook upsize cashback?
My Expedia tracked at a lower rate (I did click through to app). I think it said it may initially show lower rate and fix up though. Everyone else have a lower rate tracked so far?
Yep same here, assume it'll fix itself but either way, @gotyourback could you please advise on this?
Hey all, I do know that a lot of the travel merchants will adjust their CB amounts after it initially tracks, but let me reach out to the team to see if I can get some specific info for you on this. Will update ASAP!
Many thanks! Appreciate the prompt action :)
Will wait to hear back.
@mangobango: No worries! So our team are aware of this, they've asked if I can grab some example cases so that they can have a proper look at it to make sure everything's all good. @mangobango and @VehemenceThePhoenix, would you mind sending me a DM with your Expedia order ID + your ShopBack email address? Would be much appreciated, I'll make sure they are seen to with urgency.
@gotyourback: Thanks, I have sent a PM.
Just cross check the price of hotels on Expedia without clicking from SB first. I have noticed many property prices increasing by the cashback % when the user is referred by SB to an OTA like Expedia, Booking & Agoda.
