Sorry also just hijacking your comment to post a review of this from someone who seems to know what they are taking about:

Summary is, it’s not great. Get the 120w (not yet in Aus unfortunately)

      • +2

thanks for this, I will wait til we have access to the better GAN chargers

      • +2

Great channel. Need more like it.

  • +1

Why can't we get their 100w ones :(

just $50 after discount? not good?
but why the title is 100w while descriptions is all about 65w

      • +20

Third Option from drop down is '100W Black' but greyed out.

You'll find a lot of store on eBay abusing the drop-down menu (either to hit keywords or appear cheaper in search).

        • +8

This shits me to no end especially when searching anything with varying capacities like hard drives and thumb drives/nand flash.

          • +4

@ProlapsedHeinous: Or phone/tablet cases… No I don't care that your screen protector only costs $1 when your case is $30!

      • I guess name brand vs recently becoming trustworthy but still patchy brand. But they are suppose to be good, reliability is a bit of a question mark as I understand.

Also Anker’s is pretty sure an OG design, the other is a OEM part slapped with a branded housing.

      • Not PPS (better for the battery) - the reason it's cheaper

        • +1

          PPS?

        • +2

          What's PPS?

      • I want their as in Anker 100w as have had some mixed experiences with Baseus

    • AU is a small market for them, apparently but i will wait for 150W one.

  • +1

Are you able to switch out the plug type (e.g.: for an EU plug) for travel?

    • +3

no, go for other chargers that have interchangable heads.

  • sorry dumb question, will i damage my phone if i connect it to the usb c port on the top (65w) ?

    • +1

      No

    • No every phone has power delivery system built in so you are good to go as long as you are using good quality charger.

    • The phone only "grabs" what it needs, probably 5v and "xx" amps.. (depending on the phone).

This is the case for all USB-C chargers, if they conform to the standard.

There are such thing as fake/clone USB-C chargers that don't conform to the standard, in which case it could possibly damage a phone.

    • +1

No, with PD chargers and devices they negotiate the highest level of charging; which is why a phone these days can do standard, fast and super charging.

      • or Super Fast 2.0 on Galaxy with 45W charger

  • -4
    • +1

      No it’s not. Different chargers.

    • +17

      Anker >>>> Heymix

QC and General reviews are heaps better, plus less reports of random explosions with Anker

      • Is Anker also considered to be better than Baseus?

        • +2

          Yes

        • Yup!

        • I got the Baseus 100W charger, its built incredibly well.

Been using it for a week and loving it so far. 2x USB C and 2x USB A

          • @GallBall2606: Would you be able to share a link for the 100w baseus. Used fair few products from baseus and seems to be working pretty well. Looking for either a 65 w or 100w pd charger, more the merrier.

      • probably all the same factory in shenzen or somewhere

      • +3

        Just no

  • I have one and it charges my Macbook Air and 2 iPhones easily. Paid $80 though, RIP

    • Does it get very hot when they are both low on charger and you are using them while charging?

  • +2

Looks good, but I'm hanging out for the Baseus 100W to come back on sale like it was a few days ago … has some good reviews.

    • +1

You don't need to hang out, get it now for $72.15 / $70.35 (eBay Plus)

      • thats 65w

        • On the drop-down list, select Black 100W.

          • @O O: Thanks, although price for me shows $90 for the 100W

            • @zaqwsx3: There are SVE20 and PLSAV22 coupon you can use to bring the price down.

      • Cheers! I was annoyed at missing out on that deal too, but this is even better.

        • But it has a caveat, a longer shipment time.

  • -3

It's not USB Power Delivery spec compliant

    • -1

      Pps is not pd+, correct.

    • The USB Power Delivery specification revision 3.0 defines an optional Programmable Power Supply (PPS) protocol that allows granular control over VBUS power, allowing a range of 3.3 to 21 V in 20 mV steps to facilitate constant-current or constant-voltage charging. Revision 3.0 also adds extended configuration messages and fast role swap and deprecates the BFSK protocol

Strange to see people comparing it with Baseus and Heymix. Will buy Anker any day, without giving a thoought. Not a single product from them has ever let me down.
Thr 30w charger is able to charge my laptop with a 5meter long cable, whereas Zendure 100W refused for the same.

  • I bought this charger last deal. After using it for a couple of weeks, I realised it stops charging devices once the battery reaches 100% which is so cool.

    • How come it charged the device when you were using it ?

      • I barely charge while using. I reckon it would work as other chargers, keep charging until 100%

    • Isn't that how all chargers work?

      • Not really, once the battery reaches 100%, the charger will stop the current to the devices and the devices don't show the charging icon. Other chargers still keep charging or show the charging icon.

