As a person with Chinese heritage but born in QLD and able to understand the Bogan language I can confirm this is true if you are superstitious

Im buying 2 so the luck never runs out.

  • Is this the cheapest OLED has ben?

    • I got the Neon OLED from BigW eBay for $422 yesterday - both the neon and the white were that price.

    • No, around $420. Cheapest the Splatoon 3 one has been though!

  • 412.92 if you get 7 percent back on cash rewards.

    • Cashback through Cashrewards or Shopback doesn't apply for videogames and consoles category unfortunately :(

      • Damn - didn't see that!

  • Time to put my credit card points to use and redeem some Amazon gift cards with them. It's finally down to a somewhat decent price if I add in extra 10% savings.

Might finally get around to hacking my OG v1 Switch too. Looking forward to battery and screen improvements. Just hoping accessories will fit… Fingers crossed

    • Can just order a HWFLY chip off ali express for OLEDs now. If you are or know someone who's pretty handy with a soldering iron.

      • Interesting, didn't know it's a thing, but the 100+ AUD price tag and lack of stock definitely wouldn't make it my primary choice lol

  • My daughter is hoping to get a Switch for Xmas - would you recommend buying this in advance or is there likely to be a better option nearer the time? I doubt the colour/edition is overly important to her and as for games, she is interested in Minecraft etc and stuff she can play online with her friends.
Presumably, any bundles that come out between now and then will be with newer games, such as FIFA 23.
    Thanks

Hasn't FIFA on Switch been a (relatively) bad version, as it's cut down to actually work on it?

Anyway, there's a huge chance there are going to be better deals before Christmas. Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas deals in general.

      • Okay thanks, I'll hold off then.

  • This or XBX or PS5. Users are a 5 yr old and an 8 yr old

For that age group this….. game is not included,

      • +1

I assume better gaming selection with nintendo for those age groups and not so much for the grown ups

    • This. A no-brainer for that age.

      Or even better - a second-hand Switch.

      Series s plus game pass

      • Any specific reason for recommending xb-s?

        • It's just a decent game pass box for cheap, which for a kid, they're probably not going to notice that the series S isn't hitting 4K res or anything like that, and the breadth of game pass titles on Xbox these days will keep any kid satiated for a long while.

Granted if you can afford the Series X, maybe you want to give your kids the latest and greatest, or if you're wanting to buy physical disc games for your kids in the future, the Series X is a perfectly fine option as well.

  • How much do the games cost - on average?
