    • Hey @Fastjam

Perfect timing! Glad to be of service 😌

Reach out if you need anything from me!

      -Aidan

  • Thanks rep. How fast is delivery? Family member is leaving for overseas Friday, will express delivery to Sydney metro arrive in time if ordered Monday? I note you have same day dispatch for orders before midday, just want to make sure it gets here!

    • +1

      Hey @Jesus Chicken

Order as express, and it will get sent out today and be with you before Friday this week easily.

Let me know if you have any further questions :)

  • Bummer, the South America one doesn't cover Argentina, do you have any Sim or esim for Argentina? Travelling soon for a month and I'm looking for 30 days data! Thx

    • Hey @Bredo

The only SIM we have for Argentina is this one Tourist Global SIM 15 Days

It would honestly be better for you to get something locally. Keep an eye on us for eSIMs though, we will have them in the coming months.

      -Aidan

  • Why is the sim card for Japan so expensive? Amazon Japan sells 10GB data valid for 180 days for around $25rrp and you can pick it up from a convenience store at the airport

    • Hey @lunartemis

It depends on our supplier. Some SIM Cards we can get for a good price, some not.

As an alternative you can go with our SEA SIM Card 10GB 30 Days (It works in Japan)

Let me know if you have any further questions!

      -Aidan

  • Any esim deals for Europe?

    • +1

      Hi @rabbikhan

      Coming soon, watch this space!

      -Aidan

  • Hi @SimsDirect, how long are the SIMs valid for before activation? I have a trip in Feburary - can I buy now and activate it then? Or do I have to buy it closer to the date

    • Hey @XJX

You can buy them as early as you like. The SIM will not activate until the nominated activation date (and the SIM is put in your device).

Let me know if you have any more questions :)

      -Aidan

  • I'm travelling to Europe in December. Can I buy it now and activate it later?

    • +1

      Hey @notewar

Yes, you can! Just out down the date you want it to work (when you land overseas).

Let me know if you have any further questions 👍

  • Hey Aidan

Is it possible to get the USA number prior to flying out?
I'm interested to forward all my calls from the current Australian number to the new US number prior to leaving Australia as I won't be able to do this once I'm in the US.

    • +1

      Hey @deveshwar0

You will need to read each SIMs product information carefully. You can also read our online guides for further information.

For all the Ultramobile SIMs listed above, it is possible to get your number prior to leaving by registering the SIM online with Ultramobile.

Here is the SIM I am talking about (there is also a 15GB option and unlimited option)
Here is the guide on how to get your number early

Let me know if there is anything else I can help with :)

      -Aidan

      • Thanks Aidan
A further question, I currently have 3 phones and they're all coming up as incompatible.
I have OPPO Reno Z, OPPO Reno 5G and OPPO find X2 lite.
Why would this be the case?

        • +1

          Hey @deveshwar0

Those are Chinese-made devices, most issues using non-US devices in the US come down to the 'network bands' supported by the telco and the network bands supported by the device. If the device doesn't support the network bands the telco puts out, you will get no signal.

However, sometimes these device checkers can be outdated and incorrect. If you want to go deeper, research your network bands and the carrier bands to see if your device will work.

          Good luck!

          -Aidan

          • @SimsDirect: Hey mate
Just got back from our US trip and am a bit disappointed on how things went.
We had 2 Sims, one with 6 GB and one with unlimited data.
Data worked fine on both Sims but No one could call us on our US numbers.
I had arranged for my Australian numbers to be forwarded to the US numbers as well so we couldn't even be contacted on our Australian numbers as well.
I reached out to support multiple times and tried all the usual steps of resetting everything, restarting and even changing phones to no avail.
It came to a point that I just gave up as it was eating too much into my vacation time.
Just wanted to provide some feedback now that we are back.

  • How’s coverage in Houston? And if I was to need to use it in November would buying it now work for the ?

    • Hey @gungirlyuna

The coverage should be great in Houston. If you want to be double sure, go to AT&T and T-mobile's websites and use their coverage checker to see which provider has better coverage in Houston.

You can purchase the SIM now and use it whenever you'd like to in the future, the activation date you select when checking out is when the SIM will activate for use.