        • What happens with other chargers?

  • +1

    Nowadays chargers are so expensive
New technology, compact size, should get cheaper

    • Yeah I think the same.

    • It should but them companies are no charity. They are in the business to make money. Just like people rejecting the idea that last gen iphones should drastically drop in price once new one is released. Those looking to resell dont want that. Its not in their best interest.

      • to me, this is too much money to pay for a charger. I'm ok to continue using original charger that came with my phone and laptop,

        • I would too if only my phone came with a charger.

*shakes fist at apple and samsung.

          • @xoom: You're right, Apple actually gave birth to chargers industry. Just like how smartphones lifted up Power bank industry 10-15yrs ago

            • @DarthLord: Did not buy into the we are doing it for the environment speil that apple is claiming.

    • Your old chargers are 10w, maybe 15w. You can still buy them. You get what you pay for.

      • That's true for phone chargers. My laptop USB C charger is 65W

If you do a teardown on such Gan charger, you'll see how minimal count of sub components inside. So, I don't see why such chargers command a high price.

Profit margin is really high for such product

        • -2

An Iphone 14 is tiny, and 80% of it is battery. Guess it should be $20 then.

          • @[Deactivated]: iPhone has alot more tiny components

Touchscreen, Cameras, radar, mic, speakers, CPU, RAM, modem etc etc
Besides that, there's also programming on the software and Apple supports their products for 5yrs update…

Definitely not $20, hope it makes sense for you

Not sure how you can bring Iphone14 to compare with a charger, mind to share your thoughts?

            • @DarthLord: Nah. They aren't that big. I don't see why they'd command a high price.

  • I prefer the smaller Anker Nano II 65w which has just the single USB-C port on it. I managed to find another ebay seller who had that one and also had the 20% code taking it down to $73.95. Not an amazing deal but better than retail.

    • +2

Why 1 port? Shouldn't having 3 ports be better?
      Thanks

      • Main thing is the smaller size, say I’m using this to charge my laptop and I can use the USB port on my computer to charge my phones etc

        • I have an Apple 140W GaN charge in the cupboard, partly because of its size, but mainly because it has only 1 port. My Macbook's USB-C ports give weird charging results - it took 3-4 hours to charge my phone, and my phone's battery becomes flat within about half amount of usage time (compared to when it's charged using wall chargers)

    • Link please?

  • How does this compare to Zyron? Is it worth paying the extra $10 premium?

    • Yes

    • +2

Absolutely. My zyron Gan 3 charger died after 2 days. They swapped it over and then it died after 2 months. By then, they didn't want to know me as I've received no response for a warranty claim thereafter 😮‍💨

    • +1

absolutely. Zyron is rebadged Heymix effectively.

  • +1

    Thanks OP. Got one 🙂

  • i'm buying the heymix or choetech equivalent for under $30 bucks, why does this anker get so many upvotes?

    • +3

Brand recognition and less reports of kaboom?

      • -1

        any evidence of kaboom?

          • Read the reviews
          • Look at the average rating
          • Look at feedback from Ozbargain users in Heymix posts
        • +1

personally have had choetech pop on me and have had a heymix pop and catch fire under the desk of a guy sitting next to me at work… that was fun lol

          • @quikstix: ok, thanks, i wont use the heymix and choetech at home then and just at work
bought an anker for home use

  • Dumb question, but am I able to charge a laptop (macbook or dell via USB C) plus another device like an iPhone at the same time?

    • +1

Yep. Just note the wattage change when connecting multiple devices. There's a charging guide in the long description of the link advising what the wattages are during different scenarios

  • Considering the Macbook Pro charger is 140W (https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT212755) I found this charger less appealing.
Normally, you can use the USB-C monitor to charge the laptop. While travelling, using the stock charger is better

    • It does depend on the required wattage for the device(s) that you're using.

If you're using a 16" MBP that came with that charger, you'd also be fine with a ~100W charger when traveling. The 140W charger + MagSafe cable are added bulk which would mainly enable fast charging.

Current USB-C charging maxes out at 100W and depending on the monitor you're using it would likely be supplying 65-90W.

  • -1

fwiw, I've got this one and it has been faultless:
    https://www.ravpower.com/products/rp-pc136-pd-pioneer-65w-4-…
I've had all 4 ports in use before, charging is obviously slower, but it still works.

  • +2

Its showing $8.50 delivery with ebay plus for me. :(

    • Me too. Did we miss something?

  • Wondering if I can use something like this to charge the laptop - Dell Latitude 7400. Going to need a new adapter for a DJI Mini 3 Pro, so looking to get something that does the laptop, drone and 2 mobile (not at the same time) with travel adapters. Maybe something like this: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0B7L7CWMR
