  • Do they have the neon by any chance - I reckon my kids will get the white one dirty with their grubby little mitts.

    • +2

      Neon hasn’t been discounted
Maybe keep an eye on the listing in case they do decide to price match it
      Link

      • Thank you, will do!

        • +2

Also keep an eye out on the splatoon one. If this one gets price matched I would be tempted to buy

        • +4

          Neon is discounted now.

          • @Miss B: WooHoo thank you! Grabbed one for kid's Christmas pressie 👍

          • @Miss B: That’s good. C’mon Big W, discount the Splatoon one

  • +4

Better off spending a little more and getting the Splatoon one on sale.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/724840

The resale value will also be higher if you decide to sell it.

    • +1

Fingers crossed Big W decides to price match the Splatoon Edition

    • +2

Yeah, I chose the Splatoon one myself actually!

However for people who don't care for the Splatoon colour scheme and/or don't care about resale (they're going to use it til it dies or gets lost for example) then this is another option.

You can add a $55+ item to get the order over $500 and use code SNSSEPT to get $50 off.
Something like Mario Odyssey for $59 would work.
Total would be $454 for Switch and game.

    • +1

Thankyou, I did this with Switch Sports for 461.90 Delivered. I was a bit bummed I couldn't work out any way to change it to Click n Collect though.

    • weird, mine says it can only apply one voucher, am I doing something wrong?

      • Yeah, you can’t use both codes.

  • +2

i rather buy v1 unpatched for $500 and play mostly on tv…..

    • -1

      True

      • very true

        • out of interest, can you give me a rundown of what v1 unpatched does vs v2 or v1 patched? not across it but in the market in near future

          • +3

@leeroys_dad: Basically an unpatched v1 has a hardware exploit which allows you to install unofficial apps. Some include dumping game cartridges and installing as a digital copy, stream from PC to Switch, overclock CPU/GPU for better performance, use the Switch in TV mode undocked, unofficial game ports, etc

            • +1

              @FireRunner: thanks!

              • @leeroys_dad: and one more what make them special - those unpatched will be impossible to patch by nintendo or even god.
its the hardware flaws so thats why nintendo forced to change the hardware on the next production batch, named v1 patched, or v2, lite and then oled

            • @FireRunner: I had a good run with the WiiU moded but after some research on the Switch for my kid, I think Nintendo has put up enough disincentives for me; so I decided to go totally legit as the preowned market for Switch games is decent enough. To not be banned online is important for my kid to play with her friends.

            • @FireRunner: How do you tell if yours is v1 or v2?

              • +1

@t3t5ujin: @t3t5ujin just google is my switch hackable or something like that and you'll see…

          • @leeroys_dad: plus playing emulators of older system like sega, nes, gameboy etc

    • Can you buy one new? If so where?

      • If there are any new v1 consoles still around then you’ll be paying a lot more than $500 for one

        • +1

I have one. Unfortunately, it's locked out of the online store :(

          • @4ksandknives: Haha, same. Got it real cheap because the previous owner got it network banned.
I have to use another switch to download game updates then use the “match software with local users” feature to get the updates on the banned console

    • I have a launch Switch and just bought a OLED Switch for handheld use. Should i follow a guide on YouTube or is there a site like the 3DS guide that i should use?

      • +2

yes there is. just google it. even just simple switch guide will get you some interesting result which you know what are they if you done your 3ds in the past
just incase we cant talk that stuffs here

    • Want to buy mine?

    • I see ads trying to get that price, but do people actually pay? A quick FB Marketplace search pulls up a couple listings $300-350.

      • +1

I sold mine V1 system for a bit over $400 on Gumtree. Cost neutral upgrade to an OLED

        • wow you must be some expert in soldering etc etc
          can you mod the oled?

          • +2

@CyberMurning: haha. No - I meant the sale of my V1 completely funded my purchase of an OLED Switch :)

      • I sold just the main body (no joycon, no dock, no cables etc) for $300.

        • what happen with its joycon dock cable? saw one seller on gumtree like that as well. make me wonder.
oh maybe you just keep them as spare of your other switch?

    • I bought one from a pawn shop for $240 with all normal accessories- they were selling it for $300, but had 20% off storewide. Hadn't checked before today because I don't actually care.

      • lucky you! i may get into all pawn shop to check the serials!

        • I was doing this with online Cash Converters, it’s annoying how few ads have a good shot of the serial number or even the back to eliminate v2 models. The other option is EB, there were lots of people trading in their day 1 Switch for OLED with the increased trade in price.

    • +8

Rewards Extra code doesn't appear to work… maybe not on consoles?

      • +1

Yeah I didn't work for me either.

    • +2

Everyday Rewards Extra Discount and subscription benefits exclude [big long list], gaming consoles, etc

    • +1

Just looked at terms and conditions, the 10% excludes gaming consoles so the code doesn't work for this one

    • Everyday extra discount worked but only took $25 off when I purchased for a total of $500 including mario kart 8

Also with 3x points from having everyday extra and the 7x points deal in rewards app until 25th September gave me over 4000 points ($20)

Worked out to $479 with Mario Kart 8 included ($59)
plus $20 in credit with the points.

  • Such a great price, but the Pokemon Oled looks damn good. Decisions decisions.

  • Just in time for the upcoming 10% discout on eshop cards at JB.

    • Source? Discounted eshop cards have been pretty scarce this year and I need to recharge my wallet soon for NSO soon.

  • Wait for pokemon OLED for $399 in time for BF (cheaper with Gift cards, cashback, bonus, etc). Not worth buying at this price
$350 is the price point to bite at (after CB, GC and bonus).

    • +1

What’s BF? What bonus can you get?

      • +1

        Black Friday

        • Chances of Pokémon edition going on special for BF?

  • Target has just reduced the Splatoon model to $445.

  • These are back in stock , if anyone was looking.