Let me know if you have any further questions :)

      -Aidan

  • Nice. Going to Japan again in December. Will get one.

    • Hey @clover

Epic! Welcome to the SimmyD fam!

Reach out if you need anything from me :)

      -Aidan

  • Hey Aidan, I'm going to Canada then Brazil, total of 60 days. Is the Explorer 365 the best one to get me covered in both countries?

    • Hey @asdfasdfasdfasdf

The Explorer SIM does not work in Canada unfortunately.

You will likely need 2 separate SIM cards:

      South America 12GB 30 Days
USA, Canada, Mexico 15GB 30 Days

There are some cheaper options for Canada if you feel like you don't need much data also.

Let me know if you have any further questions :)

      -Aidan

  • Aidan, what’s the best option for Morocco and Germany? Or will I need to get two separate cards and switch when we switch countries?

    • Hey @debmayne

We do not have anything that works in Morocco, unfortunately.

Germany is covered by all our Europe SIMs listed above. The only option for you will be to grab an EU SIM from us and get something local in Morocco when you land and swap them over as you need to.

Let me know if you have any further questions :)

      -Aidan

  • What are the expiry on south east asia sims?

    • 31/12/2023 ;)

  • Hey Aidan. I am going to Europe in a couple weeks and need 2 sim cards. I see another website has 30% off travel sim cards. Do you price match and beat?

    • As a matter of interest, which website has 30% off?

      • +1

        The website is Simcorner

    • +1

      Hey @Santoser30

We do not offer a price match on our competitors.

They have a history of putting up their 30% discount after we announce our deal to compete on price. It's up to you to decide on whether you would like to buy from them or join the SimsDirect family 😉

Let me know if you have any further questions.

      -Aidan

      • Okay thank you for confirming

  • I'm travelling on Monday.
Would the standard post make it to Melbourne before Monday, 12 SEP 2022?

    • Hey @royale

If you order with express shipping, the SIM will be with you in time before Monday the 12th.

Let me know if you need anything else from me :)

      -Aidan

  • Upvoted. Hi simdirect I ordered from you on Friday (74059). Any chance you could retrospectively apply this discount?

I've been a long term customer, I even had Sims I ordered and could not use during the pandemic when it started

    • Hey @SenatorDC

Message the team on live chat or email and we'll get it sorted for you!

      Anything for our OG's 👊

      -Aidan

  • Great timing. Off to NZ for the school holidays next weekend. :)

What timeframe do the SIMs need to be activated in ?

Can I use on of these in a dedicate wifi hotspot (after activating in a phone if required) ?

    • Hey @drsmithy!

Glad to hear! Have a great trip!

They can be held onto as long as you need.

Yes, they work in wifi devices.

Let me know if there is anything else I can help with :)

      -Aidan

  • Used these guys in July throughout eastern Europe. Generally really happy, a couple notes though

Had two going, one activated immediately on landing, one took a few hours. Not sure what happened there. Took a little while for 3 UK to add the data pack too but came good eventually.

Went to recharge as I ran out of data, but found out 3uk don't let you when you're roaming away from the UK, as you've already used your 'complimentary roaming quota'. This is described on the simdirect page so no stress but I missed it, so just highlighting here. Buy two if you think you'll need it.

    • Thanks for the support and feedback @heineken016!

  • Anyone have any input on the best provider to go for for a trip to Hawaii? Never been to the USA before so have no experience with the different telcos.

    • Hey @Crispr

Both AT&T and T-mobile work in Hawaii, we've had lots of customers using our T-mobile SIMs in Hawaii with positive reviews.

You can go to the products, scroll down to reviews and search for the word Hawaii if you'd like to see reviews of people and their experience with using the SIMs in Hawaii.

      Hope that helps!

      -Aidan

  • I'm heading to Turkey, which network does the sim for middle East connect to?

    • Hey @phynicle

The SIM will roam onto the Vodafone network. You will also be able to switch providers manually in your phone's network settings.

      Hope that helps!

      -Aidan

  • What provider would these sims use across Europe? Would it be a mix of Vodafone and Orange? Im concerned about being with the providers that have the best coverage.

Sorry I’m not familiar with European teleco operators and I know that Telstra and Optus have the best coverage in Australia.

