  Regular price for a Stanley equivalent is $8 from Amazon.

  I got a generic scraper at Bunnings for $2.25, takes generic blades and works well. I highly doubt there will be a considerable difference in quality between the 2.
  Stanley & Trojan also make scrapers available for around $7. This really isn't a bargain or a deal, imo

    Out of interest, how does this bladed gadget compare to your typical flat “paint scraper” type metal thing?

      This is a safety scraper, it's literally a retractable razor blade. Sharp edge paint scrapers aren't normally as sharp but are often more durable. Paint scrapers are available in wider widths so they can be more efficient for large areas. The blades on these are replaceable for cheap.
