  • how is the coverage on Greek Islands - Santorini, Mykonos etc?

    • +1

      Hey @maverick1!

The coverage works well in Greek Islands, a good way to check would be to go to our reviews on the product page and search the location and see what other customers have to say ๐Ÿ‘

If the coverage isn't great you can always switch between the Greek Islands' local carriers through your phone's network settings.

      Hope this helps!

      -Aidan

      • Thanks. Ordered one!

        • Hey @maverick1

      • Hi I am hoping to buy Europe and Uk 140GB sim. But I will also need a compatible mobile modem. Can you please let me know if this

will this modem and your Sim above from Amazon work in Greece, Italy, France Spain and UK?

Or if you recommend please let me know

        • Hey @naru6705

The 140GB, 80GBand 40GB SIM does not work in wifi devices. It's for mobile devices only.

The only SIM that will work with a wifi device is the Explorer SIM

Let me know if you have any further questions.

          -Aidan

          • @SimsDirect: What network does the 140GB, 80GB and 40GB sim card connect to in Greece and Italy? Can the sim card be extended for another month?

            • @drewlyon8406: Hey @drewlyon8406

The SIM will use the WIND and Vodafone networks for both.

              -Aidan

              • @SimsDirect: Will the sim cards get 5G speeds? Also do you have a price match policy? Another company appears to have the 40GB sim card for $35?

    • +2

We used the 30 day 12 GB European one on the Greek Islands and it worked pretty well for Santorini and Mykonsos though parts of Milos were a bit patchy.

      • Thanks.

      • Thanks for your input @JR63!

  • I'm getting a paypal issue (There was an issue with PayPal. Try again or use a different payment method.) Are there any known issues, or is it just me?

    • +1

      Hey @frankymatty

I'll take a look and see if something is going on. I can see that other customers are getting through.

Try using a different browser and see if that works, otherwise, try using a credit card.

Let me know how you go!

      -Aidan

      • I'm getting the same Paypal issue as well (I tried both the Paypal express, as well as typing in address and onto the payment section and clicked paypal, same issue error pops up). I tried Chrome and Edge browsers.

Also in the OP states payment with Amex is fine, but in the payment section, there are only Visa and MC symbols, and after trying to put in Amex number it gives an error.

        • Hey @glumanda

Try switching to another device. Customers are placing orders as usual, so I am guessing it might just be a bug.

Let me know if you can't get it to work and I can try sort out something else for you.

          -Aidan

          • @SimsDirect: I played around with the order, and found out that when I bought 6 x US sims, Paypal had no problems, but adding in any of the NZ Travel sims gave the Paypal issue error. So I eventually made two separate orders, with the NZ one paid with Visa/MC option.

            • @glumanda: Hey @glumanda

Thanks for this info! I will pass it on to my developer to take a look!

              -Aidan

      • Had a similar problem with Firefox on iPhone and MacOS. Ended up using another payment method.

Also, the activation date selector didnโ€™t work on Firefox for MacOS (ended up using Chrome).

        • +1

          Thanks for all the info!

I've sent this through to our developer to take a look.

          • @SimsDirect: I get the same PayPal error "There was an issue with PayPal. Try again or use a different payment method."

            • @samthebear: Hey @samthebear

Are you trying to purchase a NZ SIM also?

              Let me know :)

              -Aidan

      • Same, on samsung s9 using google chrome

      • Also getting the same Paypal error - tried multiple browsers (trying to order New Zealand SIM)

        • same Paypal issue - same NZ SIM selected (well, the small one, at least) ;(

          • @Cheapkiwi: Hey @Cheapkiwi

We've been trying to replicate the problem on our end but can't seem to figure it out.

What we are going to have to do is wait until the sale is over and then try to reset PayPal. I will be happy to honour the deal after the sale ends with anyone who has experienced the PayPal issue.

Please email us at [email protected], and we can sort it out for you.

            Thanks for understanding!

            -Aidan

            • @SimsDirect: Hi Aiden
Thank you for the gesture, I hope this gets solved -I was able to get it to work through Chrome (was initially with Edge), no idea what the cause may have been though

  • Do you have any that works in Turkey?

    • +1

      Hey @ddhar

Our Middle East SIM covers Turkey.

Unfortunately, that is the only SIm we have that covers Turkey.

Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you :)

      -Aidan

      • Thanks, Aidan.

I need something for 21 days however. Also, the link to your Middle East SIM is not working.

        • Hey @ddhar,

Damn! It might be best to wait until you land and grab something locally.

Thanks for letting me know! I've gone ahead and fixed it :)

  • eSIM Support?

    • +2

      Hi @caliboy89,

The current SIMs listed in this deal are all physical SIM cards.

We are launching eSIMs within the next few weeks so do be sure to check them out!

Let me know if there is anything else I can help with :)

      -Aidan

      • Please post here when you launch esims!

        • Will do @Starcraftmazter!

    • +1

Just get Airalo. Cheaper and eSim

      • Curious what you're looking at where Airalo is cheaper?
Comparing to SimsDirect, although it's a physical sim SimsDirect is significantly cheaper.

I'd actually prefer an eSim but from what i've found they're more expensive across the board.

        • +1

Example I just bought (there's a lot of options): Asia for $20 USD ($20 something) 30 days 5gb. Works in every single location listed in this Asia section in 1 pack. This one is 15 days 6gb for $40

  • +4

    Great write-up, but

    United Kingdom/ USA/ Canada/ Australia/ New Zealand 10GB data-only eSIM $26 ($138 HKD) from 3 Hong Kong

Felix Mobile (free plan first month) $20 4GB/100mins/100 txt roaming

    • Hey @Techie4066

Thanks for pointing this out! I'll take a look at their products and see if we can get some onto our store for the future!