    • Hey @JeremyDealFiend

The SIM will use various providers as you go from country to country. Each country will have different local providers. You can manually change between these providers if you'd like to find the best coverage as you go.

      Hope this helps!

      -Aidan

  • On the table in the deal it says the USA, Canada, Mexico 30 Day Travel SIM (AT&T) 15GB SIM is 5G+4G, but when you follow the link it says 15GB of 4G data. Is it both, or 4G only?

    • Hey @tombarbera

It will have both (as long as you have a 5G device), I'll go ahead and fix the product page.

      Thanks for pointing that out!

      -Aidan

  • dear OP, when do I need to activate the SIM. Planing for Xmas trip now.

    • Hey @xiaozaocha

You need to put the date of when you land in that country.

You can place your order now and hold onto the SIM until that date, you can also message us if you need to change the date after you placed your order.

      -Aidan

      • that's very thoughtful of you guys. will order them later today

        • No worries!

In Bali they need an IME and your phone.
WOuld getting the bali sim mean I can just turn on t he phone and it works in bali?
    HEading there October

    • Hey @gnuh

The SEA SIM bypasses this (because it is a China Unicom SIM that roams onto local networks).

So you can just insert it, and off you go.

Let me know if you have any further questions :)

      -Aidan

      • thanks Aidan bought the Indonesia SIM
hope this is the one I needed. Please let me know thanks for the quick reply

        • Hey @gnuh

Yep the Indonesia SIM and SEA SIM are the same product :)

          -Aidan

  • It really is a shame that the 3UK SIM offer by you guys doesn't support recharging. I just ended up getting a SIM for 99p from Tesco with two £10 recharges that give 16GB/mo

    • Hey @mopo

Yeah, it is a little unfortunate, there are ways to top it up (by buying recharge vouchers in the Uk from ThreeUK). But no way for us to offer the recharge.

I'm glad you were able to find something that works for you though!

      -Aidan

  • What network does the SIM card use in the Philippines?

    • +1

      Hey @garffi

      Thanks for the upvote!

The SEA SIM uses Globe and PLDT (you can swap between them if needed in your mobile phones network settings).

Let me know if you have any further questions :)

      -Aidan

  • Just in time for my trip to Greece this weekend :)

  • Looks like the UK/EU sim is movistar and the data is x4 promo
when does it ends? Can I use this on my December trip?

    • Hey @Lukkyz

The 40, 80 and 140GB SIMs all are from Movistar. Our SIMs are pre-loaded with bundles on them, so they shouldn't be impacted by any changes to Movistar's promotions.

The promo has also been running for over 12 months now also and I think you should be sweet by December!

Hope this gives you some confidence!

      -Aidan

  • Currently in Hawaii using one of these USA sims. Activation was simple and have been getting good data coverage and speed, but been having issues logging into the telecom provider app (Ultra Mobile) so difficult to keep a close eye on real time data usage. Also not receiving SMS messages until hours after the fact - big issue with so many apps requiring SMS activation prior to use and no way around it.

    • Hey @WJD21

Thanks for sharing your experience. Send a message to the team, and we can take a look into the issues you are having and try get it sorted for you :)

An alternate way to keep up with your data usage is by texting 'DATA' to 6700.

      -Aidan

  • Thanks for the post. Just bought the 12GB Europe & UK Travel SIM Card.

Just FYI, when using MacOS, my Vivaldi browser wouldn't allow me to pick an Activation Date. I switched across to Safari but the Checkout page failed to load. Fortunately I was able to complete the whole process using Firefox.

    • Hey @EagleEye

Thanks for letting me know! We've had a few customers experience the same issue. We are looking into it.

Thanks for figuring it out and joining the SimmyD Family :)

      -Aidan

  • Thanks for this deal I have a question!

I’m interested in the 12gb europe 30 day sims. Are you able to advise the expiry time if I were to activate on 22 Jun 2023 at 8AM for example? Am unsure if the expiry is literally 30 x24 hrs (22 Jul 8AM) after that or whether that is day 1 and the plan will end at midnight on 21 Jul 2023.

My trip starts (land in EU) and ends (leave EU) on those dates, will be buying 2 Sims, just need to know if I need to stagger activations or not. No doubt airline will mess with schedule between now and then so good to know that I can contact you to adjust.

    • Hey @Poolprouk

Thanks for messaging in with your question.

The day the SIM has activated counts as day 1. It will end at midnight on 21 July.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any further questions :)

      -Aidan

      • Thanks Aidan. Bought 2 12GB ones. Used the same deal back in 2019 and it worked well (other than it took 90 mins or so to activate which made it hard to contact our Airbnb host, thankfully it activated when we were a few mins away from them). Hopefully quicker this time!

  • What’s the connection like in France

    • Hey @Sydney

A great way to check is to go to our 12GB Europe SIM Page, scroll down to reviews and search 'France'. All reviews with people mentioning France will be filtered and you can read other people's experiences with the SIM.

      Hope that helps!

      -Aidan

  • Looks like the Europe & UK (28 days, 71 countries, 12GB, $32) includes Singapore and a few other Asian countries. Would it activate in Singapore as I have a stopover there before arriving in Europe?

    • Hey @cairnsn

Yep the SIM works in Singapore (data -only), you can have the SIM activated on the day you land in Singapore and it will work :)

      -Aidan

  • Heading to the USA for 3 weeks with the family. I'd like to still have my current AU number ring but I'm looking for a large plan for data to be able to hotspot for a few family members. I'm assuming I could convert my current physical SIM plan to ESIM and then use a prepaid for just the data? Any recommendations?

    • Hey @pjfb

Yep, you can totally do that! If you have Dual SIM capability, both numbers will be able to ring through to you.

Double-check with your provider that your domestic number will still work overseas and there are no extra charges.

      Hope this helps!

      -Aidan

  • What network in thailand and singapore?

    • Hey @suchandr

      Singtel and AIS!

You can also switch providers in your mobile phone's network settings.

      -Aidan

  • Is there anything shorter for NZ? Wish i was going for 30 days but alas, only a week.

    • +1

      Hey @momoj

Thanks for the upvote friend :)

We do not have anything shorter unfortunately!

      -Aidan

  • what happens in the Asia sims if you use all the data? is it capped?

    • Hey @astarman

The SIM will throttle down to 128kbps after it has reached the 6GB data usage.

Let me know if you have any further questions :)

      -Aidan

  • Hello, I've seen others selling the EU/UK SIM from Three UK with 12 GB to use in Europe, but they mention that on 22 September that reverts to 8 GB.Is this the case for SIMs that you are selling?

    • +1

      Hey @Matt89

Our SIMs will not revert back to 8GB :)

  • Used you guys back before covid when going to Japan and was quite happy with it.

Just put in an order for 7 South East Asia 10gb Sims for my whole travel group at the end of the year, pretty good value at 30 bucks a pop imo.

Glad to see you guys are still around, keep at it!

    • Hey @supbah!!!

Good to see an OG :)

Glad to hear we've been able to help and so awesome to have you back again.

Reach out if you need anything at all!

Pls let us know if you have more deals coming soon?

  • FYI I could not purchase due to the paypal error. Note that now the sale is over that paypal is working perfectly. Sorry you missed my business, maybe next time

    • Hey @Bluntman!

No worries at all - message [email protected] and we'll be happy to honour the discount code :)

      I've let the team know!

  • Hi Aidan,
Any chances of getting a discount code from you. I just missed the deal.

  • Any chance of extending the sale? I saw the post earlier this week, was just about to buy this weekend and realise it's already over :(

    • I just booked a flight for my honeymoon yesterday and would benefit from this offer. Would also appreciate if OP would extend the sale a couple days :)

  • Very satisfied customer here!
I ordered a couple of Europe SIMs for my parents who are going travelling soon, the first set of SIMs disappeared into the AusPost darkess, SIMSDIRECT sent out another set without any trouble.
Will be using them next time for sure
    thanks SimsDirect!

  • Got the UK/Europe sim and worked ok in UK and didn't work once I got to Germany, was basically guessing what to do until I could find a shop to buy another sim.
So as a customer I'm pissed that I ended up paying way more, it's easier and safer to just but an international sim at the airport.
Tired everything from resetting the phone, changing settings, to trying to get in contact with O2 hotline. Useless, don't think the store rep will help much either.