Let me know if there's anything I can help with!

      -Aidan

    • The 3 HK one looks pretty good - they also have 20GB for HKD198 (AUD37.20).

Do you have experience using them? Is it easy enough to get an eSIM or physical SIM from Australia? I'm travelling to NZ and then the USA soon, so this appeals.

    • I don't know why the Felix is comparable? It is 4GB vs 10GB, so you get additional 6GB for $6.

      • Includes calls and texts, keep your own number to use O/S. And for some countries it is better value than SimsDirect, like New Zealand.

      • +1

Felix is 4GB for $20, 365 days expiry

      • I should also note that this $20 7-day plan is way better value if you don't mind using an NZ number
        https://www.skinny.co.nz/pricing/plans/#combo_weekly

  • South East Asia 30 Day Travel SIM (13 countries incl Bali, Thailand)

What network will this use in South Korea?

    • Hey @CodeXD!

      SK Telecom :)

Let me know if you have any further questions!

      -Aidan

      • When will this deal expires?

        • Hey @CodeXD

This deal expires Wednesday at 11:59PM (7th).

          -Aidan

          • @SimsDirect: Thank you so much, just need a bit of time to compare other sims/prices/data!

            • @CodeXD: @CodeXD

              Sounds good ๐Ÿ‘Œ

  • Oh sigh… was waiting all month for this but it never came so I ended up buying 3x 30d Europe just last week

      Hey @silo!

Snap! Maybe send me a message on our live chat, and I'll see what I can do for you :p

      -Aidan

  • Hi, if Iโ€™m travelling later in Dec 2022, can I buy the SIM cards now and wait to activate them when I arrive overseas, or do I need to buy closer to my departure date?

    • Hey @matan100!

You can hold onto the SIMs for as long as you need.

Just put in the activation date you want the SIM cards to start working from when you place your order (this can be updated later on if need be).

Let me know if you have any further questions ๐Ÿ‘

      -Aidan

  • I'm going to the US and going from coast to coast.

USA Unlimited 30 Day Travel SIM Card (Ultramobile/T-mobile)(simsdirect.com.au) UNLIMITED (5G/4G) Unlimited calls & text (Oz Included) $63.75
USA Unlimited 30 Day Travel SIM Card (T-mobile)(simsdirect.com.au) UNLIMITED (5G/4G) Unlimited calls & text (USA Only) $50.25
USA, Canada, Mexico Unlimited 30 Day Travel SIM (AT&T)(simsdirect.com.au) UNLIMITED (5G/4G) Unlimited calls & texts (US, Canada & Mexico Only) $58.50

Are any of these better than the other ones? I'm staying metro in all the cities.

    • Hey @ClintonL

They are all very similar. Just with different providers.

If you have a preference over which network you would rather be on then go with that decision, otherwise they are all going to do the same thing if you are sticking to metro areas in the US.

Let me know if you have any further questions :)

      -Aidan

    • +1

Hey, I was in US at the start of the year and got one of each as I wasnโ€™t sure which is better, found that AT&T had better coverage and faster speeds.
With both they say unlimited but if you are in a busy area for example Times Square or a stadium, the data gets capped for all.

      • Thanks for sharing your experience @Legend279!

    • +1

I've gone to USA once (sometimes twice) every year since 2014.

I can attest that I used Tmobile, Sprint, MetroPieCeofShit (they use tmobile network) and AT&T.

Out of all of them, AT&T had the most coverage, BUT, Sprint was the most reliable when I had coverage. Tmobile was complete garbage even at the best of times.

Make of that what you will.

  • +1

Definitely keen if/when you get eSIMs, for my Europe/UK trip this xmas.

    • +1

      Keep in touch! :)

    • Just get Airalo. Cheaper and eSim

  • +1

Can't wait for the esim deals. Found local esim deals with local providers generally more price competitive, though support may not be as good as known Australian Customer Service.

Physical is on the way out.

    • Keep an eye on us! eSIMs launching very soon :)

We will be working hard on growing our range of eSIMs from here on out.

  • Hi Aidan, interested with the Indonesia travel sim but i heard Indo's gov locked the foreign mobile phone IMEI.

Will the prepaid travel sim works using mobile phone we currently have? Do we need to unlock our IMEI?

  • Hi Aidan,

I purchased the UK / Europe 12GB sim around late 2019 but COVID cancelled my Europe holiday in May 2020. I suspect when I ordered at the time I would have nominated an activation date.

Can the sim card still be used? I am booked for November 2022.

    Thanks very much

    • Hey @Chumly

Yes! Your SIM will still work when you go this November.

      Safe travels!

      -Aidan

  • The Europe & UK (28 days, 71 countries, 12GB, $32) doesn't include Serbia but does include Singapore and Vietnam. Say what?

    • Hey @Losmano

Yeah, it's got a bit of a mixed bag of countries that one!

Let me know if you need a hand with anything :)

      -Aidan

  • The SEA 30 day Sim is pretty tempting for a hopeful trip to Japan next year. Heading to Singapore later this year though, any chance you can get the Singtel hi!tourist cards?

    • Hey @happychild100

I can definitely put my feelers out for that product. It might take me some time though!

      -Aidan

      • All good! It's easy enough to get on arrival, just something handy to sort out beforehand. I'll keep an eye out!

I guess this is a mistake?

    • Good Morning @Eeples!

The SIm does come with a UK number and can receive calls from Aussie numbers (as long as the person calling has international minutes to UK).

Let me know if there is anything else I can help with! ๐Ÿค™

      -Aidan

      • Oh, that's great.

        Thanks!!
